    Calvin Austin I'm pretty sure is a deep guy. Russ is going to want to throw the ball deep because that is how you keep the defense honest. That will prevent them from stacking the box.

    Historically, the Steelers do better with a tough schedule. Ben's rookie season was brutal and they went 15-1. 'nuff said....

    So I was waiting on this knew it be addressed.so Russ did have the best offensive line he ever had in his career last year. So that is true. But whenever you're reading the article you know that you're only seeing one side the side they want you to see. Again the play caller did not believe in Russell he came to the broncos as in Sean Payton saying this is how I run things you're going to fit what I do. When they asked him about how he would coach Russell on Colin cowherd the year before he said he was going to do things differently. He did not do that when he got to the broncos. Fast forward wide receivers really did not get open like that a lot of times Jerry jeudy might get open early on a play action but he wouldn't know the route so he would just run what he wanted. The only wide receiver that got open all the time was courtland Sutton. To the point where Steve Smith was talking trash about Jerry not getting open. Because we know he's such a good route runner. But his issue was being mature and in some of those situations he just couldn't catch the ball. Like the big play situations. Russell of course held the ball too long sometimes as well. But they would want you to throw the ball real quick to a tight end that's not even starting in the league. A backup for the saints in Adam trauman who got no separation from linebackers. I mean they were on this man like white on rice. And then telling Russell he's open throw it. Anybody that knows Russell that's not how he plays. If you want him to pass it in short windows the guy has to get separation. The other option on tight end Greg dulich he could not stay healthy. He barely played. Super talented guy but he never saw the field. If Russell had that guy he would have had a way better year. I say all this to say Russell has never really had a reliable tight end or a true number one other than DK and maybe Doug Baldwin. Give this man receivers he's going to make you look good. And the tight end group you already have in Pittsburgh is good enough way different situation than Denver. Remember Denver gave up 70 points to Miami and even after that Russell went on a winning streak. Now remember this is with the coach telling him since October or even the off-season we may bench u. This is with a subpar running game on a running team which was the majority of the snaps. So really their offense was one-dimensional so in that situation yes that's what happened

      @johnnyblazers 16 днів тому

      Denver gives up 70 one game and then upu credit Wilson for the win streak. How about the 16 takeaways the defense had in that span? The defense gave up an average of only 16 points over those 5 games.

    • @ljj734
      @ljj734 16 днів тому

      @@johnnyblazers absolutely the defense got better later. I'm not taking nothing away from the defense I'm just saying it wasn't just the coach.

    • @johnnyblazers
      @johnnyblazers 16 днів тому

      @ljj734 you did take away from tne defense.
      You said "Remember Denver gave up 70 points to Miami and even after that RUSSELL went on a winning streak."
      There is no credit to the defense in that statement.
      Plus, Wilson only threw over 200 yards ONCE in that 6 game winning streak.

    • @ljj734
      @ljj734 16 днів тому +1

      @@johnnyblazers I know exactly what I said but like I said the defense got better later. What you don't understand is when you have a coach like Sean Payton who has been Rusty and not in the league and his reputation precedes him. They're just going to blame Russell on the team wins and losses. That's what I'm talking about. And I stand on me saying the defense early in the season was terrible. They were leading the NFL history in amounts of yards allowed. That had nothing to do with Russell. But those losses that the team got cost people their jobs and that was blamed on Russell. As the prior season in Denver. Which really was not in his control. Yes later in the season the defense got way better. Big part of that being Justin Simmons was healthy at the same time baron Browning was healthy. When teams beat the broncos they use the running game to open the pass game. But those first couple of games Russell had great numbers. Broncos running game was set up well but not doing their part in rushing touchdowns. This team will do that. This team has an abundance of running backs. Is there anything else

    • @johnnyblazers
      @johnnyblazers 16 днів тому

      @ljj734 anything else? For one, nobody blamed Russ for losses when the D was giving up a bunch of points. Two, you still tried to give all the credit to Russ for the win streak.
      And your first statement is a bunch of excuses for Wilson. Watch him tank in pittsburgh and then you'll see it was him. Anything else?

  • @johnnyblazers
    @johnnyblazers 16 днів тому

    Were any Steelers gams watching Broncos games?

    • @DeCurtaRican
      @DeCurtaRican День тому

      Yeah, and THE BRONCOS sucked under Nathaniel Hackett, and Sean Payton was trying to tank. The bigger question is why Broncos fans are running around trying to convince Steelers fans that they should be miserable to have Russ.
      Here was Russ’s 2023 (15 games):
      3,070 Yards
      26 Passing TDs
      3 Rushing TDs
      8 INTs
      66.4% Complete
      98.0 Passer Rating
      In what world do those stats suck?! And he achieved them with a coach who not only didn’t want him but didn’t coach him and in fact tried to sabotage him!
      Here’s more:
      2nd in Adjusted Completion Rate*
      3rd in TD% (5.8)
      4th in Completion Differentials
      5th in TD-INT Ratio (26:8)
      9th in TDs (26)
      9th in INT Rate (1.8)
      10th in INTs among qualified QBs (8)
      11th in Completion% (66.4%)
      Wilson posted a 66.4% number in 2023, ranking 11th out of the 30 qualifying quarterbacks. Not bad on surface level. Then looking at adjusted completion rates, we encouragingly see Wilson rocket up to second-best in the NFL, at 78.8-percent.
      He also had 4 of the top-5 least probable completions and led the Broncos to a #1 red zone performance rating for half the season.
      His stats were a mixed bag, but there is much more room for optimism than there is for skepticism.
      His QBR sucked, but what ESPn won’t tell you is that QBR depends on the overall strength of the offense, including the run game. The Broncos didn’t have one.
