For those that are wondering about why the person customized the St. Louis Blues jersey with the number 82, it goes back to their rally song “Gloria” by Laura Branigan which they adopted during their 2019 Stanley Cup run. The song “Gloria” by Laura Branigan was a huge hit in 1982, so as a way for Blues fans to show support for the song, fans would buy customized jerseys with the number 82, some with the fan’s last name while others put Branigan on the name plate with the 82 number. However, Branigan never got to see the run, as she passed away in 2004 due to undiagnosed cerebral aneurysm.
This was very nice. I’ve got some Reebok jerseys with the crappy plastic printed numbers that always fade and I want to eventually replace them with better layered numbers, this was nice insight into what to expect.
Honestly to get the ghosting out, ironing I have found to be better than steaming, sometimes I’ll put a couple dabs of albachem VLR and it’ll really help get all the gunk and residue off the jersey.
At one point I seen the pain in your eyes, looking like you had just put in your 8th day of work this week. Thought the heat press beeping at the end was gonna be that final straw.😂

That explains the number, at least. Pretty darn obscure, but I like the thought

Check out my video where I take the C off a Reebok Minnesota jersey if you want a closer analog to what you're doing
@@uglythirds definitely will
Zach Sanford initially wore 82 for the Blues before he switched to 12.
That would have made this a lot easier 😂
Did he wear the 3rd jersey though?
@@uglythirds Yes, but not the Adidas make. He wore a Reebok 82.
That's a big enough difference that I had to go through all this rigamarole
Very fascinating. I knew you were one of my three favorites on this channel for a reason.

Youz guys commitment to the craft is admirable.

They lured us in with those great prices and I didn't even think to check
Love the projects. I’ve taken on a few myself. Can you recommend a good glue to use before stitching? I saw you using one in this vid. TIA

I've seen VLR recommended for other things, I need to pick some up. Thanks!
@@uglythirds it’s the best for getting glue residue off and it gives you the ability to re customize heat pressed jerseys
@@DeanMavridesHockeyPro6839 if it can take that nonsense off... Yep, I need to order some
@@uglythirds have done multiple restorations, couldn’t have done it without VLR, the stuff really is magic

Oh I had to wait to get the nameplate, then it took FOREVER to sew, and you're right, it was one wrong stitch from being trash lol
