    This is such a good comparison. Thanks! Deciding between st Regis and Waldorf this locked my decision in for St Regis. Park Hyatt looks tired and needs a refresh to compete.

      I’d agree with that assessment. Given everything covered in the video I’d recommend St regis and Waldorf above any other hotels we have visited in Maldives. And we have been coming to various resorts in Maldives for five years and counting.

    Nice comparison of the three resorts! The reef at the Waldorf Maldives is is a short 20 feet or so from the villas and is abundant with marine life. We have observed many colorful fish and even friendly reef sharks at the shoreline at the Waldorf. We have found that the service at the Waldorf to be warm, proactive and genuine and was a step above the St. Regis Maldives.

      Waldorf and St Regis are definitely in the same league of service at least. I think they’re close enough that it comes down to which butler you had, etc. Have you tried Park Hyatt before?

      @@clearedfortravel definitely. I found Butler at Waldorf to be cold. The one at the St. Regis was great

      @clearedfortravel  Рік тому

      @@KBacon-bu3jm yes from what I understand st regis has a higher expected level of butler service than Waldorf, eg the butler is expected to personally do things like make your reservations, pack and unpack your bags on request, leave gifts in your room, check on you daily at breakfast and dinner, cart you around, etc. at Waldorf many of these things are shared services not done by the butler personally. but I’m sure individual butlers at each hotel are better or worse.

    This video is wonderful! I often see hotel reviews for each of the top resorts in Maldives but this comparison video is rare. Thank you for providing such valuable information. Now I wonder what happens if you compare Ritz, Waldorf Astoria, and Alila.

      Thanks! Yeah we visited them all in the same trip side by side during festive season so we thought it was a great snapshot comparison. And yeah subscribe to our channel because I have another trip coming up comparing Ritz and Waldorf! Have not prioritized alila yet since I don’t think they have overwater villas. But I do want to check out Cheval Blanc.

    For the StR, did you need to request the Bentley? Also, we are titanium - any special requests we should make? I feel like we should be taking advantage of the superior service but don’t even know what to ask for..

    • @clearedfortravel
      @clearedfortravel  2 роки тому

      The St Regis usually doesn’t do the Bentley unless you booked a named suite like the Astor suite. I think they just did it as a special surprise because I’ve stayed there nearly every year since it opened. I’m also a titanium. A couple of things to ask for: ask for the afternoon tea service from your butler, have them do your two free pressings per day, and make sure they apply a 10% discount on your spa bill. Opt for the free breakfast over the points obviously as this will save you a good $170 per day. Titanium can also sometimes get free room upgrades depending on the season but often not during the busiest times like festive season. I’ve even seen ambassadors get no upgrade.

    How did you like the Park Hyatt compared to other resorts in the Maldives? Considering staying here instead of the Conrad and I'm not sure I can justify the cost for Waldorf Astoria.

    • @clearedfortravel
      @clearedfortravel  Рік тому

      Park Hyatt has incredible water and sea life. The rooms are very beautiful but more rustic, less modern & less luxurious than other hotels like Waldorf & St Regis. It’s a great place to visit all in all if you’re going to be spending most of your time on the beach & in the water. I’ve heard Conrad just finished a renovation though, so if you find it for a comparable price you may prefer Conrad.

      @@clearedfortravel Thank you! May I ask how many nights you stayed at these resorts? I'm wondering if I should do 9 nights in one location or 4 nights at Park Hyatt then 5 nights at Alila. I'm a bit afraid we might be bored at 9 nights if we stay at one location.

      I’ve stayed at St.Regis and Waldorf. And PH planned for next year. While I can still afford the St.Regis with points I’m more excited about the Park Hyatt for its natural beauty. If I were you I would pick Park Hyatt over Conrad

      I think it’s discouraged to fish directly on the reef but all the resorts offer inexpensive fishing trips offshore and they’ll even prepare your catch
