Duchenne Care Video 16: Steroids 1

Steroids like prednisone, prednisolone, calcort or deflazacort are known to slow the loss of muscle strength and motor function in Duchenne. The goal of steroid use is to help continue walking longer, preserve upper limb strength and breathing, and to help keep the spine straight. Steroid use should be started early, but not before the age of 2.
