Scythe series - SO good. My coworker and I buddy-read all 3 back to back and were constantly jabbering to each other at work about the plot twists and all the "oh my gosh!" moments. And picked out scythe names for each other and picked the color of our cloaks. And we are both grown adults. Like in our 50s. People who turn up their nose at YA are stupid.
The scythe trilogy was also in my top ten this year! (currenly halfway through The Toll). I think my #1 book this year might have to be The House In The Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune!! Such a warm and heartfelt story. I also loved Cemetery Boys and Felix Ever After!
The top 5 books I read this year are Mistborn, The seven husbands of Evelyn Hugo, An ember in the ashes, Red White and Royal blue and Daisy Jones and the six ❤️ These were my absolute favourites. I ended up giving 5 stars to many other books as well like Her Royal Highness, The Unhoneymooners, Scythe, Clap when you land etc.
Beartown is one of my favorite books of all time, and I’m so happy to see someone else who loves it too!!! Definitely checking out the video where you read it!!! 😊🥰
This year I read Scythe and was the best book of 2020 for me, I neeeeed to read the rest of the trilogy now (and see your videos talking about them too). Happy new year!
I keep hearing such amazing things about Legendborn; I really need to pick up my ARC of it soon! Also, I've mentioned this before but please read the House in the Cerulean Sea! I'm sure you'd love it!
I read the scythe series and that was so good. But my number 1 favorite book this year has to go to “ we were liars” by Lockhart. My heart is in pieces!
Favorite books? The girl who played with fire A good girl's guide to murder Noteworthy The beautiful ones The city we became ... It's a variety of genres. But worth it.
For anything truly lighthearted without any grim/dark themes you'd likely be looking mostly at middlegrade. I really love the Keepers of the Lost Cities series. But for some recommendations that have some dark themes but are really fun and full of adventure are; -Legendborn by Tracy Deonn (Holy Guacamole this was good) -The Other Side of the Sky by Amie Kaufman -The Ember in the Ashes series by Sabaa Tahir (O.M.G) -A Song of Wraiths and Ruin (can't wait for more of this world and these great characters)
The Toll was mine last year. This year my #1 is the last book in the An Ember In The Ashes series, which is, A Sky Beyond the Storm. Very close but just didn't quite make it, was The House in the Cerulean Sea by T J Klune. That one definitely was a surprise for me. Great top 10.
I read scythe and thunderhead this year and I'm just about done with the toll and with the way thunderhead tore my heart out at the end im scared to finish the toll. Ill update this when I finish it 🙃
I really loved beartown it and the sequel made my best of 2020 list. I had read Fredrik backmans other works but beartown was better. Also I made a top list of 2020 (11 books) but I couldn't order them 🙈

The Scythe series all 5 stars for me, and Addie LaRue my favorite of this year, also a 5 star
Every Last Word, A Monster Calls, The Son of Neptune, The Night Circus, Hollowpox , Kingdom of Ash and Skyward were some of my favorites of the year

Most surprising read this year was Dangerous Remedy by Kat Dunn, a low fantasy similar to Sixth of Crows set during the French Revolution!

The beautiful ones
The city we became
... It's a variety of genres. But worth it.
I think you'll enjoy Us Against You by Fredrik Backman which is the second book in the Beartown series. Also Backman is pronounced as Baakman.
Ahh thanks for correcting me! I’ll be sure to say it right next time! 🥰
DOGGGOOOOOO
Love all your videos! Where did you buy that green sweater from? It's so cute 😍
Thank you!! 🥰 it’s from Free People!
Please recommend some light hearted (not dark or grim) fantasy novels which are full of adventure, friendship and great characters💖
