I just looked at the file in my screen recording software, and indeed the camera source was recorded at 8fps! I'm assuming it lowers the frame rate when the system gets taxed.
Another great tutorial! I have a question: when I zoom in or out in Geo Layers on small islands like Tuvalu, the ocean becomes choppy and looks weird. Do you have any idea why this happens, or does Geo Layers not support this kind of zooming?
It's most likely the satellite imagery at that zoom. You could go nuts and photoshop something and then pin it to your map at that zoom level. And THEN use this script to fade it in when you are zoomed in. Bing bang boom.
Hi Boone, is it just my laptop or is your video lagging? I ran another one of your videos, and it was smooth. Might want to check the frame rates on this one it feels like it's lagging a bit. Thank You!❤
Thanks for the heads up! The facecam indeed is lagging, but the animation preview in AE is actually set to skip frames. 🤣 Sorry this must be very strange I know. I should've said something before.
Im sorry if this is a completly stupid question, I'm pretty new to after effects but. Isn't more simple to make this scene a 3D scenario where the camera zooms through the clouds and those just slightly fade and zoom out? Again i dont understand completely why are you doing it this way so if somebody could explain it to me i would be very grateful
You can actually do this in this same scenario, but this expression can be used on ANY parameter, allowing you to avoid adding and shifting keyframes on elements. So essentially the zoom can control a ton of different layers.
@@Bosuteki yes, and if you are making changes to the map this will speed up those changes without having to adjust every keyframe. In the first part of the lesson he give a good example of how this is a better way to do this.
Brother please read this comment.i bave a problem in geolayers when ever i save geolayer project and close after effects and whenever i open the geolayer project file the layers in geolayers panel got disapear and i can't esit anymore....plzzz helpp😢
In the facecam yes! And the preview playback of AE was set to skip frames, so that looks like it's lagging but it's not... sorry I didn't mention that in the video! 🤣
Hi Boone, really love your videos, can you make a video on how to makes beautiful colour graded maps like in these videos ua-cam.com/users/shorts59PtS191PYE, or these ua-cam.com/video/DplgNsjOPRg/v-deo.html, really appreciate the work you are doing for all of us ♥

How to make these clouds
bro, I want to know your computer specs of running Geolayers 3? RAM GPU Storage? and does M1 MacBook could run it? Thanks
A MacBook could totally get the job done. But you still need to optimize the parameters of After Effects and GEOlayers to run smoothly.

@@BooneLovesVideo ohh so it's like having a template that is more useful if you do things like this a lot?

What is your pc specs and whats the best for 3d map animations
I have a pimped out ASUS Zenbook Pro Duo, and I really have no idea what the best specs are, sorry!

Hey! Close the GEOlayers panel and then reopen. Press the mapcomp settings menu button to see if it refreshes.
@@BooneLovesVideo ok brother
this is more complicated somehow
If you're working with a more complex map, trust me this is useful.
there is lag in your video ?
In the facecam yes! And the preview playback of AE was set to skip frames, so that looks like it's lagging but it's not... sorry I didn't mention that in the video! 🤣
Face cam is lagging bro
Yeah my software can't handle the heat. :/
