    You guys should try either the ACT or Competition clutch.. lots of interest from the community but waiting for feedback on those options

    • @EdgeAutosport
      @EdgeAutosport  4 роки тому +1

      We are going to do an ACT soon. The twin disc is to impractical and not what we want for the car long term. It's just too much for a street car. We'll report back on the ACT at some point.

    Really like the videos shows me reviews and out come for my car before I get em and the headaches that come with it.
    With the clutch I do know someone that did a clutch masters twin clutch kit and they had the friction pads backwards and it was acting the same way wasn't fully disengaging, sure you guys checked that but just an idea from personally hearing about it

    Can you do a video of reinstalling a subframe. I saw that you had a few lights came up. I wonder if they were steering codes and traction control codes. Last time I reinstalled my sub frame I had to drop it back up and put it back in cause the steering shaft was off. If you could make a video of how to reinstall it and clear the codes that would be amazing

      We haven't had any codes come up like that, only the suspension light when we removed the stock shocks. But I'll see about making this video though. Wouldn't be that hard.

    • @EdgeAutosport
      @EdgeAutosport  4 роки тому

      Oh and if you saw codes, it's probably because we removed the battery and the ECU reset itself.

    • @kurtwuttke5787

      Edge Autosport so it came with a power steering code, a traction control code, a parking brake code, a steering rack code. It had no power steering. This is when I took the steering rack off to do the Eibach sway bar.

      @@kurtwuttke5787 I don't under why a vehicle needs so many sensors. Christ my turbo swapped lsj was making 540whp and I had to drop the rack n sub a few times to do certain repairs basic shit really. That being said the ONLY sensor that had to be turned off via HP Tuners was the o2 for the catless setup. Never had a suspension code because of shocks or steering angle code from the shitty steering intermediate shaft gm put in the cobalts. Or the glass axles etc.... fast forward 10 years and I buy another highway queen and she has nannys out the ass. I know that the 8th gen si accepted the rsx 5 speed because our 6 speeds can't handle power. Hey edge when you guys get into making real power. When the trans breaks... I'll letbyou guys see if the rsx 5 speed mates with the 1.5... I think it will. Maybe with different axles or something. Idk... I just know a 6mt on the highway is a pita. But I like a challenge. Maybe ill let YOU guys knows which 5 speed hooks up.

    I ran a 725 series clutch masters, twin disc organic discs, unfortunately it puts to much pressure on thr slave master and clutch master cylinder and keeps blowing them out even with the sirimoto kit it will keep blowing them out I recommend your careful with it it last around 2 months before they blow out and i ran this clutch for over a year

    JP my buddy Caleb told me he talked to you about it ST power goals and clutch. Anyway I have an fc3 as well that I'm modding don't know how deep you are in the 10th gen community but honestly just order the type R retrofit clutch they say it holds 500 hp and the torque to match it.

    • @EdgeAutosport
      @EdgeAutosport  4 роки тому +2

      It might come down to that. Truth is, I'd like to try a clutch kit we sell. But if what we're selling doesn't work, it doesn't matter. I've got get a clutch in that works, regardless. But I appreciate the comment!

      I’d prefer the ACT product offerings. The Type R retros are out of stock and harder to find. ACT seems like the best option but few are running (and I just heard you say they were out of stock as I was typing this). Why are clutches such a PITA for this platform?

  • @tylersmash92

    I've noticed on my stock FC3 that sometimes unless i have the clutch on the floor it doesn't fully disengage. Maybe the stock master just doesnt have the fluid capacity? I know there are aftermarket replacements out there.

    • @EdgeAutosport
      @EdgeAutosport  4 роки тому

      That's definitely strange on a completely stock clutch. You might be able to get away with adjusting your pedal a bit to fix your issue.

  • @thump3r
    @thump3r 4 роки тому

    yea i hear that the diaphragm inside the stock clutch master cant hold the extra pressure of aftermarket clutches so they have the potential of blowing out. i have no idea tho. if so the sirimoto master was designed to fix this issue.

  • @OGAwsomSauce
    @OGAwsomSauce 4 роки тому +1

    Just go Emans retro type r conversion, spec clutch is junk, clutchmasters is junk. You can goto Emans ig k20z3allmotor and see for yourselves both spec and clutchmasters is garbage. I highly doubt any 10 gen si build will see over 500hp at the wheels. Emans kit held 465 hp at the wheels no issues. I’ve had his kit on my car for a year now and no issues with it handling 310 lbs of torque.

    The spec 3+ clutch and fly was rated for more than that I'm sure but they took It down from tsp. It was like 473 torque. I'm putting this shit on ebay wth.

    • @EdgeAutosport
      @EdgeAutosport  4 роки тому +1

      It's funny you say that because I swore that when I first saw it and got it in the shop, it was rated for something like that and I thought it was fine because we'll never get close to that torque. Then after we started having problems and I looked the rating back up and it said 371. I kinda shrugged it off but now that you say that, I'm thinking my hunch was right.

      @@EdgeAutosport wow, this company is playing so many games. Smh Twostepperformance isn't the problem in my eyes. My first kit from them was missing the input shaft pilot bushing in the flywheel, almost destroyed my tranny. Cost me like a grand to fix it and all they did was send a "new" kit with the bushing installed. My car couldn't go into gear for weeks. Thank goodness I left the second kit in the closet.

    Going to ask again what is the max you can push the car on 93 before it gets dangerous

    • @EdgeAutosport
      @EdgeAutosport  4 роки тому +1

      When you say dangerous, do you mean dangerous because of the fuel type or dangerous because of the power level? I think you can max the car out on power from 93 and it won't be dangerous as long as it's tuned well. This is because of the factory fuel system limits, even with a bigger turbo. I think low 300's on power is around where you get at that point.
