If you hold your hand up against a normal mirror, such as a bathroom mirror, and compare the color of your hand and its reflection, you may notice the reflection is a bit less red. The majority of this effect is due to the slight green tint of the glass which the light passes through twice, once on the way to the back reflecting surface and again on the way back to the front. This is also the reason a “mirror tunnel” seems to turn green after multiple reflections. If you look at the edge of a piece of plate glass, the green is much more evident. So ladies, be aware, as you are applying makeup, the mirror removes some of the red you may be applying, and others may notice your rosy red cheeks as a more pronounced red than you think it is.

The "green-ness" of a mirror can easily be seen if you look at the side of the mirror. You'll see that the glass is greenish.

what if you raise a child in a black and white home where they never get to see a color until about 5? would their mind not be able to depict color since that part of the mind wasn't developed? what if you have no name to a color would that child then be able to explain what the color looks like with out the name "red"
Actually, in other languages colours can be "misnamed" from an English point of view. In some African languages, people have words for pink and orange but not red, so someone might say that tomatoes are orange. It's pretty cool :P

lol no. im saying if you raised any person in a way that they would never see a shred of color and have no knowledge of it at all, then one day after a few years show them colors. would the brain just not develop the ability to see the color thus rendering them color blind? if they have no knowledge of the colors and no words for them as we would use like the sky is blue the apple is red, would that person then have the ability to actually describe the color without actually using a color name?
and while we are on the topic...what happens if you where to raise a child with out limitations? what if they believed they could actually fly, or move things with their mind or do in-human things? what if you took away all the things we place as limitations...i mean we only use a small percent of the brain right? is it that way because of limitations of beliefs from science or biology that makes us not develop or use the other parts? its fun to think about isnt it? have you ever had that moment, someone is describing a problem and you make a suggestion and it completely bafuls them as if they didn't even consider it? A person who does not know there are limitations and rules is more free to think about a solution or to dream.
They would be able to see the colour. People have gone from completely blind/deaf to full sensory restoration.
