We got the chance to train with the British royal marines as an OP 4 opponent in mout city, they are definitely a strong, well capable force! Those excercises were my favorite!

Add HQ, staff, training, logistics, medical for a total strength of 1100 personell. Seperate from the Seebattaillon are the navy special forces, which are the combat-divers. Seebattaillon is fairly new, it was formed in 2014.

A British Marine is very very very different in terms of operational usage from American Marines, and the French have two "marine" forces, each administered by a different branch from either the Navy or the Army. The doctrines and even branching varies nation by nation even in NATO.

We operate in a country where one part it rains every day a lot, another where its - 40 C with wind. When you pee it freezes before touching ground. And we have alps, plateus, and rugged beaches. Norway is the ideal training ground for everything except desert terrain. Hence why we in norway train in jordan sometimes

This is great. Cooperation of different nations Marines & the training they're getting to work together is paramount. What I'm not seeing is what kind of mental training these men are getting. This training is just as important.
Intereating fact. The USMC alone (including reserves) numbers around 213,000 personnel. That's larger than many European nations armed forces branches combined.
USMC is a lot more conventional than Marines from other countries who are a lot more specialized with harder training, that’s why the US Marines in this video are the only country in this video with women. USMC infantry is similar to US Army infantry
@@johnseaton1967 While it is true that the Marines of other nations are considered special forces, there is a big difference between USMC Boot Camp and US Army Boot Camp. That difference is the level of indoctrination. USMC Infantry are shock troops, you send them in first knowing that despite taking heavy losses they will retain the will to fight. The US Army also has shock troops, in the form of US Army Paratroopers. US Army Rangers (Ranger school is no push over) are better than your average USMC grunt. In fact, US Navy SEALS, and members of MARSOC are often sent to US Army Ranger school.

the former Soviet Union/Russian aggressors will find themselves fighting a NATO colossus that cannot be overcome. There will be no nuclear weapons exchange because the Russian aggressors will run away with their ill-gotten gains and hide in various SCO-friendly nations.
NATO against Russian armed forces would be like... well NATO against say, Burkina Faso. Only problem with Russia is, it's a bandit nation with nuclear weapons...
I tend to think the same. But we should not underestimate the Russians. There are a lot of them. Quantity above quality. Furthermore, is the Russian way of war far less considerable towards their own human lives. It has always been that way and that is nothing different in Ukraine right now.
