it's nice to see people who actually know the physics of traction! Tired of watching other rock "crawlers" that just mash on the throttle when they're stuck or need to have momentum before going up a rock
LOVE LOVE LOVE your charcoal Tacoma bro. That front locker is so worth the time money and effort to install yourself or have done for you. The footage itself is the proof it gives you all the control to do this sort of stuff and so much more. Great video.
For hauling capacity and long distance trips or over flat desert, the Toyota trucks have the advantage here, but on rocks and trails of the sort they were traversing, the Jeep has the upper hand all the way. Not choosing sides (I love Toyota's and have owned many. I have a lifted 4 door Rubicon now). Just telling it like it is. the trucks did great though. Good drivers all around. thumbs up. Crawl control on a Toyota is freaking amazing BTW...jussayin. By far, my two favorite off road vehicles have always been Toyota and Jeep.
This is why I LOVE TOYOTA.... most of them are #1 in offroading! and it's fun to drive and enjoy it's offroading potentials and capabilities. NICE VIDEO!
Nice bit of controlled technical driving and team work. Something you may find useful is CB radio's and a designated spotter. It makes communication much easier and you're even less likely to damage your vehicles or the trails.
Nice video. I own a JK Rubicon and a Lexus GX460. The Lexus is hands down better in everyday driving. The Rubicon is hands down better off-road due to solid axles and front/rear locking diffs plus 4:1 transfer case. The reason the Jeep looks so smooth on the rocks is because both axles are locked up and in 4LO. No electronic system will ever fully replace lockers.
I really liked the video. Just bought my first 18 Tacoma and love it. My wife is a jeep rubicon woman. As long as you can get out there it doesn't matter what you drive!! JUST Have fun!
Remember as kids we use to go off-roading with our Hot Wheels over shoes, hands, other hot wheels, pillows and even walls? We continue to enjoy the same things as adults. Awesome video. Thanks for sharing.

I'm a Toyota guy but you got to give it to those Rubicons. They're hard to stop! Nice to see a JL somewhere other then the mall. Great spot and great job guys.
Absolutely insane terrain I had my doubts about the taco making it but it’s going over these rocks with such anise it literally makes this look easy great work guys keep the good stuff coming
The dark grey Tacoma is the nicest I've ever seen - super nice build! Could be the driver but it seemed to a bit better on the trail than the light grey. Didn't seem to struggle at all really .. nice video!
The jeep driver would pick the weirdest lines. The tacoma driver without front locker modulates his throttle alot. Great looking rigs though, and that trail looked like alot of fun.
Could do a lot better if he was smoother on the throttle. I know these Tacomas have overly sensitive throttle (or at least my 3rd gen does compared to my old Jeep), but still, he made things a lot more dramatic than they had to be. Could have made it up that first hill easier if he just took it steady like the other guys.
Greg Rezek Judging by the amount of flannel, beards, and useless fuel containers mounted everywhere, I’m sure they don’t get a lot of driver time being baristas.
I think that modulation your hearing is because they need some lower gears. Maybe like 4.88's. You tend to bump the throttle like that when your trying to go as slow as possible in a higher geared vehicle. I have both a Rubicon and a FJ Cruiser and the gearing difference made a noticeable difference on how you tackled slow inclines. Once i re-geared the FJ from 3.73 to 4.88 oh boy what a different driving experience on and off road that one change made. I definitely would recommend that cost you wont regret it.
As I was reading out conversation I was thinking about mentioning the TacoBox to you and you stole the words right outta my mouth lol. I am having my FJ all redone with the Total Chaos 3.5" long travel kit as well as adding a front ARB locker. All in all around 20 grand when its all said and done then for sure I will be getting a TacoBox. The list is long as to all the upgrades I'm having installed. Just put the first 8 grand down to get the parts and an install date for Oct 16th penciled in with Yota Masters in Corona. Cant wait to get my old 6" Pro Comp lift taken off and updated. Looks like the TacoBox is just a touch over 2 grand not counting the shorter drive shaft and labor. I just don't have the time to do it all myself so this time i will pay the professionals.
Wow wouldn't have guessed that. Steel shortage? Well that can be my excuse to myself as to why I'm not getting mine at this particular moment lol. Well I hope you show it off when you have it done so we can see it in action on your truck. Be safe bro.
Beautiful place to go wheeling! I am a bit jealous. Sounds like y’all need some radios to help direct the driver through the obstacles. Looks like a lot of fun!

I really enjoyed watching that! Those tacos are nasty! I have a Nicely built JL that i wish I could hit some trails like that on. The east coast sucks, All we have is mud and slick ass roots.
I just got a 2016 Tacoma TRD Off-Road in Inferno orange this Christmas! I really can’t wait to start modding and getting into the overland scene. My parents don’t want me to modify it until it’s paid off but hopefully I can get them to change their minds. I’ve already been doing some light off-roading on beaches and power line trails around me. Loved the video!
And according to J.D. Power, Jeep IQS is finally over Toyota and Lexus´, so Jeep will last beyond Toyota/Lexus will: www.foxnews.com/auto/dodge-kia-j-d-power-initial-quality-study-tesla. Greetings from Costa Rica.
Man I would have love seeing the footage from all trucks in the same obstacles. See how each one handled their line. Specially those Tacos without the front diff lock. Would have been nice seeing them back 2 back.
Shit, I get nervous about scratching my new Tacoma pulling in the garage let alone this! I"m not an off road guy but I enjoy watching what my truck is capable of in the right hands. Lol. The Jeep is awesome too! Hell, we had Jeeps in the Marines before they went to the HMMWV. There wasn't any place those little tough mothers couldn't go or do!! They were a blast!
Damn. I’m not into rock climbing but since I own a 18’ taco thought I’d watch. I watched the whole damn thing. Nice vid bro. Not boring at all! I know why serious roaders prefer short bed. I have a DCLB and I could see it being harder.
I think a novice may look at a snorkel and decide he needs one, but the more experienced driver will buy a front locker first. That seems to be what happened with the guy in the Tacoma. He threw a snorkel on that he will probably rarely use, and that is not much help when the vehicle isn't properly water-proofed. Then he hit the trails and it became apparent that the locker should have been his first purchase.
N P the snorkel is probably meant more for dirt driving, it's able to breathe in clean air on top as oppose to a cloud of dust without one, ppl got different build ideas. Doesnt mean they did it wrong.
I like seeing people who don't bash on people because of the vehicle their drive and just enjoy going outdoors. Great video!
Jeeps suck
Which one?? All of them are Off-Road cars...
is people really that retarded? to bash on people because of their vehicle...lmao

Nice Taco! I like how your not afraid to use your stuff! That JL is cool also.
That JL makes it all look so easy. Great technical skills and good spotting out there.
Nice bit of controlled technical driving and team work. Something you may find useful is CB radio's and a designated spotter. It makes communication much easier and you're even less likely to damage your vehicles or the trails.
The dark taco grips so well I’m jealous

Still saving up for a new truck but with every tacoma video i see I get more convinced!
I love Jeeps but that Tacoma.... Jesus, it's one sweet ride. Generally it's a great video
You can't love both - it's either or.
I have a lot of faith and respect for the Tacoma truck...🛻
Good lord that Jeep is awesome! Trade those Tacoma’s in for JL Rubicon now! Lol
Exactly that jeep shit all over that taco. That's with a shitty driver behind the jl wheel too..smh
Wow, I'm a long time Toyota owner, but that jeep makes it look so easy.
Awesome. A toyota and a Jeep Wrangler, can't beat it
As far as rock crawling goes, you’re correct. Put them out in the desert or deep snow and watch how a Raptor performs.
@@torrancedesaulniers7471 you mean a trx would spank a raptor in the desert.
I like how the one Taco kept his tent on. Imagine where he could go to camp. Awesome

I'm a Toyota guy but you got to give it to those Rubicons. They're hard to stop! Nice to see a JL somewhere other then the mall. Great spot and great job guys.
Thank you! Yeah, I'm a huge fan of wheeling, so by default, I'm a huge fan of Jeeps! The JL is one comfortable crawler, that's for sure!
The mall 😂😂😂
funny cause i was going to say the same thing for the taco. lol
I was going to say the opposite.
It’s wheel base and articulation that make them unstoppable crawlers
Beautiful Tacoma man. I love jeeps but no one can deny the tacos capability on and off the trail. I’m impressed Toyota
It seems to me that rock crawling while raining is a recipe for disaster. Glad you guys had fun.
I could watch this all day long.
Absolutely insane terrain I had my doubts about the taco making it but it’s going over these rocks with such anise it literally makes this look easy great work guys keep the good stuff coming

Wow! Tacoma trucks are nice! Didn’t know Tacoma trucks are that capable!? Need to get me one!
Flyingaceful that one of the reasons they’re known for and their reliability
Well dne. Makes me miss my 2012 4Runnr and off roading. Super nice well built rigs, and awesome guidance.
Jeep's and Toyota's are two of the best off road vehicles for sure. Nice vid by the way!
Yes except one is cheaply made and the other will always take your ass home
Wow! The Jeep's really kickin' it. Made it look easy. The Tacomas, not too bad. Thanks for sharing. God bless.

Nice video, tacos and jeep look great! thanks for sharing (4runner and taco owner here)
Toyota Tacoma is so rare in Europe, I have never seen one. This makes me want to get one but I don't have the money.
The entry and departure angles are so much better on that Wrangler but I gotta admit that those Tacoma's look amazing.
You guys are a great commercial for both of these types of Trucks. Good job!
Awesome video!! Currently driving a 2016 Quicksand TRD Pro 4runner. I love it
I am a Tacoma owner, 00, 18, and 19. Gotta give this one to the Rubicon! Well done Jeep.
This has been the best off tossing video I’ve seen on UA-cam guys thank u for sharing
Great job filming! Really cool builds! I’d like to hear more about the builds as well. Love that you did not add music!! Subbed!!! :)
Gotta love the new JLs! Nice Tacoma’s as well

Excellent video and some really nice offroad rigs. It looked like a fun trip. Scott
Wish they offer the Taco with a front locker like the Ruby.
Please keep pumping out off-roading vids with 4runners and wranglers. This is sweet and better then any other vids I’ve seen. 🤙🏼
These Toyota Tacomas look way better than the Toyota Hilux we get in Australia
Zegers FPV they do look badass but I’ll take a Hilux any day
I love my Tacoma but god I wish it came with a diesel option
Man we all say the opposite! We all want the Hilux here in the US.
In MX we have both but only the hilux came with a diesel option BUT we don’t have the TRD Off Road or the PRO :(
Mate we have it here but nobody cud buy it
Runs on big petrol engine

Wow super cool Tacos and Rubi. I'm on the fence on both. I like them equally.
The grey tacome , to me, looked like it needed to air down a little more
And put on smaller tires or do some cutting. It sounded horrible to hear the tires "self clearancing" the wheel wells, cab mounts, or flares!
Nice video! Cool Toys, Like the Jeep. Cheers.
I have questions about your Tacoma’s, engine,trans,tire size,suspension, gears?
That trailer hitch on that Silver Tacoma took a beating
