Crank the channel volume for dirt, crank the master for cleans. I use the m2 on my Eleven with a guitar in drop a. The m2 is my go to amp for cleans and heavy ballsy over drive. I keep the gain at 2, channel volume at 7, bass at 4, mids at 6, treble at 6, presence at 7 and bright in. Tube screamer is set as a clean boost, level at 10, tone at 6, and gain at 0.. you can add an eq after the amp for a more Mesa sound. I use the parametric, but the 10 band works well too.
some were ownhammer and some were IRs I found in the files section of the headrush pedalboard group on facebook. If you want to help support the channel you can buy my SDNA Doctor IR pack from the description of this video.

Hi Doc. with adding a wah, are you able to set the mix level of the wah signal like you can on a helix. example you just want a hint of a fixed wah signal on your lead patch , not the whole signal. on the helix you can adjust how much of the wah you want in your signal. can it be done on this unit. thanks
Unfortunately not at this time. You can create a parallel path and use the mixer to control the overall volume of the wah. I use the Auto Wah effect under the Air Filter Modulation category to do moving wah parts. It works and sounds great and there is a mix feature you can adjust as well.
Awesome rig! Love your videos, thank you for sharing your knowledge. I do wanted to ask you, I made a rig similar to yours and when I saved it the wah pedal was off, but now every time I call up the rig the wah is activated. I tried saving the rig again while the wah is off but it doesn't keep that settings, it comes on again if I go through rigs. Have you seen that?
Bothrops there are some great Impulse Responses that can get that cutting kind of sound that you are looking for. There are plenty of high gain amps in the HR.
Great sounds, simplistic, and still has room for more pedals in the chain!
Can definitely do a lot with very little. Let them fingers do the talkin.
Add EQ most mesa have it to shape the tone and add defination to the tone.
Also could run the effects parallel and run stereo doubler effect add two amps two cabs and mics! It’s got balls!!!

Thanks doc!
Your welcome
I think the second volume on the mesa is to function more as a power soak
that is very possible. Thanks for the info.
Hey ther Doctor. I wanted to ask if you'd come up with a nice modern metal tone for bass?
I was hoping for a Brutal tone.
Mario Murillo everyone’s definition is different. Give me a Dual Rec with a tube screamer and let’s shred.
THIS is what i'm talkin' about !
How can I get the ir
Where can I download those IRs?

I love the headrush. It is completely capable of metal but this Jessie's Girl tone is far from brutal.....
define brutal? haha I am not much of a metal player so I will leave all the scooped tones to someone else.

Jstall7543 the Mesa Boogie models are especially great for this.
@@DoctorMcFarlandStudios thanks brother I'm playing it now lol!
How do we know what each amp is based off of?
The names are not that far off from the original. There is a pdf file in the files section of the Headrush group if you want to check that out.
@@DoctorMcFarlandStudios Sweet... is there a 5150/6505 model?
@@ryant3600 yes it’s called the PVII based on the 5150 II. Make sure you are on the most recent update.
That M160 IR - that's the mic and distance, but what speaker is it?

why not just GET TO IT
And... where's for the metal brutality?? Nice leads but I think this pedalboard is not capable of doing metal tones.

The Headrush is absolutely capable of killer metal tones, it's just not captured here.
