- The first leg of Molly the Cornish Crabber 26's homeward journey from the Gaffers 60th anniversary party in Ipswich back to the Solent. This cruise, alongside a number of other lovely gaff rigged sailing boats was organised by the OGA East Coast group, taking in the "Secret Water" of the Walton Backwaters, a stormy passage to West Mersey, a wonderful sail across the Thames estuary to Queensborough on the Swale and finally up the Medway to Chatham. We ended up trapped with all the other sailboats in Chatham Marina for 5 days, as their lock gates broke but had a great time anyway! One more video to follow, which will cover Molly's journey from Kent back to her home berth in Portsmouth on the Solent.
A gem. Seeing the gaffers in a place familiar to imagination from childhood reading of Secret Water is a treat.
@@MatthewFelgate-r4u thank you
Excellent !!
We told our grand dauter it was our "secret island😅
Thanks for these great shots! We enjoyed this cruise on Windbreker, so nice to look back with this video. Hope to sail with you this summer! Grts, Edgar & Else
Thank you. I hope so too!
Just brilliant wish I had been there
Really good
Especially channel crossing have to say you make it look easy 👍👍
@@TarquinWildridge-ul4ih thanks. Listening to me speak, I sound very confident, but it was my first time. Coming back I got slightly freaked out by some big ships until I twigged they were anchored. The AIS was massively reassuring- I could see them and they could see me.
une très belle vidéo j'aime beaucoup cette région et j'espère y retourner fin avril et monter a Brightlingsea que je ne connais pas encore .
Merci beaucoup! Brightlingsea vaut bien une visite.
It was fun wasn’t it! We look forward to sailing with you again, on your home waters this summer?
Dreadfully boring 😓
