This Collection is kinda like when you walk into forever 21 and see an amazing jacket then turn it around and it says I hate fridays Lmaoo like whyyyyyy lol
Lol this so describes me! I am so curious to know your age range. I’ll be 30 in September (😫😫😫), so it’s like, I’m young enough to be walking into Forever 21, but “old” enough to be like “sigh.... really?” To the stupid screen print sayings on clothing 😂
Angie Lott aka angelang83 lmaooo am 29 and ill 30 in September also lmaooo September 28th... Also We're still young enough for a great Deal no matter what store it is lol
We just want regular textures. Liquid Sand. I don’t understand these. However, we are always complaining about nothing new in the nail world so I’ll give them an A for trying but it just doesn’t work, in my opinion.
Both the colors and the texture are clearly inspired by Roy Lichtenstein's pop art (those giant dot art comic style panels with super melodramatic text?). I LOVE Lichtenstein, but these polishes are a pass for me.
Me: Gosh, I wish textured polishes would come back; I love them! *OPI releases this collection* Me: ...no, not like that. Memes aside, these looked really ugly. The way the textures were when they first came out, with the different sparkles and shimmers, was perfect. I'm really disappointed.
Have to say I just grabbed one of these on clearance and was also a little confused about what they were going for. However I will say they look kind of interesting, but my main plus is the texture. I love the way they feel! I can't stop rubbing them, it's so fun. The aesthetic is fine, but the play value is really up there!
I'm so glad you did this video, because I was curious how these applied. I don't like textured polish in general, so this collection is a hard no for me. I just kept thinking, WHY?! Who sat in a meeting and proposed, "You know how when you paint your nails really badly and too thick and it gets all bubbly? Let's do that on purpose!"
Thank you, Jess, but I will be giving these a miss, I think they are awful, goodness knows what OPI are thinking about. you could get the same effect if you sprinkle sand over while the polish is wet
i agree 100%. i bought the yellow because i wanted a golden color for my nails and i saw no other brands that contained this color at the store. little did i know my nails would feel like sand paper after application.
Thank you my friend for posting. I tried textured before and just ended up peeling them off because of the bumps in them😞 I would rather not try them again, but the colors are very pretty.
I picked up Pop Star at Ulta yesterday because..... I just had to. I was so curious lol. While it’s way weird, I will say, good on them for being innovative. It’s cool to see textures polishes potentially “coming back”..... and the overall theme of Pop Art is way fun I think!
I really appreciate your swatches especially when there are duds because then I know I don’t need to waste my money on these 🙂 I’m hoping you search the new Essie yellow in the gel couture collection
Great review Jess. I did pick up the pink and purple from this collection but I am not a huge fan of texture so I am not sure why. It was the novelty but even with two coats of top coat it is still very bumpy so I will have to pick my moment to wear these. At least OPI are trying. :)
I have the dark blue and the red and I like them I am fairly new to nail polish and have never seen a textured polish before these. No top coat gets me out fast.in the morning.
This collection is more like sugar coats.. I have similar polishes with the same texture but the particles are more white and the base doesn’t have any shimmers.. I was still curious about it! Thanks for your amazing swatches as always 💋
as i read the comments i cant help but feel a sense of de'javu. it sounds exactly like when they introduced matte finish and then again when textured was introduced. Hhmmmm, De'javu... just sayin'
mary vredeveld It kind of reminds me more of the polishes that were opaque but then they put the glitter in it. That you couldn't see. So your polish just looked bumpy and gross.
Love the video Jess. I only ever watch your reviews. Like so many others here though, the textured finishes are not for me - I just think they look untidy 😬 Shame because the colours were really nice x
I always struggle with the application and try to avoid not getting those bubbles when the nail polish is drying...so, why would I buy this? 🙄😀 The colors are ok, but the finish is a big no for me.
I actually considered buying these for the colors until I realized they were textured polishes. I believe textured polishes can be done well, but I would not want a collection that makes my polish appear like it has bubbles. Good review!
On the display I saw in Ulta the other day, it looked like these were supposed to be used as a topper over a similar colored base. There were pictures of how to apply it and everything. I didn't understand why at the time, but seeing how they're sheer and lose texture when layered it makes more sense. I'm also curious now how they'd look if you put different colors on each layer... would the result be an ugly mess? Or just tint the top color a bit?
The instructions say to apply to bare nails and not use a top coat. I bought the deeper blue without realizing it's textured at Gabe's for $3 and I'm definitely gonna try a topper and top coat, see if it de-emphasizes the 'bubbles' because I love the color 😭
I took a set of four minis of these in an airplane (unopened) and I just thought they got messed up in the airplane and they weren't supposed to be like that. if they wanted a textured polish it should have been more obvious 🤷🏻♀️ or just made them regular cremes
Some of the colors are really pretty, but I could not wear these at all. I hate textured nail polish, but it's a sensory/textural thing with me. I rub my fingers over my nails and fidget a lot with my nails, and any bit of texture or chip or large bubble irritates me so bad. Just seeing the texture on these polishes makes me itch a bit. I'll stick to smoother formulas from OPI instead. Still, really liked the purple and blues in this collection, color-wise.
I'm someone who loves textured polish. (I must be one of 5 people on earth who loves Belugaria.) But I'm kind of "meh" on this collection. I think I wanted it to be even more textured.
Yesterday, I was doing some nail art and working with many coats of polish and ended up with some bubbles on one of them. I'm glad to know I'm on trend. But wow, this is the first collection I've seen that was really, truly ugly. I usually enjoy watching your swatch videos because it is so satisfying , but not with these.
e batdorf LoL, sadly that's exactly what Essie was trying to achieve. Coming off the caviar beads someone at Essie said "Hmmm, if we combined caviar beads with polish we could kill one bird or whale with one stone or many, many small ones. The consumers will sooooo love it, they'll think they're saving time AND money." Then the person who approves everything said "You're right! This will make us all a bunch of money!"...lol. I think you may be able to find this person on the streets now, possibly in a shelter... worst decision EVER.
Hello everyone, I'm looking for opi andean culture club. I can not get it in my country. Does anyone know how I can get my hands on it? (I tried eBay can't find it there ether)
At first glance I was excited about the colors especially the bright blue but wow I don't like the texture at all. It reminds me of when you put on the polish too thick and it dries with air bubbles in it. just no.
they look better at one coat....with more coats it looks like you painted your nails under a blowing fan...in high humidity 👎....thanks for the review tho
Confusing is the right word 🤣 to get an opi over here you are basically paying the same price as an indie so why? When there is so much competition on the market why would they do this?
OPI makes excellent liquid sands. They rival Zoya pixies. I hope they come out with more liquid sands. I don’t hate this collection, but they have done way better. The liquid sands are much better than these recent jelly textures and the vinyl textures. Whatever I do respect them wanting to try something new. 💕Alcatraz rocks, sinks, pussy galore were amazing. If they came out with a liquid sand version of all of these colors, it would probably be one of the best collections they’ve ever made. They were so close.
Naomi C Oh God! I hope they bring the Liquid Sand polishes back. Also I think this collection makes the Liquid Sand ones look like the superior texture polish evet made.
Ewww opi what are yalll doingggg. Girl opi tried it lol i am not feeling this collection. Thanks for the video i was just about to head to sally for some new polishes.
I don't get it lol. I hate it when I accidentally get bubbling on the nail when I apply polish... why would I want an entire collection to look like that on purpose? 😂
I commend you on your diplomacy - I'd have been like "what is this shit??"... The colours are beautiful, but, like you say, not unique, but those crappy blobs just ruined it!
This is some of the worst that OPI has done. I think maybe the metallic glitter trend that they tried to make happen a couple of years ago. It's not going to happen OPI! Let it go.
This Collection is kinda like when you walk into forever 21 and see an amazing jacket then turn it around and it says I hate fridays Lmaoo like whyyyyyy lol
Ivy TheGreat 😂😂😂 that’s exactly accurate.
Lol this so describes me! I am so curious to know your age range. I’ll be 30 in September (😫😫😫), so it’s like, I’m young enough to be walking into Forever 21, but “old” enough to be like “sigh.... really?” To the stupid screen print sayings on clothing 😂
Ivy TheGreat best analogy ever!
Angie Lott aka angelang83 lmaooo am 29 and ill 30 in September also lmaooo September 28th... Also We're still young enough for a great Deal no matter what store it is lol
I completely agree! Sometimes simple is best. The letters are bedazzled and OVER THE TOP in your face. It's a complete turn-off for me. LOL
Who want to have bubbles in their nailpolish?
I do not find any sense in this collection...
We just want regular textures. Liquid Sand. I don’t understand these. However, we are always complaining about nothing new in the nail world so I’ll give them an A for trying but it just doesn’t work, in my opinion.
Oh. I commented that before the end, I promise.
I actually got excited because at first glance I thought they WERE LS! Hence my emojis...😭😭😭
I just want NO textures whatsoever. I'm so over it
The bubbled look is supposed to resemble the dots all over the drawings in pop culture comic strips, hence the name.
Both the colors and the texture are clearly inspired by Roy Lichtenstein's pop art (those giant dot art comic style panels with super melodramatic text?). I LOVE Lichtenstein, but these polishes are a pass for me.
The ruined a great collection with the texture thing. Like y tho!? The colors are great and I would love to see them as a regular formula.
I feel like textured polishes always look like I suck at painting my nail. They look so bad on me!
agreed!
Your videos are honestly so soothing to watch. Maybe it's just me but I love watching you apply polish
Me: Gosh, I wish textured polishes would come back; I love them!
*OPI releases this collection*
Me: ...no, not like that.
Memes aside, these looked really ugly. The way the textures were when they first came out, with the different sparkles and shimmers, was perfect. I'm really disappointed.
Wish they weren't bubble effect. Love the colors.
I understand why thematically but they should have stuck with their Liquid Sand formula for these in terms of actually wanting to wear them.
Have to say I just grabbed one of these on clearance and was also a little confused about what they were going for. However I will say they look kind of interesting, but my main plus is the texture. I love the way they feel! I can't stop rubbing them, it's so fun. The aesthetic is fine, but the play value is really up there!
I have watched polish videos but I can only watch you only now!!!!
I am obsessed with polish and love to watch you’re channel❤️
I LOVE texture polishes and I hate these almost as much as the China Glaze Crinkled Chromes!!
Yeah...it's a no for me!
I would love to see a video on how you care for your nails and cuticles to keep them looking so clean and healthy :)
Janet Kay Amen!
I love it when you upload new videos Jess! This collection really isn't my cup of tea at all.
Thank you, Jess, but I will be giving these a miss, I think they are awful, goodness knows what OPI are thinking about. you could get the same effect if you sprinkle sand over while the polish is wet
They should just re release these colors but without that weird ass texture. The colors are beautiful.
i agree 100%. i bought the yellow because i wanted a golden color for my nails and i saw no other brands that contained this color at the store. little did i know my nails would feel like sand paper after application.
Thank you my friend for posting. I tried textured before and just ended up peeling them off because of the bumps in them😞 I would rather not try them again, but the colors are very pretty.
I do also like the shade of Days of Pop too!
Even tho I’m not huge into texture I do love the color of pink bubbly!
I love that pink color but not the texture. What would be a good color match?
Great review Jess. I did pick up the pink and purple from this collection but I am not a huge fan of texture so I am not sure why. It was the novelty but even with two coats of top coat it is still very bumpy so I will have to pick my moment to wear these. At least OPI are trying. :)

Love all kinds different polishes. Why stick to one thing. You only live once and variety is the spice of life. Good on OPI
I need popstar without the bubbles
VolumePerfection China Glaze 'Let's Jam' from the Lite Brights collection is the non textured version. 😊
as i read the comments i cant help but feel a sense of de'javu. it sounds exactly like when they introduced matte finish and then again when textured was introduced. Hhmmmm, De'javu... just sayin'

Love the colors hate the bubble texture!
I don’t like this texture it’s really weird and just looks like you got your nails full of sand. The colours are nice and bright
Quick question did bumpy road ahead stain? It’s gorgeous and has obvious shimmer💙
Do you usually not pain the whole nail or did I miss something?
I really didn't totally dislike these, except the yellow. The yellow looked like raw salted egg yolk. 🤢
Britt H it really does!!!
Shannon Locke 😊😵😊
So true!! Now that you have said it, I cannot unsee it...
diamarieful LOL!
omg that's the exact example I was going to use!
I actually considered buying these for the colors until I realized they were textured polishes. I believe textured polishes can be done well, but I would not want a collection that makes my polish appear like it has bubbles. Good review!

Love your channel - hate these polishes. Especially the yellow.
Do you know any shade dupes for the purple? I love the color, but not the texture. I'm tempted just to get it and try and put top coat over it.
I own the dark blue shade. Not fond of the texture. Remind me of a bad mani where it's flawed and bubbled?
Pop Star ⭐️ is beautiful!
Will you be swatching OPI Peru?
I took a set of four minis of these in an airplane (unopened) and I just thought they got messed up in the airplane and they weren't supposed to be like that. if they wanted a textured polish it should have been more obvious 🤷🏻♀️ or just made them regular cremes

I am confused and disappointed
Great video as always!! Loved the colors but don't like the finish at all..unflattering!!!
Jess, even you couldn't make me like these at all.
The colors are pretty (especially the yellow), but I just can't get behind texture...
I'm someone who loves textured polish. (I must be one of 5 people on earth who loves Belugaria.) But I'm kind of "meh" on this collection. I think I wanted it to be even more textured.
Great review and swatches but the collection isn't that impressive so I'm definitely going to give it a miss.
Unfortunately, I was rushing to find nail polish and saw this... I didn’t read the attached label... it was on sale for 3.99🤷🏽♀️
Yesterday, I was doing some nail art and working with many coats of polish and ended up with some bubbles on one of them.
I'm glad to know I'm on trend.
But wow, this is the first collection I've seen that was really, truly ugly. I usually enjoy watching your swatch videos because it is so satisfying , but not with these.
e batdorf Look up Essie's Belugaria....i think that's spelled right. Ugliest polish ever made, makes these look good...lol
Dawn Figueroa Haha, oh man! It's like fish eggs on nails! I'd say it fits in well with these.
e batdorf LoL, sadly that's exactly what Essie was trying to achieve. Coming off the caviar beads someone at Essie said "Hmmm, if we combined caviar beads with polish we could kill one bird or whale with one stone or many, many small ones. The yellow is so ugly.
If I wanted bubbles in my polish I'd just use Sally Hansen Miracle Grow Strengthener. hahaha
The colors are amazing tho
I just purchased these and complained to OPI about them being “ grainy “ 😂 Had to laugh when they said that was kind if the point 😂
Hello everyone, I'm looking for opi andean culture club. I can not get it in my country. Does anyone know how I can get my hands on it? (I tried eBay can't find it there ether)
thanks, you just saved me a bunch of money!
At first glance I was excited about the colors especially the bright blue but wow I don't like the texture at all. It reminds me of when you put on the polish too thick and it dries with air bubbles in it. just no.
I can make my own textured polish by applying thick coats of nail polish lol this collection is a no go for me 🙅🏻♀️
Love the pink but really not sure about the texture it looks very weird
If I put a top coat, will you still see the texture? I hate textured polishes, they catch lint and ewww
I hate ! it looks like lump, on the liquid sand I add top coat and it goes, but there .... without me, and yet I have a little of all OPI collections
they should have done a 'Champagne Pop' too 😂😂😂😂😂😂 seriously, I hated that texture and what a shame because the colours were so great
So jellies with air bubbles?
I wonder what one coat over a white base would look like
Thanks for the review Jess. I'm confused at what this is supposed to be also. I will definitly not be buying them
Don’t we polish with the idea to AVOID bubbles?! 😆
they look better at one coat....with more coats it looks like you painted your nails under a blowing fan...in high humidity 👎....thanks for the review tho
diamondsandlipgloss that’s a good point. I wonder what they would look like layered over a similar colored smooth base color 🤔
Confusing is the right word 🤣 to get an opi over here you are basically paying the same price as an indie so why? When there is so much competition on the market why would they do this?

I never liked textured polishes, pretty colors though
Ewww opi what are yalll doingggg. Girl opi tried it lol i am not feeling this collection. Thanks for the video i was just about to head to sally for some new polishes.
Beautiful shade range. Poor choice in the texture/finish. I would get annoyed wearing it. I would pick at it constantly.
I liked this video because I love your swatches, but I hate these nail polishes
I don't get it lol. I hate it when I accidentally get bubbling on the nail when I apply polish... why would I want an entire collection to look like that on purpose? 😂
Thays alittle diffrent im not sure if i wanna try that tho 😕
I think the pink and purple look better and prettier at least
I commend you on your diplomacy - I'd have been like "what is this shit??"... The colours are beautiful, but, like you say, not unique, but those crappy blobs just ruined it!
i got the yellow because i liked the color. little did i know it had a very ugly texture
I usually love it when mainstream brands try something different but these are... just no. How did OPI think this was a good idea??
Love your videos so I watched the whole thing but this collection is a hard pass from me😯hate all of them lol
Ok I KIND OF really like Pink Bubbly...🤔
the colors are pretty, but the texture is soo cringy... They look like when i do my nails with the air on, hate when i find little bubbles in my manis
Bubbles no but children's toys or textured vinyl ? May be a refrigerator !
This is some of the worst that OPI has done. I think maybe the metallic glitter trend that they tried to make happen a couple of years ago. It's not going to happen OPI! Let it go.
The blue ones look like cookie monster ;D
I do not find they look appealing to me at all :(
I feel like this is the polish version of buying jeans that are pre-ripped.
Anybody else like rubbing their fingers over textured polish? It feels... pleasing...
Umm I'm not sure how this texture makes me feel ... but it's not in a good way.
The nails look weird. 😳 You always do a great job tho. 😊
My reactions in emoji: 🤔😢🤯🤐
Wonderful review as usual Jess. I think those polishes are butt ugly!
Loved the colors But texture not so much. Just looks like you messed up polish and too lazy to remove polish and do paint them again.
Who else say this bc they bought pink bubbly at the free market and didn’t get it how it works cuz that’s me
Maybe at 44 im showing my age . But that collection is a hot mess. Like don't leave the house... hot mess.
Who thought that yellow was a good idea? Looks exactly like the dry mustard booger stuck to the inside of the cap. Nah
Not for me. I loathe textured polishes, and, those colours - plain and boring.
