Do these still have the raised laser engraving like their previous 1911’s? I sold off my series 70’s due to that. Turnbull quoted me $300 to flatten the engraving and a reblue.
No, thanks. I'll stick with a Nighthawk Custom rework of the Colt 70 series. It's everything the Colt SHOULD have been, but that it never managed to be under Colt.
Colt Limited Edition is $1,200ish Nighthawk is like $3,500-5,000ish That’s like comparing a Kia Rio and a Rolls Royce because they’re both 4 door sedans
@@bjkearns2 Originally, it was about $2,300. So, about a thousand more. But the question isn't why the Nighthawk was more expensive. Rather, the question is why Colt wasn't willing or able to make it themselves . . . for any price? Calling it "limited edition" is more of a cheap way to charge more, rather than an opportunity to demonstrate their ability to make a superior gun. Maybe that's why they went broke.
@@bjkearns2Kia and Rolls Royce are super different, though. Different suspension setups, different powertrain, a lot more variation in options, vastly different styling and materials. Your example is more like Canik vs Korth, where the similarity is superficial in that they both have a semi-auto handgun. I'd say Colt vs Colt Nighthawk is more like a standard Nissan Z vs a Nissan Z Nismo or a Mazda MX5 that got sent in to one of those high-end custom shops.

I love how your holsters have that leather inside, perfect for not scuffing up that sweet piece!
Thank you!
