+Rifl3man Yes, this is right. the Mazda is louder and a bit more instabile at 220 Km/h than (for example) a VW Passat.
@@jakelamotta2387 hi Jake, your point is interesting. With a TD its beneficial to try and keep the car in the mid rev band 2-4k rpm. Yes the mazda has a wee bit past this but when you look at the torque curve, it drops off just after 4k
@@gaffnaldo1 Totally get what ur saying but Im jst stating I have timed 0-60 shifting at 4400 then at 5300 and it was almost identical only wen u hit like 75mph it starts to lag.
@@jakelamotta2387 The earlier MZR-CD engine had peak power at 3500rpm. The is the SkyActiv model which does pull very cleanly and strongly all the way to 5000rpm.
A dropping torque curve doesn't mean there's less power, since torque * revs means power. Having less torque at 4600rpm than at 3800rpm may still result in more power available at 4600rpm, thus shifting late is still recommended. Then, in the video, you can see that the acceleration between 180 and 200 takes more time than the bit between 200 and 220 - and 4K rpm is 200km/h. Somehow, the engine finds a bit more power above 4K than just below it.
are skyactiv engines with direct injection as prone to carbon build up as others? i was looking into getting the mazda6 until i found out it was a gdi.. makes me hesitant. i want a car that wont have to be in the shop every 50k miles to remove the build up... i also know nothing really about cars and wouldnt feel comfortable trying to clean it myself. toyotas dont interest me, honda accord is my other choice however the newer models are also gdi engines.
Mary Fink If its small town running about i wouldnt get a diesel if you do motorway/highway miles at least once a month then it will be fine. They only clog up if you dont do heavy acceleration on them but companies have additives to keep them clear and can come out to clear diesels now.
no Mazda's GDI engines have a special EGR system which eliminates any sort of carbon build up. all in all, their new skyactiv engines have been very reliable and dependable.

+Lukas Kocag Hallo Lukas. 1.
(Ebenfalls CD175 Fahrer, jedoch Automatik)

+austprodriver Thank you a lot :). Very interesting to know that the manual shift version isn't available in Australia. Thank you for the Information. It's a pity, because the manual gearbox fits perfect to this car (in my opinion i have to say).
No problem, I'm just giving credit where it's due. The take up of past Mazda 6 models with the manual gearbox was around 2%, so, according to Mazda Australia, the sales volume wasn't there to justify a manual version :-(. My 2014 Mazda 3 SP25 is manual, and it's an excellent car.

When you go over 120km/h a chime will ring a couple of times and a little 120km amber light will light up on the instrument cluster

Usually there is no limit in Germany so there is no need for a sign like that.
