This comment is hilarious because it’s the exact opposite. Max is embarrassing, a pathetic white apologist who won’t let the intellectually lazy racism card die because he needs to push a narrative and virtue signal.
There are some teams that will never ever hire a black coach but it's not a racial thing....WHAT?? I hate when commentators try so hard to sound intelligent by insulting our intelligence.
That's exactly what I was thinking. Why would you want to take a job of some losing team when you could step in and take over a winning franchise in a year or two?
Keep telling yourself that. If he didn't then he wouldn't have taken 100 interviews the past 3 years. Maybe hes a bad interview, maybe he shouldnt have a lengthy arrest record that owners dont want to chance. Thats life.
If character is the issue with bienemy why even bring him in for an interview? He has had 17 interviews for HC jobs since becoming KC HC......it cant be character either.....its race folks
Yes racism plays a huge role in HC hiring. Black candidates are held to a higher standard. Bieniemy also had some major legal issues in the 90s and 2001. The combination is extremely tough to overcome. It's not fair but that's the truth of why he doesn't have a job
So y’all think they don’t hire black coaches on purpose cus they hate them? Makes no sense Do they hate Mexicans too cus I ain’t never seen a Hispanic head coach
Shady McCoy said it not all players can handle the way he talks to them he said he's a good coach but it's not race teams may be hesitant to hire a coach who could end up Losing the locker room.
Bill McCartney who was a great hall of fame HC said EB was the single most important player he ever coached. EB was as good as motivator as any coach. In the 90s Colorado had the 3rd most players in the NFL, 2 first round picks in 2 different yrs.
Shady was mad that he didn't have a role with that team and eventually was gone. Football players that want to win will go through a wall for it; Shady was a player that no longer had juice/over weight/beat up, it happens, but his take on E.B. run hollow with me.
If you know how communication works you know they both have deeper knowledge of the situation that they cannot share. They know why he’s not getting hired but can’t share on TV.
I fell there us something else that they are not sharing but at the same time I think a white coach in the same situation would have at least got an offer to be interim HC. IMHO
EB has had 17 HC interviews....so 17 times there has "some reason that can't be disclosed" to not hire him? What could that be? If its something criminal its obviously not a big enough crime to keep you from being OC.....what kind of logic is that?
Maybe his past off the field issues has alot to do with it. He has had multiple arrests and issues with the police. Not saying right or wrong. But this could be a deciding factor.
How bad is his character? Josh McDaniels signed for a team, then reneged on that contract before even setting a foot on their facility.... Got a another job, was caught cheating and he was actually bad at being a head coach! Went back to NE, then got another job! Now there's a man of questioning character, but he is a head coach in the NFL.
To say he has to do it without Andy is crazy when we know others have no even called plays before. So that’s odd to say. Idk what the issue is but we know it’s something there
My question is why hasn't one of these sports "reporters" investigated this at all. Instead we waste time debating what ifs. lets get to the bottom of it

Chiefs let his contract expire. That speaks volumes. Nearly half a dozen teams interviewed him and didn't give him the spot. He has argued with players on field. Something is going on. I want him to be a HC, but something stinks here.
Interesting comp to Bieniemy is Mike McDaniel. Keyshawn is absolutely right about the media optics impacting the level of respect and recognition Bieniemy gets, as Andy Reid is generally given all the credit. However, McDaniel, also a minority OC, faced the same (arguably more so) under Shanahan (his QBs don’t even get credit, let alone assistant coaches, from the media), yet still landed a HC job. There is something more at play with Bieniemy.
@@unc54 Makes me wonder if there isn't something the Chiefs aren't doing to help and prep him for the process versus the Niners. When you look at how many minority coaches and front office personnel have been hired from the Niners the last 5 years (including 2 defensive coordinators no less, which as you mentioned isn't what teams are looking for these days), it suggests they're doing something in terms of preparation and assistance with the process that perhaps other teams don't. Just an observation, I'm not blaming the Chiefs or Andy Reid for Eric not being hired.
@@ktbeatty I think it simply comes down to Bieniemy not convincing owners and other GMs that he's integral to KC's success. Every year Andy Reid loudly proclaims support for Bieniemy and tries to hype him up and yet Bieniemy has yet to get a second interview much less the HC job. Also, Bieniemy isn't the only OC who has had to wait a long time for an HC job. Bruce Arians had been an OC for over a decade (including a championship Steelers team) and only got an HC offer after he pulled off an amazing interim HC job with the Colts. Daboll also had to wait over a decade to get a shot.
@@Moor_Fish That certainly was a topic when he was hired. As a white man, I won't pretend I have any opinion of value in terms of who gets to call themselves, or identify as, black in America. My understanding is that his father was black and his mom was white (I don't know anything about the racial makeup of his Dad's parents or grandparents, so can't speak to the ¼ - ¾ thing). He qualified as a minority in terms of the NFL's program for minority hiring and compensatory draft picks (a program so much better than the farcical Rooney Rule IMHO), and that's the baseline for my comparison, along with both being offensive coordinators under head coaches considered to be offensive geniuses and largely responsible for the offensive performances of their teams.
I’ve heard the point before about the impression left on owners and GMs by cameras/press focusing on Andy Reid after a great offensive play, and I agree 100%. Good points, Key.
YES, JWil, there is something going on with his character. He has a criminal past that these guys are purposely not mentioning. They ALL know about it. none of us have been in his interviews . i think owners have shown they hire who they think will be successful. there's tremendous pressure to win. but it's tough to understand why he's not a HC. in fact i don't recall anyone interviewing Bieniemy after a game to even hear him speak. he's not getting any facetime from the media.
Could it be his past legal issues? No one seems to mention that and instead going straight to race. He has a temper it seems. We saw him flat out yelling at Mahomes during a game. I don't think he has the cache to do that to an elite player like Mahomes - similar to Belichek laying into Brady. Teams may not want the distraction around their head coach. Players seem to get away with it since they are expendable to a degree.
Shady McCoy said a while ago EB has issues with player relations and that's why he is being skipped. Shady was referring to the time he was on the Chiefs around EB.
It's been talked about a lot about how he doesn't interview well and can be hard to work with (treats staff hard, swears in interviews, etc.), plus KC only giving him 1 year deals the last 5 years speaks volumes to probable character concerns.

Back in the 80's, there was a saying, "You'll never get fired for choosing IBM." The underlying sentiment was, IBM was such a dominant force in the computing space that whether they could do the job or not, selecting their solution was a 'safe" choice. No one would get fired if IBM failed. That's what's at play in the NFL. The 'safe' choice from a GM standpoint is NEVER the 'unproven' person of color. That's exactly what I was thinking. Why would you want to take a job of some losing team when you could step in and take over a winning franchise in a year or two?
Plus it’s probably FUN to win superbowls knowing your dialing up plays and your QB can execute. You stress out with BAD QBS that can’t do it right.

He interviewed 15 times! Of course he wants a HC job. Come on guys.
Eric’s resume is better than the majority of coordinators and head coaches! Max is telling the truth & Keyshawn is dancing 🕺
Yes racism plays a huge role in HC hiring. Black candidates are held to a higher standard. Bieniemy also had some major legal issues in the 90s and 2001. The combination is extremely tough to overcome. It's not fair but that's the truth of why he doesn't have a job

EB has had 17 HC interviews....so 17 times there has "some reason that can't be disclosed" to not hire him? What could that be? If its something criminal its obviously not a big enough crime to keep you from being OC.....what kind of logic is that?

How bad is his character? Josh McDaniels signed for a team, then reneged on that contract before even setting a foot on their facility.... Got a another job, was caught cheating and he was actually bad at being a head coach! Went back to NE, then got another job! Now there's a man of questioning character, but he is a head coach in the NFL.

Good points from Max and Key! I often thought the same thing about the announcers giving all the credit to the HC. Even some of your colleagues on ESPN! 🤨
Because he’s black , if he’s white he’s a head coach 5 years ago
Chiefs let his contract expire. That speaks volumes. Nearly half a dozen teams interviewed him and didn't give him the spot. He has argued with players on field. Something is going on. I want him to be a HC, but something stinks here.
He is not the only coach or the first or last coach to argue with a player on the field. STOP THE BS
Also teams were running after Demeco Ryans. Less impressive resume than Bieniemy and on the "wrong" side of the ball.
Is Mike McDaniel a “minority” He’s only a 1/4 black and 3/4 white. He looks white and married white. So… He’s white in this country’s eye
