@@markmitchell457 haha.. yeah.. i guess thats right. I dont think germans have "marines" not under that name anyways.. and here ein finland we have "coastal jaegers" that have a similar work description.
I served in the german navy before i relocated to finland and i have never seen a marine.
But what we had is something similar to "seals" ..."combat-divers/swimmers" we use to call them.
      Those guys are legit nuts.
Dont pick bar fights with them.. just a tip.

@@zoolkhan German Navy does not really have Marines as in amphibious warfare troops but more akin to naval infantry. The Seebattaillon (sea battalion) consists of one recon company, two onboard deployment companies (boarding, maritime interdiction, sea-based force protection, evacuation), one coastal company (land-based and naval base force protection, evacuation) and one mine-cleareance diver company. Add HQ, staff, training, logistics, medical for a total strength of 1100 personell.
Seperate from the Seebattaillon are the navy special forces, which are the combat-divers.
Seebattaillon is fairly new, it was formed in 2014.

Marine Components are the only things not standardized in NATO I think. Every nation has their own idea of what constitutes "naval infantry" "marines" or "amphibious forces". A British Marine is very very very different in terms of operational usage from American Marines, and the French have two "marine" forces, each administered by a different branch from either the Navy or the Army. The doctrines and even branching varies nation by nation even in NATO.

I think soldiers in the norwegian, swedish and finnish armies have a big boost to dealing with all weather. We operate in a country where one part it rains every day a lot, another where its - 40 C with wind. When you pee it freezes before touching ground. And we have alps, plateus, and rugged beaches. Norway is the ideal training ground for everything except desert terrain. Hence why we in norway train in jordan sometimes

That difference is the level of indoctrination. USMC Infantry are shock troops, you send them in first knowing that despite taking heavy losses they will retain the will to fight. The US Army also has shock troops, in the form of US Army Paratroopers. US Army Rangers (Ranger school is no push over) are better than your average USMC grunt. Great story, Great Marines! When Nato decides to win his conflict, which is an almost certainty, these well tained and equipped forces will be a nightmare for the Russian troops.

The Russians will be toast. Anyone who claims otherwise is either delusional or (more likely), a paid bot.

the former Soviet Union/Russian aggressors will find themselves fighting a NATO colossus that cannot be overcome. There will be no nuclear weapons exchange because the Russian aggressors will run away with their ill-gotten gains and hide in various SCO-friendly nations.

NATO against Russian armed forces would be like... well NATO against say, Burkina Faso.
Only problem with Russia is, it's a bandit nation with nuclear weapons...

I tend to think the same. But we should not underestimate the Russians. There are a lot of them. Quantity above quality. Furthermore, is the Russian way of war far less considerable towards their own human lives. It has always been that way and that is nothing different in Ukraine right now.

Absolutely fascinating! My 1st time observing Marines across NATO. I'm more accusomed to hearing about our Asian Marine brothers.

I'm a little confused as to why NATO is producing military promotional videos. They don't do direct recruitment into their military forces.

Its essentially propoganda. It promotes trust with the public. Im not saying its a bad thing. If im gonna be force fed propognada id rather it be nato propoganda.

It’s important for the populations and the general public of member countries to understand NATO and its role in defending our freedoms. These videos are informative, clear and visually appealing.

Well, they know that it is important to keep public opinion onside in member countries. Not too long ago the EU made the mistake of not doing the same in the UK.
