Bowie is anything but underrated. He's up their with UK acts such as Beatles, Stones, Led Zep etc., in terms of critical aclaim and influence.

It usually places number 1 on all time favorite Bowie lists. Bowie is a legend. Considered top 10 artists on most lists.
Never expected I'd ever get the chance to see Bowie live (he's not the type of artist to play the deep South too often;), but i actually got the chance to see him on tour with the Nine Inch Nails in Charlotte and he was magnificent. Incredible catalog of songs, but he never rested on his laurels. He was always evolving and pushing to do something new.

Bowie was one of those cats who came to the studio to start each new album saying that on a recent trip he experienced a new artist or act and was captured by the style or sound of their music and that he would be building his next album around that style. Rock, jazz, funk, soul, blues, African, Asian, it did not matter. He incorporated musicians and producers throughout the years who followed his lead and delivered!
