Hope you can get around to checking out Destrose, they are thr first of the modern female bands startled in 2005, do their song Fenix. Their drummer Harun and Bassist Miho went on to form Lovebites.
And check out Aldious Dominator live Radiant A O East. They startled I'm 2008 and became the first commercially successful Female band.
And both these bands, like Lovebites, BabyMetal and Band Maid, are Visual Kei.
And one of the most successful Visual Kei Bands is Versailles check out Revenant Choir. Their Visual concept is that they are Baroque Era Vampires who wear French Rococo Style outfits. The video for Revenant Choir is very Vampire centric.

The Lovebites vocalist, Asami, is a mezzo. Before joining Lovebites, her musical background was in R&B and Soul. Her vocal range is almost identical to one of my favorite vocalists of all time, Dusty Springfield.

Congratulations, you just found the best new metal band to come along in decades. In their first five years of existence, they put themselves on par with the greatest bands of metal’s golden age. They recently went on a year-and-a half hiatus while they waited out the pandemic and searched for a new bassist. They announced the new bassist in October 2022 (see below) and dropped their first new song on December 22. Their new album, “Judgement Day”, was released two months later.
They did their first live performances in more than two years in summer of 2023, with their new bassist Fami. Their very first show was commemorated on the DVD “Knocking on Heaven’s Gate”. They have posted four performances from that DVD-“”Hammer of Wrath”, “Judgement Day”, “Nameless Warrior” and “Liar”. All of them are barn-burners. They have also posted “Stand and Deliver” from the second concert.
Some background:
They were formed in 2016 from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief headbanger and founder of the band) had a vision of a new band in the style of the great European bands of the golden age of metal. She recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" “pocket nuclear reactor”); they needed two world-class guitarists, and so they went and found Midori and Miyako, who were with other groups. The four of them then found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time (she was also trained in ballet).
Miyako has composed a little more than half of their music, with Miho composing a lot of their thrashier songs in collaboration with Mao, the lead composer of another band called Lightbringer. Midori has also been getting into the act, and they regularly perform a song written by Haruna as well. Asami writes most of the lyrics and is also getting involved in composing.
In mid-2021, Miho left the band she had founded, for personal reasons. They went on hiatus while they searched for a new bassist, and during that time, two of them had babies, even as the band were writing and rehearsing their new album. They recently announced the new bassist, Fami, who is a young phenom and herself a composer and multi-instrumentalist. The instrumentalists studied all the great historical metal bands going back to Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Helloween, Slayer etc. They have incorporated some of the best of each of those bands into their arsenal, and have created a sound that is fresh and cutting edge while paying tribute to the old masters. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance was that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining.
They do everything from soulful power ballads to heavy thrash. Almost every song includes face-melting solos by Miyako and Midori. The two guitarists are quite different in style and tone. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel (though she can also shred like crazy). Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The contrast makes their duets rich and dynamic. It doesn’t hurt that either one can smoke most of the shredders in the classic metal bands. As another reviewer said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band."

Miyako is also a virtuoso concert pianist, and was headed for a career in classical music, before picking up the guitar. She is self-taught on the guitar. If you want to see what she can do on the piano, watch “Swan Song” WITH the prelude, which is Chopin’s “Revolutionary Etude” (official name Étude Opus 10, No. 12 in C minor). Every song on the album is a showcase of their incredible talent and songwriting capabilities. “Stand and Deliver” is a thrasher with a fun video of them in the studio. “Soldier Stands Solitarily”, the final song on the album, is being touted by some as the best thing they’ve done so far-I encourage you to see and decide for yourself!

Asami's vocal background training is in R&B, soul and gospel music.
Ladies haven't bad songs this one of over 60 pieces they composed. The songs are very complex but catchy and have very good melodic solos. All artist are masters on instruments. They are versatile for they compose and play ballads, progressive songs, heavy metal, hard rock, rock, rock'n'roll thrash metal and the main part of teir craft is POWER METAL. They take the motives from classical music like Chopin, Rahmaninof, List, Dvorak. Probably they are the first band which blend perfectly power and thrash metal and classical background. This is an overview of LOVEBITES' 55 self-written songs and 3 covers (plus 6+1 covers from band members), which is basically their rich catalogue from 4 LPs and 3 EPs, and around 9 (5 main albums for 2019, 2020, 2021 and two 2023) live albums (plus Best-Of 2017-2021). There is not a single bad or mediocre song, no fillers at all, just great songs and masterpieces. And the current/last song always qualifies for your top list, which is strange. They play different styles (e.g. thrash, power, symphonic, ...) of Heavy Metal (and Hard Rock) with their special signature. They revive music that is reminiscent to the 80s and 90s masters (heavily influenced by them) in a fresh and modern way. They were in other groups before and came together to form a super group. Singer Asami is a former ballerina and R&B and soul singer (and still sings some background vocals), who found her connection to Heavy Metal through LOVEBITES. The guitarists Midori and Miyako (M&M) are probably the best harmonizing duo right now, the drummer Haruna (just 4'9/1.45m tall) is extremely tight/precise, fast, and enduring with exceptional fills, both the former and the current bassist are exceptional as well, in short terms, they are all technical masters (and multi-instrumentalists). The dark haired Miyako is even better on the piano. Next year (after they have had a hiatus for 2 years due to Covid-19 and the loss of their bassist), they'll participate on several festivals and probably some other shows overseas, as they did especially in 2018/19 in Wacken W-O-A 2018 and other places. They are willing to "make a name" not only on UA-cam and the Wolfpack fan base.
"Holy War" is the most used introduction to LOVEBITES, and rightly so.
For the lower registers, there are the calmer "E" songs (all starting with E):
- Edge of the World
- Epilogue
- Empty Daydream
Somewhat mixed are
- Liar
- Nameless Warrior
but I could name any of these songs, singer Asami has a big range and good breath control.
It's probably best to (randomly) chose one and be positively surprised by this band...

Asami’s voice is a classic mezzo-soprano. She doesn’t have the top notes of a soprano, but she can easily drop down to the lower range of an alto when necessary. 🤘🐺🤘

They are petite ladies and because metal stages are very dark, they choose to wear white. White reflects the light allowing them to be seen better. The 1st guitar soloist is self taught, never took guitar lessons!!

@@MrsPenPal It has to be said that Miyako is a musical prodigy, and has been playing piano since she was 3 (recommend watching "Swan Song + chopin intro" to see her true potential). When she at 18, deicided to learn the guitar, she was a concert level pianist.
Though we never have heard Midori play the piano, she has also played since she was young. At 19 she began with guitar, then attending the "ESP guitar university", which is run by the same guitar brand she is now using. She is very KISS (Keep It Simple, Stupid), and runs it all though a Kemper pedal board,.
Which can be programmed to sound like most pedals and amps.
Miyako on the other hand is a true guitar-geek, and changes amps, pedals etc. She even does tweak and modify her own guitars. Though she mostly use DEAN guitars, she also does use Gibson or Fenders, to get the right "feel".
