For me he will be a future all-star.

Vassel is the better wing. He’s an elite wing defender and also a very good shooter who’s showing creation upside. Spurs process w young players is much slower than other teams. Vassel will have a breakout this year
He’s even more slept on…I think he’ll be mikal bridges +more creation offensively
I think Vassel is for sure the better shooter. Great shotmaker, and he has no problem taking & making big shots. But i like KJ and think he has lots of potential.

@@xenon1800 yeah I’m also somewhat skeptical on kj 3pt shooting. He was a bad one in college and first two years in the nba and it was his first good 3pt season. Also is a career subpar ft%. I also really don’t like defenders who lack awareness defensively which keldon does. I think keldon is solid but for me he is a 6th man who brings energy slashing hard to the hoop and just being an energizer where Vassel is elite defending and very good shooting who will grow with creating.

I never knew Keldon Johnson until I played myleague and was looking for defensive players and he was just a beautiful surprise. Good D and versatile on offense.

This dude is not even an average defender. Maybe he can improve but this has got to be the most optimistic appraisal of a player’s D I’ve ever seen.
His stock was way higher when he was playing this way at 22, now that he's about to be 24 and his play either hasn't gotten better or has regressed, than yeah now it's not looking so good. Keldon still has a shot at beign what this guy says he thinks Keldon could be... but I doubt it. But again, at the time this video was created it was definetly optimistic but not crazy.
the vid just pops up on my YT after released for a year. KJ is so solid, but no much discussion out Spurs fandom. With the Wendy's arrival and the rise of Vassel, KJ is still improving even with less balls in hand. Dude would be solid for many years to come....

Keldon Johnson is the lone bright spot in the Spurs roster.
I think KJ will be traded in a few seasons since the Spurs have gone full tank mode and likely will be a non-playoff team for the next 6-8 seasons.
So, Keldon's recent contract extension most likely means: "Recent history suggests that by signing an extension, the team [Spurs] will eventually trade him [KJ]."
So this didn't age very well

2-way wing? Just lost all credibility... he's a horrible defender.
He's a 23 year old playing on one of the worst teams in the NBA, instead of measuring him off of current impact I'm looking at tools and potential.
@@HoopVenue he's been the team's first option this season offensively, which naturally gassed his efforts on the defensive end.
with vassell leaping, wemby joining, and the development of rookies like jeremy/malaki, he'll thrive and find his place easily.

Keldon is a poor man's Zion Williamson. He will have a better long term career though.
