I use a Galaxy S4, but I have used a Samsung Focus and Lumia 900 in the past. Picked this up yesterday from Best Buy to play around with it and I was impressed, more so than with the 520. The lack of ambient light sensor did jot bother me as I thought it would. Same for the camera button... The camera isn't spectacular anyway. Battery life seems quite good... Should get through the whole day with little problem. No front camera does suck, I won't lie. But the phone is fluid. The 512mb does delay some tasks... But the slowdown feels different than Android lag. Maybe that seems nuts. It seems like an organized slowdown rather than it stuttering. I had no idea Google Calendar support was baked in again; it had left my Lumia 900 back in 2013. And I love the people hub and group hubs. Sure I don't have all the Android games (Doctor Who Legacy), but I have a Nexus 7 tablet, so that's okay for me. For the price, I cancel my insurance for my phone and will just use this guy!

That "chin" is actually really useful for small kids who don't understand that they shouldn't keep their thumb on the screen while holding the phone. It creates a buffer for them. Really, it's nice for Kid's Corner and small children.
I understand MS (Nokia) wanted to make a clearer difference between their low-end and high-end model phones hence, no flash, no front facing camera and now no light sensor. What I don't understand is why they (MS & Nokia) keep comparing their low-end Lumia to the iPhone and other high-end devices. Instead why not compare their Icon or L1520 smartphones to said devices? Now that I've seen this video I realize the L635 is even sadder than I thought. Don't get me wrong, I like the design of the L635 and I understand it was created for smartphone users on a serious budget, but what I'd like to know is when are they going to release a high-end WP8.1 device for T-Mobile or better yet an 8.1 device that is available on most carriers? T-Mobile has a tendency of discontinuing windows phones.

But the Lumia 520/521 did... this one is newer and has a better screen... so it should just be better, right?" Rather than spending the $100 on this device (on AT&T), I think that to get in the Windows Phone came, I'll spend an extra $50 or so and find either an HTC WP 8x, or Lumia 820, 920, or 925 (1020 is too expensive for me). Very torn, as all have their pros. 820 has expandable storage, but a lower quality screen (material AND resolution). But it is more pocketable than the 920, which is a large tank to me. So then... just get the 925? Some test shots I've seen on sites have a purpleish blurry fuzz to the image -- something I was VERY annoyed with on my Lumia 900 back in the day. And how is sound quality on the 925? Honestly, the 8x tends to be the less expensive one (generally speaking), but I know Lumia gets some cool app support; and I'd love Mix Radio and such. VERY frustrated. Android has my antsy...

Nokia Lumia 635 has two basic problems: no frontal cam (impossible to take selfies!!!!!!!) and 512 Mb RAM memory. (I know that Windows 8.1 can run only with 512 Mb but some app need 1 Gb RAM). Despite these "problems" is a good smartphone.

this is crazy. compared to the 521 no physical buttons, no camera button, no ambient light sensor. this phone is garbage. my biggest complaints about the 521 while using it was the screen and camera, so ya the screen update was important but wtf microsoft you cant take out so many features. this micro sd slot is also essential when you have a device with only 8gb storage which ends up not even being enough for app data

I don't think some apps are able to run with only 512MB RAM. 1 GB should be a minimum for low-mid range+ devices.

you can install applications to an SD Card, and let's be fair having a Camera button for an adequate at best Camera is pointless anyway.
