Drumeo has a great video of Sugarfoot Moffet playing this- it’s amazing to watch.
you are great!!! and btw ... probably the best drum teacher I ever heard in my 60 years of living
I'm so happy that a musician came forward and said " do not copy pattern ".. originality and feel for learning gives you as (drummer)+intrepid finality=constancy.. not in that order will never let you down..it keeps you going anywhere.. thank you ❤
The one person who knows how to play this song (and a lot of other Micheal Jackson songs) is Jonathan Mofet who toured together with Micheal Jackson for several years/tours as the drummer
Great tuition. Keep up the fantastic work.
Absolutely love your vibe! Super fun to watch and the lessons are on point. Well done! :)
A bit like his other killer off Thriller "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'". The opening bars still give me goosebumps. Packed tight and served loose.
“I’m not going to teach you this note for note.” I’m also not going to teach the singer to count. 😂
This was awesome.
This is something I have struggled with for yrs. Not this song but you have raised a very strong point in my opinion. I have been trying to play songs beat for beat and have been measuring my drumming ability by this mental gymnastical head fuck. Ive realized this is dangerous to my learning progress and should avoid it if I want to improve. Ive lost yrs of practice due to being disheartened by this process. Penny for your thoughts.
@aussiefarmer8741 my thoughts fwiw - music is not about copying someone else's work but making it your own. They played it their way - you play it your way. Copying can be useful in learning, but if that's all you do you're just a machine. I don't want to hear you play it like (whoever) - I want to hear you play it like YOU.
Warm greetings from Alexandria Egypt ❤
Thanks dear
Thanks heaps 🥁goddess Emma‼️Sometimes I crank the vid down to 0.75 speed to follow hand movements, that can help. Love ya work✌️❤️
Thank you so much! Banger of a jam! We Appreciate you!
Good job n lesson..thanks👍🥁
Very good....❤
I should have said "A" drummer in my last comment.. versions of yourself as "A" musical mastermind.. You only have to ask yourself if "A" musician came along for questions without, said doubt.. keeping the rhythm is just part of the future and making history.
3:08 As a Queens of the Stone Age fan, the only thing I can hear at this moment is the drums to “Turning on the Screw”
Great stuff and really great to see you on a REAL kit. Horses for courses and all that, but given the choice I'll take an acoustic kit every time.
More acoustic, please!
Sounds note for note :)
What on earth is going on with your second mounted tom tom positionally speaking?
The session drummer just might be the great great JR Robinson don't quote me though
Nope. It was a drummachine. Jonathan moffet and Ricky did the live versions although Jonathan played it as on the album plus his own touch and Ricky wasn't that good doing it
The original drum track was a popgrammed drum machine!
Typo in your title 😬
NOT THE SINGER FOR F*S SAKE!
After Alien Ant Farm's rendition of this song, the drumming on the original just feels bland.
