The abusive way he talks to her at the start is 100% grounds for divorce...but starving a pregnant woman is palpable physical abuse, and grounds for denial of child custody. If he took her to court for a dna test, he'd need to give reasoning and her too....he would definitely NOT get custody (maybe not even supervised cause he put HER life in danger). She was right. That was domestic abuse and reckles endangerment with his own child.

I was over him when he told her to only send HIS mom a mother's day gift but not hers.. I wished my hubby would.. that's his mother, not hers, she doesn't have to send her shyt if she doesn't want to.. his abusive behavior wouldn't of gotten any better.. it would've just gotten 100× worse once the baby is here.. disrespectful little turd.. first off, he doesn't need to be there for child support to be discussed.. child support, custody, spousal support will all be discussed during a divorce proceedings.. his checks/bank account would just get garnished and he'd be held in contempt of court for not showing up for court..

The fact he was trying to be smug & act like he had the last laugh before a time skip later begging to see his son & another time skip later desperately begging Nancy to remarry him & ask her dad to help him get a job.
I'm guessing the new girlfriend didn't last long since she isn't mentioned past Nancy being aware he got with someone after the divorce. I also kinda want to imagine some of the issues at work might have been because he told everyone his wife got pregnant & ran away.
I hope his parents/family get some punishment cause they're just as much at fault as the ex-husband. Especially the ex-MIL for her behavior.
Hope OP might one day find a better person to be with if she decides to remarry. Also hope the ex-husband eventually is forced to pay the missing child support along with what he still owes. Maybe also his family getting shunned cause people found out what happened to OP. His family forced to leave in shame just like him.
