If you turn off the Electronic Image Stabilization, doesnt the Smooth S5 woble and the DJI OM 6 start jittering? How is that cinematic? Your phone is the cinematic one. Doing most of the heavy lifting. These are no more usefull that a broom stick at this point. Youll correct me if Im wrong 😂
For me reason number one for the DJI OM6 is the compatibility with the DJI Mic. It looks like you cover up the lightning port of your iPhone while using the Zhiyun Smooth 5s.
It’s great you can film longer with the 6 hour battery. Well does your iPhone have enough space to hold 6 hours of footage and can you hold a iPhone for 6 hours. Even if you only shoot for a couple minutes. I would buy the DJI and it has better controls on the thumb

Osmo mobile series except osmo mobile 2 has the tilt angle limitation. I had purchased OM4 and returned it because of this drawback. Crain shots and fly through can't be done with om series. I still use my osmo mobile 2 with i phone 13. Only problem is that when you switch to extra wide angle, the gimbal motor can be visible. I don't use gimbal app for shoots. Using filmic pro and Beast Cam. If yo you want to shoot in log then use filmic pro. pls watch 'wide angle vibes' in you tube. You will find some videos created by me.
I have both gimbles and I love the DJI mobile 6 for faster set up and on the move but when I'm setting up to do a music video, have more time and want to get more type of shots, ill use my gimble 5s. if your only in the market for one then you really need to figure out what you would like to use it for and what would fit you needs. I got both so I'm not limited on what kind of content Id like to shoot
Thanks for watching. Well I for run and gum shooting I’ll mostly stick with the DJI Osmo Mobile as its compact and quick to setup. I don’t use third party lenses that often but if I do, like using the telephoto lens I go handheld :)

I pick OM6 just because of the price and the portability. I dont understand why Zhiyun cant be folded the same way as OM6. I have an Zhiyun crane and if I would be bothered to do the same thing with my phone, id rather just use my bigboy setup instead. If only OM6 would last at least 12hours minimum
Thank you for this video comparison. I have the Zhiyun Smooth 4. Unfortunately, this last drop has taken it out! When plugging it into the power source, nothing lights up. I have dropped it repeatedly because of its bulky size, and you are right. It does not fit in most bags. This was an excellent point to bring up to new Gimbal customers. If Zhiyun solved that problem, it would leave DJI behind. Now, I have to purchase another gimble and fast. As a real estate agent, 70% of what I shoot is indoors, in low light, and with Atlanta weather, that might be closer to 80%. I like the wide lens option for shooting in tight spaces. When it comes to real-estate videos there are a few options. You might want to check out the new Insta360 Flow gimbal: ua-cam.com/video/25yHvJmSyWE/v-deo.html. It has become my new go-to gimbals as it offers many great features that I missed on the DJI OM 6. If you have a difficult time using a gimbal you might consider getting a slider such as the movie maker 2 by grip gear. Combining this with a tripod and you can get some precisely and professional shots. If you are filming in low light conditions and want to use the ultra-wide lens, it best to use a third party ultra-wide lens on the built-in wide lens for better low light results. Sandmarc offers a great ultra wide lens.

I purchased the OM6, it’s a light gimbal and it is. Just add a iPhone 13 pro max and extend the pole. It gets very heavy very quick. I returned it, just couldn’t hold for more than 2-4 minutes. Think of getting the 5S. Thanks for the review.

I have been using the smooth5s with lenses and DJI mic on a Iphone 14 Pro Max, works totally fine. I just need to move the phone to the left to get some space for the receiver.
This video gave me the impress that not much testing was done before recording. Moreover, I have the DJI OM6 and the Zhiyun 5, which is very similar: - DJI Mimo app would not give you an audio signal when you hit record - Zhiyun ZY Cami will give an audio signal, which is important as there is no tally light on either gimbal - When extended, the DJI OM6 controls are near the hard. With an extender for the Zhiyun, it moves the controls out of reach of the hands - Controlling the gimbal movements are also different when you pan up and down on each gimbal. For example, in Horizontal needs to flip left and vertical, flip right - Not sure how often people would need vortex mode in either gimbal - ZY Cami and DJI OS6 would allow me to record in 4K 60 FPS which the native app doesn’t when I tested on an IPHONE 12 Pro Max As for your Advertisement / Commercial Break, have you considered using a news ticker at the bottom to advertise you Film Maker courses, with link to find out more. I just scroll / scrub past these breaks as every video creator out there has a course. Causes me to switch off

I have an iPhone 14 Pro Max and am thinking about getting this gimbal. I also want to get the DJI Mic, like the one you're wearing. One thing I can't tell is if the mic will work or not. I want to use the mic attached to my iPhone while on the gimbal. Although it looks like the gimbal would probably handle the extra weight, I don't know if the phone AND the receiver will fit properly in their mount. Using their mount, it looks like the receiver (since it will sit at the bottom of the phone) will be close to the gimbal, as well as pushing the phone to be more "off balance" in mount. Maybe I'm overthinking it. It might be a decent video idea, to see how the DJI Mic works with the gimbals, while the receiver is attached to the phone. Does the receiver hit the Zhiyun gimbal when rotating the phone? How does it work with the Osmo 6 or 5? Or, maybe you already have a video on that and I missed it. If so, please reply with said video. Thank you. :-)
Yes by off balancing the phone on the Zhiyun Smooth 5s it will work with the Dji mic. However I find it more convenient with the dji om 6. I have a video on that here: ua-cam.com/video/LGIZwe9lSoc/v-deo.html

The magnets are pretty strong against winds and shakes however if you accidentally push the phone which happened to be it can fall off. It better to use a gimbal with a built in clamp, or use a rig to secure it.
With a third party telephoto lens you get the extra reach up to 5x closer. Further more you’ll achieve better low light quality as the 3x lens doesn’t perform that well in dimly lit situations :).

I think people overlook DJI gimbals come with Mimo and that software seems to be half the equation. I love the the in-app tips and templates for making shorts
A problem with the OM6 is that you can't always hold the unit in a "normal" way if you need to do a crane-type shot. You need to hold it sideways, otherwise the motors get in the way of the actual phone. There is much more freedom with the Smooth 5.
“FREEDOM”?? You have to manually change from portrait to landscape mode! You don’t have magnets to lock up the phone. The app is TERRIBLE, OM6 starts and turns off Automatically. Which “freedom” is that?? 😂
Yes, that's a common issue with DJI gimbals. They make those cool floor-to-sky crane-like shots very hard to impossible to shoot. I suggest looking elsewhere if you want to get the most from a 3-axis gimbal.
I really want to get the dji osmo 6 bc I have had gimbals in the past and they way its made its very unconfortable to travel with. I have give up on lenses since the Iphone already has 3 cameras but filters that is something that actually makes a diference on the quality of the videos I found a Multi-Camera Filter Mount V3moon hack to use 52mm filters I really wonder if the dji would handle it
I do have both and I want to say that OSMO for travelling for sure, but Smooth 5S it's a pleasure to use for cinematic and movements

Yes that is a bit of an issue but you could slide the phone to leave space for the port.
One thing hard to speak about is the gimbal compatibility with the photo/ video functions of phone. Also the tracking in zoom might be a problem.

Zhiyun for sure. It has all the movements one would expect to have in a gimbal.

Zhiyun makes the Smooth Q4 that folds more compact than the Smooth 5 and 5S, but it has similar limits to the OM6.

The OM6 can't make a push pull movement while filming horizontaly while you made that exact move with the Zhiyun Smooth 5s, not the best comparison

I would go for the 100mm, as you don’t have to be up close with the lens to achieve a macro shot

Another plus for Osmo 6 is being able to use the DJI wireless mic. There isn't enough room with the Zhiyun to add the receiver to the phone.

It can handle it however the performance is not as good as with a lighter iPhone therefore I would recommend the smooth 5s by Zhiyun

DJI Mimo does beep when REC start/stop and also outputs a shutter sound in photo mode. Your phone is probably on mute if you don't hear these sounds.

If you want to be safe, its best to use a regular clamp for these situations

Maybe I'm overthinking it. It might be a decent video idea, to see how the DJI Mic works with the gimbals, while the receiver is attached to the phone. Does the receiver hit the Zhiyun gimbal when rotating the phone? How does it work with the Osmo 6 or 5? Or, maybe you already have a video on that and I missed it. If so, please reply with said video. Thank you. :-)
Yes by off balancing the phone on the Zhiyun Smooth 5s it will work with the Dji mic. However I find it more convenient with the dji om 6. I have a video on that here: ua-cam.com/video/LGIZwe9lSoc/v-deo.html

@@BenettGraezer quick question. I noticed in the video, you said you are using the OM5 and that you had to use the iPhone 13 because your 13 pro max may have been too heavy while using the DJI Mic. Do you think the OM6 has gotten better with weight distribution because I plan on using my iPhone 14 Pro Max with the DJI Mic on the OM6. Do you think I’ll run into a problem as far as weight goes?
The terms of max payload capacity, it its still the same. For a setup like yours it might be best to use the Zhiyun Smooth 5s.

Both are great, for me I like to use the dji om 6 because of the magnetic clamp and built in extension pole.

yes the magnetic light can be switched.

Dji can NOT handle max iPhones. It strangles.

If I shoot a video while riding a bike off-road using the DJI Osmo 6, can it securely hold the phone? How strong is the magnetic attachment?
The magnets are pretty strong against winds and shakes however if you accidentally push the phone which happened to be it can fall off. It better to use a gimbal with a built in clamp, or use a rig to secure it.

With that setup you are better off with the Zhiyun Smooth 5s

Quick question: WHY USING an extra tele lens on iphone that already have a 3x lens?? Any REALLY noticeable improvements??
With a third party telephoto lens you get the extra reach up to 5x closer. Further more you’ll achieve better low light quality as the 3x lens doesn’t perform that well in dimly lit situations :).

It depends on the weight. For small mobiles Dji is ok. But when it comes for big ones smooth all the way.
I think people overlook DJI gimbals come with Mimo and that software seems to be half the equation.

Depending how you execute the move there can be a little bit of shake in it, so adding some post stabilization can help smoothen it out :)

A problem with the OM6 is that you can't always hold the unit in a "normal" way if you need to do a crane-type shot. You need to hold it sideways, otherwise the motors get in the way of the actual phone. There is much more freedom with the Smooth 5.

“FREEDOM”?? You have to manually change from portrait to landscape mode!
You don’t have magnets to lock up the phone.
The app is TERRIBLE, OM6 starts and turns off Automatically.

Yes, that's a common issue with DJI gimbals. They make those cool floor-to-sky crane-like shots very hard to impossible to shoot. I suggest looking elsewhere if you want to get the most from a 3-axis gimbal.

I really want to get the dji osmo 6 bc I have had gimbals in the past and they way its made its very unconfortable to travel with. I have give up on lenses since the Iphone already has 3 cameras but filters that is something that actually makes a diference on the quality of the videos I found a Multi-Camera Filter Mount V3moon hack to use 52mm filters I really wonder if the dji would handle it
