What a wonderful interview. Great questions. And Derek was a great F1 racer. He made everything of his talent
Brilliant interview, great to hear a home grown story that made it that far
Great interview
Fantastic. Well done to the presenter for doing the homework!
1982 Monaco gp.. So near... 😢
34:23 I can say that people from Greece, Cuba, Iceland and Albania to name a few are beneath the bottom of the trough when it comes to professional car racing in general. Although it would be cool to see race drivers make it to Indy and/or F1 from said countries
James Hunt was a big Daly fan. He was notorious for expounding heaps of criticism on many drivers during his TV commentary, but even in moments when Daly was helicoptering his car over multiple exposed helmets he never once said a bad thing about Daly. BTW regarding Irish racing talent there is a young lad in F4 this season who is blowing me away with his performances in Italian F4 and British F4. Alex Dunne. He has the stuff. Keep an eye on him.
I have a memory of DD at Monte Carlo when he was going to win but his car broke down and he started to try and push the car to the finish. Did that really happen?
I think he ran out of fuel on last lap?? Once saw him drive through Navan in a Saab 900 turbo.
This Irish motoring legend nearly won Monaco in 1982.. UA-cam. Heart breaking.. 🇮🇪
Great ages the true formula 1
