Sewer rescue exercise Norwich sept 1988

Sewer rescue training exercise held in Norwich, England in 1988. Strange looking back at the techniques that were used and the lack of equipment available for such rescues. We are certainly in a much better position to carry out this type of rescue nowadays

I take it the Nomex Tunics were on trial?
Also do the paramedics actually put canulas into the ‘casualties’ on excercises?

tigger1662003 I am not sure about the canulas but yes the tunics and helmets were on trial and were introduced around 1991 time.
