I just made a blanket or quilt that has a flannel top, batting and minky backing. I thought I had to tack the minky but I may not. I did some rows of stitching to my top to attach the batting. Also, made 3 receiving blankets with my serger. I'm going to have to scrap bibs and burp cloths from the remaining fabric. I'm not a quilter, but I'm learning. Thanks for your help.
I have a question...When you wash Minky mixed with flannel is there any problem with the flannel shrinking at more of a rate than the Minky? I think flannel shrinks, but Minky does not. I really want to mix the two fabrics, but concerned that it might get contorted after it gets laundered.
That's a great question! I have not had any issues with the flannel shrinking so much that it distorts against the Minky. It actually looks goes together quite nice. 😊
Love how you are doing this, I have started a blanket for someone and wondered if I could use the serger for the combination of minky and flannel, but is recommended to use polyester or cotton thread on the serger for this application? Thank you!!
What stitch are you using? If I want to sew a sheet would you recommend I use my serger or a walking foot for my Janome sewing machine? Beautiful blanket!
I am just using a standard serger stitch. I recommend a serger for working with Minky. It works so much better for me. I hope it works better for you as well.
So glad I found you, I'm new to sewing, always wanted to learn, I'm 64 years young and so excited to learn from you.
Loved it. I wondered how flannel and Minkie would work on the serger 😊
Thank you so much for all that you do and the wonderful content on your channel! It is so much fun!
Thank you so much!
That looks fast and easy, thank you.
Loved your video.

Very cute
Thank you! 😊
I just ordered an Accuquilt cutter, I have arthritis in my hands as well. Thank you for sharing 😁❤️
Hope you enjoy it!
Great video, thanks! What needle tensions and differential settings do you set the machine to for this blanket?
Awesome!!
Loved the video! Can you tell me where I can get that adorable truck material for my new grandson?
Congratulations on your new Grandson! ❤️ I purchased that fabric at Joanns. 😊
Did you spray the top of the minky with the 505 before you put the washable water solvable on top??

Hello, can you please tell me the size of the blanket? Also , is that the typical size or is that the size you just like making? Thank you.
Angela- I believe it finished at 35.5” X 35.5”. I used 1 yard of fabric for the flannel and 1 yard for the Minky.
Thank you!!
Babylock has air threader. Love mine.

Replay. What size hoop are you using and how big name
Delia- I am using an 8 x 12" hoop. I am not sure of the size as I used the font in my machine. I selected the largest size of font for this project.
