Straddle and hold on technique

Contracting to Gotcha Stumped Tree services. we were removing the top half out of a very dead, very wobbly old gumtree. I set my line in a great high point above the dead stick and carefully made my way down chainsawing off bits as I went.
there was a shed and caravan directly below me, which made things a bit trickier. I couldn't just keep chunking it down, had to set a lowering line.
the job went great, and we had it safely down in no time.

Great stuff ! Another good SRT redirect knot is a basic cow hitch (loop and split outwards and backwards), you can adjust the tension between spars as you wish. Great for skinny poles.

Another option that works well is to put a tension line between two trees and abseil of that.
That and a decent throw line.
Also english reeve can be mega helpful.
