But to people like Maddie for example, this was so much more than that, this is what they wanted to do in the future, they wanted a successful career in dance! So the show, dancing, lessons, competitions and the team ,were so so important it came before anything else! If you really really want something you have to put the work in and make it a priority ,you have to try and be more than mediocre! Each season the team got more and more serious and intense, the girls were getting older and competing more frequently and needed to be at the studio even more than they did before. I feel like Abby knew the Hylands wouldn’t fully commit, they had already let the team down in the past by pulling out of things at the last minute to do other things, the team was only getting more well known and intense, meaning Hylands had to choose one of 3 choice, either to work harder and get better, leave on there own back, or wait until Abby replaces them. There was no reason for Kelly to go off like that. Abby was just giving constructive criticism. Moments like this from s1 and s2 are why Abby began to treat Christi & Kelly and their kids the way she did once it began to head toward the later seasons.
But what do Chloe, Brooke, and Paige have to do with the fact that Christi and Kelly choose to act a certain way? Abby needs to be a professional and not let whatever issues she has with the moms affect how she teaches their daughters.
Actually Christi started off defensive but then stopped herself and said... we need to work on it. So... yeah, this does not explain why Abby treated Chloe like garbage.
Jaydee So calling her kids mediocre, saying they're slow, and saying that if she were their mother she would want to crawl into a hole is "constructive criticism"? Really? You're kidding, right?
The way that a parent acts should not affect the way that the kid will be treated. Calling her kids slow and mediocre is not constructive criticism. She treated Chloe, Paige and Brooke the way she did because she couldn’t control their mothers the way she could with Melissa and Jill.
Abby kind of has a point on Brooke and Paige where the oldest in group they should have it first. Nia isn't a brick wall she can't point her feet what neither Abby for Holly have figured out is Nia is flat footed.
none of the moms want criticism, abby was for once not yelling and being rude but letting the moms know what their kids needed to work on. and for once, the moms were definitely in the wrong.
Elisabeth Fanfan Would you want it if your teacher said demeaning, disrespectful things to you and tore down your self-esteem and mental and emotional health? If your mom had to defend you to the teacher all the time, would you want it? I personally feel like they should’ve left in season two, but Abby is mostly at fault.
See, this is where I don't get the argument. Yes, I agree with Kelly loving her kids as they are. Abby says her kids are beautiful, and have so much more potential. Why wouldn't you take the constructive criticism and try to grow and be better at something you enjoy. Even if you don't make it your future..
I mean nia didnt pick up any corrections and from season 1-7 she kept making the same mistakes. The other girls except Kendall and Nia improved moving forward
Christie didn’t talk and idk why but I feel like if she did good at that because I know if she did some tea would be made or a sister screaming match would be made.
NOOOOO!!! Abby meant that what Abby teaches is different than what Holly teaches. Holly teaches Math, English, Geography and all of that boring stuff. Abby teaches dance techniques and raises stars. The things Abby teaches is DIFFERENT than what Holly teaches.
@@green5262 All that "boring stuff" becomes hella useful when you can't make a career of dancing. This is why athletes, dancers, entertainers, actors/actresses, etc are encouraged to stay in school and press on to college so that they have a back up plan if their dreams don't flourish.
Kelly kept on insisting that her kids, by default, weren’t meant to be like Maddie or Chloe, but Brooke _clearly_ used to be the favored dancer of the team because of the titles she would win. When Maddie became Abby’s new favorite, that must have hurt or discouraged her a lot, thus resulting in her losing her passion for dance. But, with Paige, it’s hard to say. However, I don’t think the reason her kids were performing at a “mediocre” level is because they weren’t fit for the competition team. They were obviously on it _before_ the show and were doing matter-of-factly well, especially Brooke. With that aside, I think Abby was fully correct with her criticisms.
Honestly I think that a bit of Brooke and Paige’s love for dance is in a way because of Kelly. I think that Kelly did not push her kids hard enough I mean I do not think she should be like Melissa but maybe be more like Holly or Christi. I think that Holly and Christi push their kids but not to the point to where they cry because they think they disappointed their mothers. I also think that Kelly was always talking about how good her kids were and stuff and how they should be in front but all of the wring things they did in dances Kelly did not seem to care because she was fine with her children being mediocre.
I know everyone loves Kelly, and so do I. But this was so degrading for her to say she’s okay with her kids being “mediocre”. If my mom said that I would’ve been pretty angry, because I wouldn’t want to be called mediocre by anyone.
I don’t think she was saying it like I don’t care that their mediocre she was saying it like “I don’t care if they are sloppy or how you think they should look or be” she cares if they are being treated fairly and if they’re confident and happy with themselves. I get if you thought Kelly was saying something rude about her kids but she was just saying that she doesn’t care what they do in life she’ll still be proud of them no matter what.
I’m not going to lie. Abby was an amazing coach. Tough love was the way she gave it, but when it came down to it, she did love the girls. Season One and Two showcased the way Abby really was before Dance Moms - a dance coach who wanted talented performers. By Season Three, she had done AUDC and become “famous”. It really changed her and she became very cruel towards certain children, mainly Chloe and The Hylands. She started to call children stupid or tell them to get things fixed. It was wrong and abusive. Abby wasn’t always like this and I really was hoping she improved for Season 8. She was better but not the same.
In Season 2.5-3 the producers hijacked the show. It became much more contrived to focus on drama. Because her students not on the show were still saying she was nice but tough. She is an old school teacher so she probably was politically incorrect in her language all along. But she, and the mothers, would have been encouraged to be more politically incorrect and they also removed all the positive scenes that balance the show out. Plus in Season 8 I think she was just generally angry about life.
I feel like Abby wasn't always abusive from her childhood, I felt like the the fame/money changed her attitude, in s1 she was fine and she did had tough love for the girls but in s2.5/3, she changed into a teacher that was verbally/emotionally/mentally abusive. I totally get where she is coming from because she had hatred towards Kelly, Christi & Holly but it's totally inexcusable of the treatment that she subjected Nia, Paige, Brooke & Chloe into.
@@marvincorre4783 she HATED Jojo when she was on the show but I think one of the reasons they have a good relationship now is that Jojo was one of the only girls to visit her when she was in the hospital
These moms want their kids to be professional dancers but, when they get a nice correction they get mad? As a performer myself I have gotten way meaner corrections then this. Dance is a hard business to be in and it involves alot of honesty (opinion wise) and, if these mothers don't want to hear corrections they might as well take their child/children out of dance.
"If we're not #1 we don't care"👌that's how i see the classes in uni! unironically😂you can't give your best at everything always, it burns your nerv ends.
Here's what I realized about Kelly's children vs Melissa's children: Kelly's children treated dance like a hobby. I seriously doubt they wanted it to be their future career. Now Melissa's children, especially Maddie, she was the one that you could say treated dance like it would be her future career. Which is why Abby invested so much time into her compared to others. She really wanted dance to be her career.

Because Kelly saw it as a fun thing to do for an after school activity unlike the rest of the moms who saw it as their kids futures. Like now: maddie is doing acting, modeling, etc. Chloe is doing college & taking acting jobs & ballet classes as well as other dance classes. Kenzie is doing UA-cam channels, performing, doing music videos, acting, singing, etc and getting back into dance classes, Nia is in college, she’s still doing acting like she did a LifeTime movie, etc. these girls are the girls who are mostly still in the public eye unlike Paige & Brooke who took a step back and did public high school, went to high school football games, etc they did normal teen stuff like go to parties, participate in homecoming, etc and did other things.
abby gives good corrections (sometimes with poor choice of words) because she sees what they need to work on and let them know, these moms need to chill
Mohammed Azad or maybe they just cut the clip of what Abby said to Melissa? Perhaps Melissa just also agreed with Abby and wasn’t as combative as Kelly. Abby was right. This is an elite competition team.... everyone needs to strive to be the best they can be. If Kelly's girls don't want it that badly, then don't take up space on the team. Brooke and Paige just want to be average, and there is nothing wrong with that..... but you can't be like that on a competition team.
No. Kelly's just being sarcastic. It's five hours of dance, six hours at school, meals, morning routines, night routines, homework etc. In season two Abby said "4:30p.m to 9:30p.m Monday, Tuesday, Wendnesday, Thursday, Friday." That's five hours of dance. The law is that no one is allowed to have to be in a school building for more than 6 hour and 30 minutes a day.

okay but i feel like abby didn’t do anything wrong like she spoke very clearly to the moms in a way that they should’ve just taken it and went on and corrected their kids mistakes
What amazes me is that Kelly said that they have 12 hours at dance and 8 hours at school. So that adds up to 20 hours. So they only get 4 hours of sleep? Also, the kids are like 8, 9 and 10 and Abby is saying that some kid is doing 14 hours of dance?? Even 12 hours of dance is INSANE, like most kids have like 5 hours of their sport each day maximum. Geese Abby, you put way too much pressure on these kids, no wonder why there always stressed!
I hate how kelly said that her kids are mediocre and she had accepted it already like i think that a mother will always want your kids to be the best they can be so i don't really get her

I like how Kelly was like “yes my kids aren’t the best but I love them the way they are” bc none of the other moms have ever said that
Holly has and so has Christi.
That was literally Christi’s motto the entire time Chloe was on the show
“It’s like comparing Apples to Oranges”
Well, they are both fruits
Yes but different types like holly and Abby are both teachers but different education like the fruit
Yeah but Abby doesn't know what a fruit is so...
Abby kind of has a point on Brooke and Paige where the oldest in group they should have it first. Nia isn't a brick wall she can't point her feet what neither Abby for Holly have figured out is Nia is flat footed.
Miss Amanda's world she didn’t call her a brick wall, she said it’s like talking to a brick wall
@@katywuste9054 right. She was basically saying Nia doesn't apply the corrections she's being given.
Also nia overextends her hands and feet in the dances. She lack controll there and it sticks out like a soar thumb
I love the way holly speaks to abby, she stands up for nia yet she isn’t rude about it.
Nothing Abby said in this video was wrong.🤷🏾♀️
There’s a lot she said that was wrong but continue being dumb 🤷🏽♀️
The corrections she gave were true but she didn’t say them in the right way and continued to make belittling comments.
Kellys always has something to say 😂
Christi’s face in the thumbnail lol.
😂😂
Lmao
“I don’t care if my kids are mediocre” ... i’ve never heard a parent day that. Wow...
I love how we didn’t get to see correction for Melissa
Abby was right here. Kelly had no reason to go off on Abby like that. She didn’t say anything wrong
“I would crawl in a hole if I was their mother” “they’re mediocre” that’s not being a teacher and that’s not constructive criticism.
She literally called them “slow” what do you mean
none of the moms want criticism, abby was for once not yelling and being rude but letting the moms know what their kids needed to work on. and for once, the moms were definitely in the wrong.
Kelly: 12 hours of dance and 8 hours of school is a lot
Me: sooo they only sleep for 4 hours?
...oop-
That’s what I was thinking
I thought the same
What about homework and eating?
@@nandini1790 Oh yeah...
Why did Kelly have to start an argument, like really Kelly?
Natalie Clare that’s kelly
Because Abby called her children slow, mediocre, and said she'd crawl in a hole if she were their mother. Duh.
Natalie Clare, that was her choice, not yours.
@@oliviaaa3096 but abby had a point you even tell in dances chloe maddie kendall and nia wantes it they did not
Elisabeth Fanfan Would you want it if your teacher said demeaning, disrespectful things to you and tore down your self-esteem and mental and emotional health? If your mom had to defend you to the teacher all the time, would you want it? I personally feel like they should’ve left in season two, but Abby is mostly at fault.
I love how she said chloe needed more self confidence but did nothing to help her with that
See, this is where I don't get the argument. Yes, I agree with Kelly loving her kids as they are. Abby says her kids are beautiful, and have so much more potential.
Why wouldn't you take the constructive criticism and try to grow and be better at something you enjoy. Even if you don't make it your future..
There is no point in investing in dance and spending all your time, basically giving up your childhood if your not gonna have a career in dance.
Abby: I’m Abby le Miller I don’t have to do anything!”
Me: just like you didn’t have to pay your insurance.
BUSTED!!!!!😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Did they photoshop Abby’s body at the end 😂🤨
Lily Stringer no because she did lose weight
I don't think she lost that much weight
r e n a n b a s a r LOL MANY VIDS HAVE THESE HAHA
For sure
Darreyl Henderson she did when she was in the hospital
Abby: "I sat them down in a very non-combative environment."
Also Abby: "Talking to your child is like talking to that brick wall over there."
Did Abby call herself an orange? Lol😂😂
Cdog284 😂😂
More like a pumpkin
@@rivvqrxc I was just about to say that!
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Kelly is my mood on Monday with the crown thing and when she left 😂
I disagree with Kelly's behavior here..need to learn how to take criticism.
I love how christi and holly dealt with this
Honestly I think that a bit of Brooke and Paige’s love for dance is in a way because of Kelly.
Exactly
She really didn’t improve in season 8 tbh
THIS
These moms want their kids to be professional dancers but, when they get a nice correction they get mad? As a performer myself I have gotten way meaner corrections then this. Dance is a hard business to be in and it involves alot of honesty (opinion wise) and, if these mothers don't want to hear corrections they might as well take their child/children out of dance.
i don’t understand how i haven’t found a comment abt christi’s face in the thumbnail😂😂
😂😂😂
"If we're not #1 we don't care"👌that's how i see the classes in uni! unironically😂you can't give your best at everything always, it burns your nerv ends.
Abby: It’s like apple to orange.
Me: I like oranges😂
Here's what I realized about Kelly's children vs Melissa's children:
Kelly's children treated dance like a hobby. I seriously doubt they wanted it to be their future career.
Now Melissa's children, especially Maddie, she was the one that you could say treated dance like it would be her future career. Which is why Abby invested so much time into her compared to others. She really wanted dance to be her career.
THANK YOU
Besides the fact how she talks about the girls i think it is very good to do this Kind of circle and review everybodys work
Abby said "Holly is an educator TOO!"
She's the only educator in the room sweet pea!
So what you call abby? A dance TEACHER is an educator too. She TEACH dance which some people major in college. Some of y'all comments sounds so dumb
@@billionairesdreamz4217 Let me help you with your grammar sweetheart!
**So, what WOULD you call Abby
- capitalize the first letter in someone's name.
She TEACHES dance
- Not teach. Simple verb conjugation. Also, there should be a comma here.
Which some people major in college.
- You should have changed your sentence structure in this part, you should've learned this in fifth grade. Instead, you should've changed it to (**some people actually choose dance as a major in college.)
Some of y'all comments sound so dumb.
- despite popular southern belief, "Y'all" is not a word!
Next time you choose to call someone else dumb, please consult your 5th grade phonics book!
YOU'RE WELCOME!!!
I luv how kelly loves her kids no matter what she is a amazing mom😍💗❤😘
Honestly I feel like Kelly is the only one who didn't take dance that seriously.
Because Kelly saw it as a fun thing to do for an after school activity unlike the rest of the moms who saw it as their kids futures. Like now: maddie is doing acting, modeling, etc. Chloe is doing college & taking acting jobs & ballet classes as well as other dance classes. Kenzie is doing UA-cam channels, performing, doing music videos, acting, singing, etc and getting back into dance classes, Nia is in college, she’s still doing acting like she did a LifeTime movie, etc. these girls are the girls who are mostly still in the public eye unlike Paige & Brooke who took a step back and did public high school, went to high school football games, etc they did normal teen stuff like go to parties, participate in homecoming, etc and did other things.
can we all appreciate the fact that kelly is just a lovely mother-
Kelly’s the only one who actually stood up for her kids !
I don't think Kelly knew what mediocre meant tbh in that moment
Abby makes the moms fight
Abby: Smack their heads together Me: Ouch I had something like that happen to me except my dog
abby gives good corrections (sometimes with poor choice of words) because she sees what they need to work on and let them know, these moms need to chill
“I’m Abby lee miller I don’t have to do anything”. You kinda have to breathe...
Why didn't Abby say anything to mellisa about maddie. What is she flawless nothing wrong she is the best?!👎
Mohammed Azad or maybe they just cut the clip of what Abby said to Melissa? Perhaps Melissa just also agreed with Abby and wasn’t as combative as Kelly. Keep in mind that this is also a show that they film for hours a week and then they only show us snippets of what has happened throughout the whole time, and they show the most drama filled parts.
Haley Clark Melissa gets annoyed too whenever Abby criticizes Maddie they probably just made Abby do this for the show and say how she really felt
Melissa was out of town
they probably thought Kelly's tantrum was the best point to end the scene- for the purpose of good TV
Mohammed Azad ikr she acts like she's perfect and she's not
Does anyone else thinks it's a bit sad that kelly said her kids are mediocre 😔
2:36 christi's face 😂
What about maddie and kenzie
They cut it out.
Kelly: “12 hours a day at dance, 8 hours a day at school” wait they sleep for 4 hours??
Abby: I want more, i want more, i want more, i want more!
Me: Put some more!
it’s funny now like kelly is like the girl in school who always gets in trouble and always is told to leave class for bad mouthing or something😂
" I'm Abby Lee Miller, I don't have to do anything!"
Hon, u do nothing!
"I'm Abby Lee Miller I don't have to do anything" Except go to court and all that
Kelly was being real like they are just kids. Shouldnt be having a nervous breakdown over d a n c e.
Kelly looked offended before Abby talked to her, i feel like she is dramatic SOMETIMES
Like all the moms always think everything is wrong like u pay abby to make them better and she is telling u what u need to work on she is trying to help the kids
The thumbnail is such a mood
I agree with Abby
Kelly’s kids aren’t getting better at all
Abby was giving constructive criticism she didn’t even compare her kids to Madrid and Chloe
Okay but Holly was in the wrong too here. All Abby said was Nia doesn't apply the corrections about her feet over and over and over again and Abby is making a comparison about how she feels that Nia doesn't listen, just like a wall about how it does nothing and goes nowhere.
Holly is the best dance mom she is so mature and sophisticated
You know the drill

2:Mackenzie
3: Paige
4: Brooke
5: Nia
6: Kendall

kelly is such a legend and a great mom i miss her
Kelly Kelly for the first time Ellie was not putting your guards down she was telling you something to help you get your daughter's on track everywhere they go and to make them completely successful in their career
This is one of those moments where Abby is right she is literally just giving feedback and the moms cant handle it
Abby was right. This is an elite competition team.... everyone needs to strive to be the best they can be. If Kelly's girls don't want it that badly, then don't take up space on the team. Brooke and Paige just want to be average, and there is nothing wrong with that..... but you can't be like that on a competition team.
How hard is it to sit there, listen, and nod🙄😂
So, they get 4 hours of sleep
I miss Kelly
I love how Holly Kelly Christy stand up to Abbey
U know the drill!
1. Maddie
2. Mackenzie
3. Brooke
4. Kendall
5. Paige
6. Nia

Holly constantly denies the dance 💃 problems that Nia has (even without Abby).

Who still watches this in 2019
I don't get why they're talking back to Abby. This is the ONE time Abby's critiquing them in a nice and professional manner and Christi is the only one who didn't talk back
kelly has no right to be mad that abby isn't giving her kids opportunities based on what she said here. most be frustrating for abby that 1/3 of her team doesn't wanna be there when there is a whole world out there that do. watching this should make everyone get why abby wanted a new team. season 8 is great because those kids want it. and abby loved paige, brooke and chloe here, she complimented every single one of them. ig their mothers' attitude ruined it for them, shame
Is no one going to talk about the thumbnail 😂😂
okay but i feel like abby didn’t do anything wrong like she spoke very clearly to the moms in a way that they should’ve just taken it and went on and corrected their kids mistakes
I hate how kelly said that her kids are mediocre and she had accepted it already like i think that a mother will always want your kids to be the best they can be so i don't really get her
I feel like Kelly shouldn’t have lashed out like that. Abby was just helping and giving results to try and make her kids better. Tbh, Brooke and Paige can’t dance.
Liv • Brooke can, Paige not so much
Are you dumb or just trying to be rude? Abby said her kids are slow, mediocre, and she'd crawl in a hole if she were their mother. Don't tell me you wouldn't be angry if someone said that to your mother about you or to you about your kids.
Keep the critics to yourself, they CAN dance, that’s why Abby teaches them. They work hard and you’re telling us “Tbh, they can’t dance”, it’s not like YOU can dance better than them
Tbh have you even watched full episode
. Cause they are amazing
Why does Abby have to always hurt people's feelings?
I never liked that Kelly want her daughters to be mediocre, that’s not a good example for them, also why Kelly started fighting about nothing, Abby was just giving constructive criticism she wasn’t being rude or mean WTH Kelly🙄
