I'm having flashbacks to when I tried to scale attack speed on an old build and I found a video describing how the break points work for it. Until you hit the breakpoint (multiplier in this case for the shipment) it doesn't actually change how fast you attack. And as you attack faster and faster that break point gets harder to hit, to have any actual effect on your build. The breakpoint (multiplier for the shipment) is just very early and very steep in this case.
@@evoknz diminishing returns is typically a nice curve. Breakpoints are plateau's. the graph looks different, if that makes sense? I don't know how else to explain it.
@@StormCloudGenerator Maybe, i don't imagine a curve, I just imagine investing more and having less returns the more i invest, with no proportions attached to it
So we see that adding multiple crops increases stack size/quantity of items received. How much do you wanna be the Shipment value is a rarity multiplier. Also really wanna know wtf GGG was smoking that they got 3 pages of loot with 2 whole rows of alterations. We got baited hard
Neon stated in the interview with ziggy that they already by that time changed the quantity and wanted to make less loot but more valueable - but yeah i would have enjoyed boat loads oft bubblegum as well sadge
Either that or there actually is a secret threshold after which you suddenly get pages full of loot. Would be surprised about the latter, but also don't like the former bc it implies GGG actively lied about this.
anyone who played PoE for some time (league or two and more) knew that was a bait with the shipment... expected from a studio that can make custom items (white daggers with thousands of damage) on the fly - so why not l00t too?
I've been sending like half my crops with some dust with every single shipment I do and I've gotten 4 divs so far from ships. Only level 93, playing pretty casual with a long way still to go on my town.
Just a thought: This might be because the cities you ship to have break points. IE It's not multiplicative to what you put in. if it has 0/100 with a multiplier of 120% and another has 50/100 for 50%, it could be that large shipments push it past that break point of 50/100 lowering the % gained from the shipment. To put into simple numbers; Break point 1: 0/100 port with 120% value for the first 50 ore. Break point 2: 50/100 port with 50% value for the next 25 ore. Break point 3: 75/100 port with 10% value for the next 25 ore. This means you're actually getting +110 value on the first break point, + 37.5 value for the second and 27.5 for the last. This means the difference between putting in 50 vs 100 ore is 45 for double the input. These ofc arent the actual values, it seems way more aggressive.
If sending multiple shipments is the optimal way, then does that mean that getting tier 10 sailors are not worth it? Since they are made for big risk shipments and their wage is higher
Another thing to think about is why they would give us 3 ships if the best way to get loot is sending everything on one ship, that would make having two more ships useless
I also saw ZiggyD cheat sheet about the league mechanic. Apparently crops always return currency no matter the destination they go to, on the other hand, ore or bars will bring back items, fragments tatoos depending to what port they’re sailing
Do the affliction spectres bought in ritual work like in affliction, where if they die, ghey are gone, or can uou have them in your desecrate pool to respawn when dead, like regular mobs?
If "Total Value" holds jack shit worth relative to the actual types of resources you ship, GGG giving us an accounting league where the numbers are an absolute lie is peak.
While the point is true, I think it is also important to note it is not worth stockpiling all the crops just to be efficient. The most worth is probably going to send whatever amount you can comfortably sustain, without going all in on the sendings. You get no value from having 100k crops in your town, but nice findings
It was already proven that the dust has diminishing returns. Logically, it would make sense for everything else to have the same diminishing returns. Going from 1 to 55 is the same difference as 55 to 550. Therefore not even counting dust, 55 corn, 55 wheat and 55 pumpkin is worth as much as 8,000 of one crop. As far as what your shipment should be for currency farming...put in the amount needed for each bonus for that port. Then put in the amount of dust that you can maintain. Then go through and change all crops to the same amount (whatever amount keeps your failure chance low). Repeat this with every port that you can. Also much better to send to the closest ports if you plan on being on, and the distant ports before you log off, as the distance has diminishing returns as well.

my theory would be that you actually getting those 300x loot but with GGG upscaling values, like not how you would trade 150c to 1div but with vendor exchange values, so it could be that upscaling REALLY JUST SUCK, like if you getting 1 div per 600c rolled or something like that, and small shipments work just because there is less upscaling and more rolling the dice.
Saw some other UA-camr claiming that you get the best shipping results from sending only the items they want, and not over the amount asked for, that will give more rewards, and have a lower risk, sending any items they don't want will increase the risk alot, not sure if that is something you guys have tested, but that seems to work for me (at a much lower level of the mechanic than this)
Shipment value could work in a different way though, not as quant but as rarity even for currency making it more likely to get higher tier currency like divines etc. Also the 1250 per crop and 300k value to aim for seem kind of randomly chosen by steel so I'd take that with a grain of salt
