But I just wanted to say I watch all your videos. I cruise by your shop from time to time, trying to catch a glimpse of the wagon! Keep up the content. Enjoy you dropping knowledge on us.
What a awesome looking hot rod, must be so sick looking with the Front End on! The size of those Heads is incredible, hope he clicks off some of his fastest passes!
How cool to see some Veney heads come through your shop. Ken Veney is probably over 80 now. He was still pulling mini rod tractors a few years ago. I drive by his place every time I visit my daughter near Wadsworth, Ohio.
Some build for sheer power for just a moment at them ridiculous RPM's and others want brute force for heavy lifting then there is the refined monster that can do both " really cool day in the shop working out pro mod power .
I know all them haters that always talk crap on your engines saw Garrett's brand new fully billet hemi hang a valve open after 5 passes roughly because he never lashed the valves between rounds between one of the passes... One little forgetful thing like that and it almost cost him big .. moral of the story anything can happen doesn't matter how good the parts are or who builds the engine.. if it makes power it's going to eventually break.. weather that's after 5 passes or 50... And the actual people that will ever spend money with Steve know that... It's the casual weekend race van that talks like they know what they're talking about because they've seen UA-cam videos lmao... Being in this industry for 25 years I can tell you one thing for certain... Nobody is as open and honest about everything as Steve is.. every other big engine manufacturer and builder out there is hiding when things go wrong or at the very least not telling anybody.. I will always have respect for Steve in that way
I've always had the impression that Cleetus's biggest reliability problems can be mostly attributed to himself and lack of maintenance. I could be totally wrong but that's the impression that I get. Hopefully with this big dollar car/engine they will learn and get some sort of SOP going with the race team or I feel they will just continue to hurt parts.
@@Two-StrokeLife hundred percent. part of me thinks he does it to create a little drama in the videos. Breaking stuff equates to views for him so it actually makes money.
I'm so bummed. was hoping to see some numbers from that Veney headed engine. The 1066 head has 2.600 intake and 2.100 exh valves. The last version we made had a revised combustion chamber/ piston combo that was pretty trick.
Steve is an amazing man and makes really good content that's very enjoyable to watch. Still waiting for my wagon poster cannot wait to receive it and put it on the wall. Ty for another cool video Steve also Hello to Dewy Val and Kyle and the rest the Family.
I always run autos with lockup on the dyno, so much more control, don’t have the converter torque multiplication to contend with and can actually get some load on without flaring the converter/revs right up. Plus less heat on the trans, I’m only playing with 1000-1500hp cars but same deal applies if the lockup can hold the power and that’s how it runs down the track then it’s good enough for the dyno, plus if locked up before starting the pull it’s easier on the lockup rather than it trying to pulls the revs down as it does on the track so no issues there
Cool hemi, but yup pro mod.YOUR STEVE YOU CAN! Talking gear ratio, tires 😁. Able to machine a rim to bolt up to mimic a larger tire? LUCKY Fan to drive the trailblazer 👏
That is one bad Mother Trucker!!! I have always loved the Willys body. One of my other cars I built brother drove it for me was a Fiat alter. GOOD LUCK EVERYONE ON WINNING THE BLAZER!!! I will flip my wheelchair over if I win it !!!
Old dude here -- Crankshafts -- learned from a crank guru -- Ashland grinding -- not to lay them down -- they will bend -- apparently was not true - EHH !!!
Would a V8 make more power if 2 cylinders fired at once? Thinking how the Honda 4cyl has 2 at TDC at the same time. I know it would take a special crank and cam and timing Just curious if it ever has been done or what the results might be.
Well done Steve. For an 1/8 mile car with that horse power, don't know what rear tire more than likely a 34 or 36" tall tire, a 5.40 gear seems really steep, or not?
I wondered about the lockup converter. I also wonder how he expects to shift a 5 spd lenko in an 1/8 mile. If he hits 5 gears in 4.5 - 5 seconds, he is the man😂
Sorry I pumped your emails full I just wanted to make sure my order was filled. It only cause I was charged. I really want that shirt. Your awesome that’s the fat
Is it because of the type of Dyno setup, I was under the impression that Fuel Tech does Dyno on Promods I believe, I assume their Dyno is build different, or they can't do Promods as well?
The only question I have is maybe you did it off camera but I didn't see you guy check value lash the whole time? I thought that would be a must before that many pulls? ( lose turm pulls) lol
That is not a punk dyno either, when I was there I looked it up. And you should talk transmission tuning with the Holley, maybe line pressure, tcc lockup, and how they relate to putting power to the ground. I made it so you can charge up to 1200$ per hour for video chat consultations. I really liked the advice you shared, thank you Steve!
I’m not trying to be negative here but how do you drive that down the track? 5 gears? Just curious on how fast is this thing? I hope you send a video of this on the track.
I remember when he put that in mullet, I thought you went on the drag-n-drive on it's maiden trip. And I thought you told him to check the lash EVERY time it ran??? they eithor never did it or maybe just didn't film it IDK but am really suspecious

The SMX never got to race on a good prepped track with the bigger 315 radial and the parallel 4 link. When they first put the SMX in Mullet they still had the stock style triangulated 4 link suspension, and they did run a PB but was basically the same 1/8 as the old big block ran. Then they upgraded to the parallel 4 link suspension. But they only had one event that had good track prep and they were on the smaller 275 radial. So I think the SMX got the short end of the stick with Mullet being on bad tracks or the smaller tires.

1/8 mile should be 3.9 seconds for promod’s. No idea how he plans to shift through the 5 speed.
