0:58 this boss is good at roll catching. roll into the attack instead of away from it, you'll almost always get caught by the cape follow up attack if you roll in the same direction he is hitting in.
it is better to dodge to the way that the cape is coming with the attack, and for the first phase just get his attacks memorized, it is really easy when you get the hang on it.
in phase 3 and 4 (i think? been a while since i played ds3) when his cape starts to attack with his sword, roll into Gael's body instead of away from his attacks. Ensure you're rolling really late, as his sword is coming down to avoid those attacks. His recovery's a little slow so you can get a rolling r1 in or strafe to the side and get one or two standing r1s in on him.

For me to beat first phase I used yorms greatshield to deflect his sword worked really well but lost after phase 2 but got him my 2nd try
This is literally just a skill issue
