Nice episode, love the before and after shots. Yes you do get allot more points in story mode, enough to fully unlock on specialization if you plan things carefully. I've yet to find a good station in a good location to fix-up but have gotten some good ideas from watching you. Cheers.
hey spanj just a tip if your running low on fuel!: find stone statues from temples and stuff and put them on the base or your ship !! they lower power consumption
That was a good remodel of the base boss. I like the way it turned out. You have a good foothold now. And no worries about the 500 points. It's a new scenario after all and it's your first playthrough. I was worried the playthrough would end on a frustrating note so by all means, get as many points as needed to flush out this season to its fullest. Enjoyed it as always.
Nice episode great rework on the base (you may want more plots for pentaxid I made something like 90 of them in my base) For the points, you do not get enough to get everything even with the storyline. You have enough to get 2-3 high-end items, so you have to chose carefully what you unlock. Also if you can salvage the Item dont spend points on those. ex: I unlocked the SV Extenders because you cannot find anything over Tier 2 extenders, but not the base and CV extenders those can be found anywhere with a little luck. The name of the game is to spend as little points as possibles so you can get those few end game items. Most of the stuff in the engineering section (except HV and SV extenders) can be found by salvaging so don't spend many points in there as for weapons the SV is the most important because you can go anywhere with it, and the CV as secondary, as for a base try to find a place that won't be attacked etc or use salvage weapons only.
I've come back to ESG after a couple years after watching this series... It's a completely different game. Having a little difficulty getting back in the swing of survival building but getting there! Not sure if I should thank you or curse you for that though... 😅

The limit on unlock points is guess are to make you focus on salvaging instead of out right building so have to be careful on what you unlock. The worthless weapons you can’t deconstruct could toss in the factory as there are a few planets you aren’t able to fly into with a ship and would need something to get around on the surface. Still very enjoyable watching you play this
I love to watch you build! Very inspirational! Doesn’t matter what it is, base, cv, sv, hv. I would like to see the building process in a different series. Really enjoying the series. New to the game and your channel, and although I can't see myself playing survival because of how.. well how the game is lol, I do enjoy building ships and stuff. Watching an experienced player do all of this in survival might be even more fun though, I can feel your sense of accomplishment. I discovered you can set up a solar fueling base in a junk field in close orbit to the sun. 15 solar panels and 9 Advanced constructors. I can fill my ship fuel tanks in a couple of hours. I will likely break it down and take it with me when I head out of the system.
It’s a pity that you opted for a non story start, but it’s also a great test, as it’s showing up some areas that are still in development for sure. @Spanj (or any of his followers that know): How do you get rid of the NPC Spawners on a base you take over? I took over a Collection Point and the "NPC Spawners" were in the middle of the air with nothing to delete?
it'd be cool if you could just find upgrade points in loot. like purple loot. hell, just in general, i wish the loot table was more open. i feel like just about every container of a particular color has nearly the same stuff in it. theres so much more stuff in the game that could be in loot.
Space bases aren't attacked so you don't need any base shields nor guns on space-bases. It also depends on the starting seed. I sold 12 of those tier 4 base extenders - 4 CV, 8 Base and still found it easy to get more. Again, it's the luck of the draw with respect to the starting seed value.
have you decided on how you are going to build your SV as in vid or live stream? i dont mind you using commands for points. it seems to me the dev of this mod needs to balance the points a bit. i understand its in progress. i really do enjoy the mod. good vid
Love the episode, short is fine. I'd found that base in an earlier playthrough and was repairing it but it was the playthrough that went wonky when the mod or the game updated. Some of those NPC spawners were in the way, how did you get rid of them? If I remember I'd used console commands to convert them to steel blocks which I could then see and remove. If there's an easier way that doesn't require the console I couldn't see it. I hope the mod author adds ways to get a fair number of points. I did do the story start and have been hoarding my upgrade points and not spending them on things I can loot. But there's still a ton of stuff in the tree I can't afford that I'd like to try. I'm not above giving myself points but I'd rather earn them in game.

Then the thought of you making storage SV's came to my head. So I built a landing harness on the front of the sleigh, and then built a ship that looks like two reindeer.
