Color is such a relaxing place to start wardrobe changes for me. It’s playful and options seem endless. I have more trouble with line. I’m only 5’1” so finding clothes that don’t end up looking bunchy in places is my real challenge. I appreciate that you style your pieces rather elegantly without a lot of pattern. Sometimes in the store I love a pattern but then never end up wearing it. I just love solid colors.
As a color lover, I just wait until the colors I love are widely available, which requires patience. I have also been using color remover and dyeing items. Tip: it’s easier with natural fabrics.
Agreed! I see beautiful styles in horrible colors. I need cool or neutral shades, and so many sustainable styles are warm browns and greens. As a pale girl, I avoid black near my face. Even a charcoal grey is better.
Me, too, especially cool-toned, light colors. Hot, bright colors are trending, but they don’t work with my coloring. Brand choices are so limited these days: black, beige or bright orange.
Love this! Especially in a time when so many here are going neutrals only. I actually really enjoy several different shades of tan and brown in my wardrobe as my base color. I finally came to terms with the fact that black just does not suit me very well. My blemishes stand out more, my hair looks brassy, and my dry scalp shows up on my shirt throughout the day. It’s actually more high maintenance than white especially when you factor in pet hair! I also stick with more mid tone colors. I would love to see more conversation about the depth of color! As well as the saturation. I can get away with several colors in low saturations. Cooler tones and more muted colors as well. I have very warm, almost copper brown eyes so it’s no wonder that this color looks so good on me as a base color. I’d like to add a pop of color with my purse, my shoes, and my lip color or hair accessory! Earrings are also fun to play with.
Yes please … can more influencers promote wearing colour! I kinda get the neutrals principle… but it is soooo boring! There is so much joy in wearing bright colours. I’m convinced it improves your mood, and the mood of those around you. It’s impossible to be miserable wearing daffodil yellow!
Hi Signe, I am a 60 year old woman in Australia and have only recently found your videos. I have feel that I finally found the solution to my wardrobe ( thanks to you). I have shared your videos with a dear friend who is in her 70s, she loves your advice. She said to me " how did we not know this". As a secondary school teacher of design, I think that I just never took the time to research fashion. I love your classic design. I have totally sorted out my clothes. It is a work in progress but much more organized. Thank you. Anne
…or look at your eye colour, and wear a top that’s the opposite on the colour wheel! Orange looks amazing on blue eyed folks, purple with green eyes, cobalt with brown eyes… but check out Trinny’s UA-cam ‘closet confessions’ for the masterclass inspo on this subject.
Hej Signe! I follow your channel since a couple of months and I really appreciate your personality, style and values. I'm also a fan of denim blue, navy blue and my training clothes are in turquoise to give me more motivation. As we also had a Ruby Cavalier King Charles (named Ulysse), I truly enjoy seeing your friend Oskar -- aren't they the best dogs?? We visited Copenhagen for a few days in 1980 and it always been a good memory. Thank you for your always interesting videos. Bye from Montréal, Canada 😊
When I had my CMB analysis, this system had just the four seasonal palettes. I would love an update with the newer 12 palettes to determine my Summer subtype; I expect it will be True Summer as I have medium-light contrast. Plus now that I’m 62, I’ve lost color in my skin, hair and even, perhaps, eyes - I used to think them light brown, but now I can see that they’re definitely hazel, there is a lot of gray and green in them. It won’t affect my color analysis, but my hair texture has changed, too, it’s no longer almost straight, but downright wavy, even curly.
I’ve seen some recent color analyses on YT that were downright wrong. Color Me Beautiful did my color analysis 40 years ago and this has been a great guide for me, they just don’t ever get it wrong.
Very much enjoyed your video, great ideas, styling pieces together. Can be worn by a wide age range. Nice to see the little one. Motherhood obviously suits you.
I'd like to see more on wearing purer and less muted colours- , not coloured neutrals like brown, khaki, beige, and tan. Putting neutrals together is pretty easy, it's the colours we need advice on, also think they will really suit you.
I like matching accessories, but not always, and often do a two-out-of-three match for shoes, bag and belt. I do like all three matching if I have a busy print dress, or something similar, on - it “disappears them”. I don’t like having too many focal points in an outfit because they eye has no place to rest, it just is overwhelmed, destroying the cohesion of the outfit.
Hi there from Missouri. What can you tell me about the black sandals you are wearing with the shorts at the earliest part of the segment? Thanks in advance.
Hi Irene 😊 I’m thinking you are referring to my leather sandals from Billi Bi which is a Danish shoe brand - they are from last year, so not sure they are still available. All the best, Signe xx
Another good one, I’m going to look at organic basics right now! I’m curious, are you soft summer? I would love to get my colors done but it’s hard where I live :)
Hi Lydia! Thanks for your comment 😊 according to the seasonal system I do believe I come closest to a soft summer yes, but we work with something called the tonal system at Colour Me Beautiful - it’s a little more flexible as we first determine your dominant colour type and then move on to find your secondary colour type. With the tonal system I’m a soft/cool/light. 🥰 Signe xx

I want to see more color options from retailers. Most items of every clothing category are offered only in one, two, or three neutrals.

I love colourful clothes, when put together right you simply look sturning.

Do you know karenbritchic? Theres a lot of colorful content.
Colour based on your eyes is awesome advice!!!

The colour of your t-shirt looks fabulous on you! Amazing with your eyes!
A little scarf (skinny scarf, necktie) or even a bag charm can add a little colour to an outfit.
