MY BODYGUARDS IN THE PHILIPPINES! (Filipino Barangay Captain And Security)

  • And so I found myself with many bodyguards in the Philippines:
    Barangay Captain.
    The "BSG" - Barangay Security Group
    And...
    The "TSG" - Tito Security Group.
    Okay, that is, and isn't a joke. I found myself in Flora Apayao with all these wonderful people. They invited me to go check out a "untouristy" waterfall in the bukid. It was such a wonderful adventure, and everyone who was my "security"/guides were so fun to hangout with!
    I hope you enjoy the learning, adventure, and humor of this day in Flora Apayao! And of course the AMAZING WATERFALL they brought me to! I couldn't believe it isn't discovered for tourism.
    Waterfalls and Bodyguards for the win! :)

    Once again you have increased my appreciation and love for the people of the Philippines. All because you allowed THEM to share their story with us. I'm convinced there would be less division in our society and world if we just got to know each other. Thank you for your help in lessening that division!

    Barangays and other isolated communities has its protocol. Barangay captain and his/her people will escort your tour inside their area. I've experienced it when I have been a tour in a barangay inside mountain areas. I feel thier support and care.

      Mecan Rod They stuck a 38 revolver in my belt and smiled for a photograph. They are part of CAFGU, Civilian Armed Forces Geographical Unit, that fight alongside the regular Philippine Army against the NPA. In Mountain Province, I feel naked unless one of the bodyguards has an M79 grenade launcher, which they call a "mortar," under his M-16. Have you been to Mountain Province?? 😐😐😐😐😐

    • @volthole
      @volthole 5 років тому +1

      @@John77Doe no, I've not been there yet. Sorry for the misinterpretation, in my case, I have been from a safe places. But in your case is different. People live in that mountain will surely bring weapons for security purposes.

    • @John77Doe

      Mecan Rod My asawa, had to undergo CAT (Civilian Army Training) when she was in high school. She knows how to fire and load the M-16. CAT was started under Marcos as a last ditch effort to stop the NPA. When my asawa was in high school, the NPA was collecting revolutionary taxes in the provinces and were moving into Metro Manila. There were "sparrow" executions of police in Metro Manila even after Corazon Aquino took over from Marcos. The NPA was moving into the cities from the countryside, where the NPA had achieved complete control. What stopped the NPA was the Ronald Reagan's funded Ulsa Masa, (the people rising). Ronald Reagan armed everybody including the Philippines Knights of Columbus to fight the NPA. Now in our current day, the NPA is confined to a few permanent bases in Mountain Province. 😐😐😐😐😐😐
