- I'm confused by a lot of things in life. Electricity. Magnets. Bees. But this #Popeye and #Bluto set from #MezcoToyz may just be the most confusing to me. Whose idea was this? Who signed off on this? What madness lurks in the minds of men?
They are amazing figures. But why? And also, how? So many questions, and yet, no answers. That's the life I've chosen to live.
Also, stay tuned through the end for a timelapse shot of the Weekly Allowance photographer photographing photographs.

This occurred to me, as many things do, after filming 👍 One day I'll be on the ball, but today is not that day.

It's a really neat set!
I have the earlier Popeye mezco release with the black sailor suit (my preferred look) and this set didn't seem worth it for me at the time but seeing Bluto now I sort of regret not picking it up.
Bluto is an impressive figure for sure! It's kind of nice to have them together in a display.
@@weekly_allowance Maybe I'll look out for it. Popeye seems to be a bit of a forgotten icon. He was set to have a big animated movie a few years back but the project has been cancelled of postponed. There is a trailer for it.
@@goatbone I saw the trailer and enjoyed it, it's a shame the project got set aside!
It's even weirder when you realise there was a live-action popeye movie distributed by disney, they could of used as a reference.
For anyone who hasn't seen it, Robin Williams plays Popeye.
It's not amazing but isn't terrible. The location they filmed it at was built to house the actors and instead of taking it down, they left it; it's not a theme park-like attraction you can visit to this day.
I saw a video documentary about that movie, from what I hear it was a struggle to shoot. The locations looks cool, though!

If you take Popeyes shirt off ( his forearms come away from the elbows ) he has a compass tattoo on his back.

What? Are you saying about nightmarish? That's what we look like in real-life? They might be cartoon in the past but mezco? Put there knowledge in everything to make them more life-like... The skinn texture... And psychic everything when we get old our skinn well prone like a rotting banana? And well basically, if you wan't to stay younger then dooo plastic surgery... Or skinn tone... Everyone's been doing it...
It's mainly just the absolute craziness of seeing their bizarre proportions in realistic 3D. It's both beautiful and terrifying, much like life itself.
