Swallows and Amazons star surprises Boat Show visitors

Actress and producer Sophie Neville surprises PBO readers by lending a hand on the stand at the Southampton Boat Show 2022, and giving tours of the boat Swallow, which featured in the 1974 film. The actress was just 12 years old when she landed the role of Titty in the iconic film based on the book by Arthur Ransome. Here, she describes what it was like being a child on set, and how she and a group of Arthur Ransome fans managed to rescue and restore the boat Swallow over 35 years later.

Really pleased I was able to get both Sophie and swallow to the Southampton International boat show in 2022.. and Sophie is going to be at the show in 2023 . ❤

I myself come from the Netherlands. I ended up here when I came across some props from the movie and this lady (actress in the movie) on an episode of the Antiques Roadshow.
