    Your videos are awesome. This is what a real tutorial should be. I've seen some videos of wood rubber band guns, and most of them are not a tutorial at all. Congratulations man! Happy new year!

    I finally got around to making this. I used scrap plywood shipping crate. It was about 8mm. So I had to use cereal boxes, Tongue depressors, toothpicks and skewers to offset the size differences. But I ended up with a working model. Thank you for the support files, they were a REAL TREASURE. I could never have done this on my own. I learned a lot of lessons on my first build and will be making a second (using 1/8th in wood).

    please try a stronger rubber band for the mechanism inside the gun. Maybe you have to make new mechanism parts and make them more accurate. It's difficult to help only with words :/

    @AgnikoFireking 8 років тому

    Compliments: Following the steps exactly and not taking unnecessary risks. Using scrap pieces of wood when clamping to prevent clamp marks and to apply even pressure. Using a rolled up piece of sandpaper with a dowel inside to sand round areas.
    Criticisms/suggestions: I feel like you might have wasted a bit of time, especially near the beginning, by only gluing one piece at a time, even though they were part of the same step (I can understand this being necessary if you didn't have enough clamps, which is very understandable if this is the case). Cutting out all the pieces at once and leaving the paper on (or taking it off and using a pencil to write the numbers very lightly) would have saved you the trouble of having to clean up the saw station so often, and made it a little more convenient. Also, this is just a personal preference, but if you use acetone on the paper it just rubs right off the wood.
    All in all, really good project, just seems like it would be a little inconvenient.

    • @tobiashede
      @tobiashede 9 років тому

      Well thoose with the black plastic wheels can hold much more rounds/rubberbands than this one. And perhaps you could take the gun and sand it and perhaps put some stuff on it. Like a nice looking handle or something? Modify it yourself :)

      +Bernhard Schmidbauer I am interested in trying this on a CNC at a local guild. I am new to CNC and was curious how you did this. Did you replicate the plans on a design software? Thanks.

    • @drBurns123
      @drBurns123 9 років тому

      +vmc5555 Yes, I replicated it on my aged proprietary CNC software called Win PCDREH, so unfortunately it won't help sharing with you. The normal way of CNC operation is: design in CAD, create route path in CAM and route with the machine's control software. So you should go to a CNC workshop and they will tell you how they work, which software they use and which formats they can import.

      RBguns Wow that's a long time... I've done a bit of editing in a video production course so I know it can be quite tedious. Thanks for making the video as detailed as it is. This will help me greatly when I go to make mine =D
