I'm Australian. Lived in Mexico for a year in 2022. Going back in January 2024 to live. Loved it. Was in Bucerias, made many friends and was very safe. Also visited Mexico City and Guadalajara. Also very safe. Go where you're treated best 😃
The honest truth is that Mexicans are extremely friendly with foreigners. Plus you make friends there without even trying, even if you’re an introvert. 😂
I’m female, 70, single didn’t know anyone in Mexico and moved there alone. Rented studio apt in typical Mexican hood for $4,500 pesos $225 usd and always feel safe. I’m in Puerto Vallarta since September 2022😎
YOu are my hero. Im about to do the same thing!!!! Thanks for the inspiration. I was getting the wobbles. But. This video and your comment inspired me!
I visited Puerto Vallarta in 2022-Sep and was infected with shigella bacteria probably due to answering "Si' when my waiter asked if I wanted ice in my coca-cola. It was a gawd-awful and embarrassing experience. I've have heard never eat raw vegetables, never eat anything washed with tap water and never eat food not thoroughly cooked.
We actually left the United States and are living here in Mexico now! So much less depressed and so much more happy with life! Such beautiful people in an amazing country with so much to offer!
I've been living in Mexico for two years now. My wife is a Mexican citizen and I'm from Reno, Nevada. We've never been victimized by ANY crime. The people, culture, architecture, the food, cost of living and the lower levels of stress makes Mexico more attractive to live. I agree that most large cities in the states are more dangerous than in Mexico. As in most places, if you're aware of your surroundings, mind your own business, and don't get involved with the wrong people, you're fine...
Lived in mexico for half a year in 2022 and let me tell you, I personally felt safer there than I've ever felt than im USA or Canada. In Mexico the people are genuine, warm and very friendly. Media only shows the negatives sadly. In Mexico I don't fear some lunatic with mental disorders is going to harm me unlike in the other mentioned countries. Am looking forward to returning there to live again, absolutely amazing place to live in most aspects especially socially and safety.
@@spacecash9721 Weed is practically legal here and they will not throw you in jail for just anything. Last night (Friday) at about 9pm I walked over a half mile by myself to a taco place that stays busy with a crowd until 1 to 2am. I ended up walking back home a little past 11:00pm. The pretty senioritas seem to like my blond hair and hazel eyes! I do this regularly and my spidey senses have never once tingled. Every where I go the people are friendly and helpful. It's a family culture here where you will see whole families with kids, Grandma and Grandpa in tow going out to the Plazas until late at night for socializing, eating tacos and dancing while listening to some really good foreign and local bands.

@@quantumchad These people on this page supporting this half truth video are stupid AF.... Yes, you are 100% correct. There are places in Mexico that are relatively safe but other places in Mexico are extremely dangerous. For example, when 700 or so armed cartel members pushed back the Mexican police and can claim victory, that shows the country is unstable. Also, the missing 63 students or the missing girls in the north and involved police? lmaooo Or the nature of the violence committed by cartel members, is on a whole new level of insane.... Not to mention China is running Huawei products, Chinese endorsed vaccines, mass produced "indigenous" products for street vendors ETC. lmaoooo these people are misinformed fools.
@@spacecash9721 I've been seeing this trend of "Mexico is safer than the U.S." stuff for a couple of years. I just can't get over how misinformed these people are on this subject. When cartel members have wars on the street forcing people out of buses and cars and setting the vehicles on fire... or cartels members displaying rows of battle ready trucks and hundreds of cartel members in military uniform strapped with full auto rifles...or cartel members skinning peoples faces alive or cutting out hearts and laughing on video... or decapitating and dismembering their victims and putting the parts of the victims bodies in the middle of a street to "send a message..." Yeah, its on another level of insanity and shows clearly that that country is unstable especially with a socialist president message to cartels "hugs not bullets." SMFH at the idiots on this page defending that concept!

I have traveled all over Mexico the part 30 years and now live there for the past 3 years and never felt unsafe - except a little the first time I was shaken down for a bribe by a traffic cop. Like Andrew said if you stay in nicer areas of any city and have some street smarts you can travel almost anywhere just as you would in visiting places in the US. The constant narrative from the US that Mexico is unsafe does seem to me to be a strategic action by the US government to prevent more US citizens from realizing they could live a better quality life in Mexico if they come with some stable source of middle class income.
Im from Acapulco, sadly is on the top lists of dangerous places in MX. But its just like they mention, we know where not to go, what not to be doing, its called common sense. And yet being on top of the most dangerous cities, there is no mass shootings in public areas, schools, malls etc.
I'm from Acapulco and went to live with my dad for a year and nothing happened. I did read some bad news and all but like you said know where to go and also who you hang with. I even got a job as a security guard at a mall it was fun and everyone was nice.

I spent 2 weeks n Merida recently, to stay with my friend who lives there. She had to work so I was out and about on foot, alone, sometimes after dark and always felt safe. Police everywhere and when I was looking at my phone map as I walked past a policeman, he asked if I needed help. There’s a smaller town nearby, Valladolid, that I want to research for livability.
Mérida is one of the safest cities in México. The reason is because is kind of a neutral ground for cartels. Some cartel´s families live there, so they have a treaty to avoid doing crime there, so everyone´s family can live pacefuly.
@@isaiasrios7766 it all depends on the neighborhood, i'm mexican from Tijuana and i've never been to chicago but all cities i've been in the US (except oakland) are safer than here based on my experience, if yall gringos lived in a low income ghetto from here you would know the reality of 80% of mexico's population, i know there are also a lot of ghettos and poverty in the US but comparing it to mexico it's another lvl, you can live alright in both countries, just decide the good options

I’m with you on that. It’s Mérida for me and I feel so much safer there because it is safer than where I am from in the US. I’ll have to see if I can find the statistic, but in years past Mérida has been touted as the second safest city in the Americas. I can’t wait to start living there full-time.

I live in Mexico City much to the shock and dismay of some former acquaintances in the US, and in terms of being the victim of violence the organized crime factions tend to leave civilians alone. Why? Because if an innocent is victimized they know that the police are going to have to do their phony-baloney jobs and arrest somebody. Yes there are dangerous parts of the city, and I deal with them by not dealing with them, ie avoiding them. And as for Mexico doing something about the cartels, Americans can also do something about the cartels by not buying drugs
Ok.. I agree with your comment about the police not doing their jobs .. I’ve been there 8 times for filing a complaint against a contractor and they haven’t left the building yet to look for him .. they tell you they will but do NOTHING

The President of Mexico also says that there is more freedom and democracy in Mexico than in the United States and he can prove it to you and I support him.
Hahaha he also said narcos don't control Mexico and that it's safer than the USA. Go read the Mexican news if you can. I spent the last 3 years traveling through Mexico and living like the locals and talking and hanging out with them . These tourist/ expat people live in their own little bubble in Mexico they don't have a clue. Painfully ignorant.
There are so many ways that could be measured and probably pretty subjective, but one thing stands out very much; when it comes to "free market" for ultra small local businesses, Mexico is 100x more "free" than the USA. There are so many small entrepreneurs here that are allowed to pursue their ventures, from people selling wares on the street, to grandmas opening a tiny restaurant with 2-3 tables and one other family member doing the cooking. Concepts that just wouldn't be possible in the US bc of planning departments, "health" inspectors, permits, police harassment, and other monopoly rules big corporate business has put over Americans.
The US is experiencing a major mental health crisis. The danger here isn’t so much the criminals (if you don’t get involved with criminal activity, the odds are low), but with the average civilian being so on edge that anything can erupt at any time. So many incidents or road rage and senseless violence because of increased tensions are erupting. Not just in cities but small towns too. In so called 3rd world countries, the average citizen is kinder and more respectful than in the US. As long as you avoid criminal activity, you’ll be fine. But in the US any kid with a temper could get a gun and shoot you at anytime because they’re having a bad day. The American dream is sadly over😢
You are 100% correct about everyday citizens being on edge that can lead to anything. This place is a zoo. I’m a combat veteran yet I don’t even feel safe anywhere here. Too many incidents, pretty much any time you go anywhere. Even here in SoCal the racial tensions are through the roof. It’s quite Insane. I lee thinking that with the wages it requires to live in California you would expect more Intelligence, but I find that money doesn’t equal common sense or even brains. This California weather is nice but if you have to be terrified of everyone to include the police, what’s the point. I feel like a prisoner here. Looking to move out of the U.S. I’m finally secure and can live even here in California. I am a naturalized U.S. citizen, born in Mexico and have been to Mexico many times. The common knowledge around here about Mexico is that it is extremely dangerous. Even had our gardener tell my dad not to go to Mexico because it wasn’t safe do to organized crime. No Mexican i know even thinks of going to Mexico. However, one of my close relatives stays there half the year. Haven’t had any issues. This individual is older and would not raise any alarms to anyone. Idk it’s all a mystery.
My biggest security concern when in Mexico is my own ignorance. I know when I'm in a sketchy situation in New York or Chicago, and I know how to avoid that. In Mexico I don't yet have enough experience to judge well. And yes, the alarming news stories color my judgement. But my direct experience in Mexico reflects no greater risk that what I routinely experience in the US.
I had the same issue in Los Angeles, even the sketchiest parts of Los Angeles look no worse than the middle class suburban parts of LA. I mean it's a suburb in search of a city and it's hard to see where the good neighborhood ends and the bad neighborhood begins.
From the perspective of a Mexican that grew up in U.S. and then moved back at 18 and been here for a while I can see both view points of Americans wanting to go to a safer place, but I also see the view from my fellow Mexicans that the increase in gentrification that has already taken place is affecting the average Mexican family in those areas as they are getting more expensive to live there. Everyone has the right to purchase and move where they please but be mindful of the place and culture where you are moving and try not to be self centered about the place you stay, you should also help the communities in ways that can benefit everyone so it doesn’t feel like you are just there because it’s cheaper and can take more resources than others.

There's a whole bunch more places in Mexico that are even safer.....The entire state of Tlaxcala for example. Most of the state of Hidalgo. Many parts of Puebla, Campeche, Yucatan, and Tabasco. and so on.
Mexico is really a nice place. Use your head though. Trouble only occurs when you go looking for it. Trouble attracts trouble. If you are aware of your surroundings, work to blend in, follow local advice of where not to go... generally you are safe. If you work in the US you can easily get a spot in the nice parts of town or city so you're pretty much good to go. I used to live in a nasty part of town and even had a very dangerous situations with a home invasion. (Rent was $200 a month for a 3 bedroom house but it was in the hood) Long story short. As a Mexican I can confirm that he really knows Mexico. It's interesting that some Americans feel this information as hating America, I just felt it as a respectful narration of his knowledge of my country. He does compare tough statistics though.
Being from Mexico, I can tell you the last part of the video is so true. Everyone here knows and understands we live in a dangerous country in general, but as you said, common sense can get you a long way. And actually, it is becoming more and more common to hear that people are scared to travel to the US due to racism and mass shootings happening every week.
It cracks me up when I suggest going to Mexico or Belize or other Latin American countries since they offer - BY FAR - the best vacation value vs. Europe and the other party says "The State Department has a travel advisory about going there." I'm like - have you seen the state departments of Germany, France, etc... advice on traveling to the US? You already live in a dangerous place. You're not increasing your risk by going to these other vacation spots.
I am a Mexican and if you guys wanna come over here well my best advice is to look tough and well never lower your head. Please keep it held high and you will be fine. Also be in very public places but if you decide to go on a trip just be cautious and do not talk to just anybody. GPS at all times though. safe vibes and we will welcome anyone who comes. Much success !
Before 2006, Mexico was definitely safer than the US. Now, it varies significantly from region to region. There is kidnapping in some places of Mexico, and that is one of the worst things you can do to a human being. In the US my biggest fear is gun violence, racists and mass shootings. I'd say, as a Mexican American, that both countries are safe or violent depending on the region or even the zip code. Still, If you are poor from a third-world country, the US is a better option to get out of poverty. If you have savings or if you are a very creative person and are able to have a good online job, Mexico is a good option. In Mexico you will NEVER be discriminated based on race and you can walk freely everywhere (except in very marginalized areas). If you are a person of color, be careful where you walk in the US, and I recommend you live in a diverse city, with people from everywhere. Also Ghettos tend to be more violent in the US. But the middle-class areas are very safe, except that you need to be alert because mass shooters are everywhere now.
middle-class areas dont exist in the U.S. anymore. I just had to flee my 3k a month apartment here in So Cal. I had 3 break-in attempts in 9 months, even the maintenance manager told me he had to chase some guys recently and while they were running away one of them dropped their gun. Those apartments were in a area that i never felt i would be in danger but turns out i was wrong. Now I am stuck and not knowing where to go. I am retired now and make enough to live here in So Cal. Ive even owned property in Santa Barbara county. The racism here is 30000x ever since the yellow rapist chicken got into the white house. he really screwed this place up. Cops are complete trash and if your a Mexican like i am they make it a point to be extra trash. Im terrified to even drive anywhere now cause of those guys. sad part is im a combat veteran so that should tell you how safe "murica" is. Currently if your not a Billlionare you are very limited here in So Cal. I am fortunate enough to where i can rent 1 bedroom apartment in most of the non super rich areas of So Cal. everything here is a mess. im looking for an exit stradegy. Dont believe this place is safe one bit. just look at all the youtube videos of all the corrupt cops over here. treating civilians like this is a war zone. I was born in Mexico but came to U.S. as child, so i am a dual citizen so i could live in Mexico and it would be very simple for me. i know the weather is great there, i have lots of family there now in the state of Jalisco but even when i went there on vacation a few years ago i saw the "the armed men" in plain daylight and lets just say it was something i didnt care to see. I grew up here in So Cal and everyone i knew was mexican and grew up in the most dangerous areas of So Cal. Ive seen it all and ive been shot at, beaten, attempted stabbings (in school) drive-by shootings every weekend. it was a complete war zone. after all those experiences and my time in the service i was done with war and guns and violence. i had two incidents recently with law emforcent one with California highway patrol and one with San Bernadino County sherrifs. CHP pulled me over on the 101 in the area just south of San Luis Obispo, I was going to a medical appointment at the VA and got pulled over for tinted windows. I had just purchased a home nearby so all my documents had my old address and the CHP officer was such a piece of shit, said "what, you couldt update this when you went to the DMV" in a way that i wouldnt ever dare talk to any one. last one was Chino Hills sheriffs, had the deputy come and give me some of the same type of attitude as the last guy for absoluty nothing, never was rude to the guy or disrecful. I ended up calling 2 months later for the same issue and dealt with a different deputy and i explained my interaction with the last deputy, this guy told me to file a complaint and even told me to sue the city, even stated that he sure didnt want to be someone who caused the city to have to pay out for anything and that he would talk to his fellow officer. Mind you when i was in Iraq as a soldier we would get shot at while driving throught certain areas and we were not even cleared to fire back unless you had positive identification of the shooter. we were so scared to make a mistake it was beyond stressful, yet these cops here think they are in some western movie and they are the cowboys and we are the other guys. sherriff even had a revolver in some western looking holster, i knew he was going to be a problem right off the bat. this 25 yr old thought he could talk to a 40yr old man and combat survior like he would pistol whip me any time. these cops have a chip on their shoulder if they know you are ex-military. All that being said man, this place is not safe at all, you can get threatened to get shot by ganbangers just in the middle of the day because they want to get in your lane. This was a female too. this place is absolultny nuts.
Ny city is beyond third world at this point, I moved during the pandemic to mexico, just go google my city over run by illegal immigrants, they getting busses a day from Texas with immigrants, the city is like a horror movie right now
For all the people commenting about how Mexico can be safer than the US: yes, the US did decline and it's still declining to this day. But obviously, if you're making good money on Mexico, while being able to live far from poor regions, it's obvious that you'll be fine. It's the same logic for every country, really...
Went to Guadalajara last year. There's a LOT of police/military presence everywhere. At first it feels a bit weird, but overall I didn't feel unsafe in the 11 days I was there. Going back again later this year
I moved from Houston to the middle of Mexico 23 years ago. Much better here. Safer too. Cheaper too. I could go on. Moving to Mexico was the best thing I ever did to myself.
YES ! talk about the safest towns in Mexico. Thanks so much. I used to live in Puerto Morelos, and they have had drug gang shootings when that was unheard of in 98' 99' when I lived there. Been to Merida back then but would want to live a little bit outside of town to a smaller area.
a pretty SHORT mention of Merida on your list, but I’ve lived here for about 10 years now & it’s so much SAFER than any other Mexican city. Playa del Carmen is overrun with cartels & gangs there collecting PI$O & selling drugs. There are multiple murders there every week, same for Cancun & Tulum. LMK if you ever decide to visit Merida yourself and get some current footage for your show. As a real estate investor/developer here I have created a boutique hotel & restaurant/bar compound here 1 block from the MOST INCREDIBLE avenue in the city! and the new Penthouse atop that makes life here beyond AMAZING!!! keep up the good work Sir
In Mexico we don’t have mass school shootings and we can go to the movies or enjoy concerts without worrying about about a random shooter and we don’t have the need to own a gun
For those people interested in Mexico, let me say this. Mexico is not just Cancun, Mexico city, Acapulco or Tijuana. At the same time, Mexico is not only deserts and beaches. Here we have forests, jungles, Manglars, Mountains, lakes with plenty of hot Springs, even at some regions there is snow in winter, etc. Also, Tacos and nachos are only 1% of entire mexican gastronomy (no exagerating. You can get entirely different gartronomy from one region to another). We have plenty of places which are invisible or not enough mentioned about (even between mexicans). Also, we are not just tequila (stereotype), but we have about 10 types of alcoholic drinks which are equal or even more tasty than tequila. Mexico is a place in which every state is like an entirely different world (said by some foreigners which visit us) so don't stay in mere sterotypes.
In the US, it used to be crime was isolated now it seems to be random and all over the country in areas you used to not have to worry about that's what is really sad 😢
A Latino living in my suburban Chicago home town was doing contract work in Mexico City. He went missing the day before he was supposed to come home. I went to his home to give the family some money for food and they were terrified that the bad guys were going to come looking for them as well.
Thank you. We would love to hear more information on Mexican neighborhoods that are safe. Also areas where investing in real estate is most profitable.
This guy speaks the truth and the original media will not tell you this on the contrary. And remember the murders that happen in 🇲🇽 is due to either you were in the business or were an enemy. If you do your own thing no one will bother you .
I’ve lived in Lake Chapala (just south of Guadalajara)for almost 4 years. While there is petty crime, like anywhere in the world, you MUST be street savvy to avoid being a victim. I find it’s quite safe. The problems I’ve had are corrupt police who have extorted money from me twice since I’ve lived here. Supposedly these kinds of police harassment and crime have reduced quite a bit and I have not heard of it happening in quite a while. I think it’s safer in Mexico than many places in the US. Unfortunately, the USD to peso conversion is not in our favor any longer. Just 8 months ago I was getting 20.45 pesos per USD and today it’s 17.80. Home prices and rents are MUCH higher here than other parts of Mexico. Food and consumer goods, like elsewhere in the world, have gone way up too. So while it is less expensive than the states, it is not the bargain it used to be, at least where I live. You cannot buy a decent house or condo here for under $250k US and for the most part, must pay cash because financing is not a thing. Renting a 2 bed/2 bath decent place will cost at least $1000 USD a month, if not quite a bit more. That is the reality of living in an expat destination.
2:10 I'm from Mexico and agree with your statement about having a lower chance of being shot in Mexico than in the United States despite all the cartel problems. I admit it Mexico can sometimes be scary but I would be more scared if I was in a place I knew everyone or most people were carrying a gun even if they were sane. Nonetheless, you need to still avoid some places to avoid getting in trouble like in every other country.
The one constant though, is that law enforcement is more compromised than in the US. The arrest and conviction rates are nil compared to US. So if you, on the rare situation find yourself in a pickle, you cannot rely on law enforcement, and if you're command of Spanish is low, it is even murkier to deal with the legal arm of the community you are in. As bad a rap as cops get in the US, most take community protection seriously. Most are not compromised. So when you move, don't take US expectations of law enforcement with you.
Is is nice to hear the opinión of a US citizen who is well informed. Mexico is a great country, theres is a reason why many americans are coming to live in México.
We may think that we may not have so much in common due language differences, but we do have a large amount of cultural similarities. I will tell you a story: I was born in Tijuana (is the city I currently live and it has a strong cultural influence from San Diego due its closeness). I Growth up with spanish as my first language and I was raised by my mother in Mexico in a Mexican family. 7 years ago I've met my biological father for the first time (he's american, and lives in NV, his life ia just around English and common american culture, so my entire communication with him was in English). But I've gotta say, our connection, communication and cultural integration from both sides was efortless, comfortable and very awesome, but we liked the same rock music such as Nirvana, Metallica, Guns N Roses, The cure, etc. We had deep talks about economics, politics, we even talked about christianity (as I am Christian). We had so much in common, we had coffee together, prepared delicious meals and we even watched a Lakers vs Celtics game together. It was so easy for me to fit in during the time we've met. Hearing that some american folks are considering Mexico as a place to live in is an honor (is not a minor decision, its a big decision, so thats awesome). Don't ever be afraid from what you hear or even if you dont speak the language, or if you dont know anyone in México. We love to make people feel at home and welcomed and i think that's just part of us, in latin-america. God bless you all and I wish you the best on your plans, and lives. Thank you!
My family is from Jalisco Mexico and I go there every year and never heard of anyone innocent being killed, every person that has was involved with organized crime. I can't say its like this everywhere in Mexico but I've never felt in danger in my 37 years of going there.
MEXICO IS NOT SAFER THAN THE US. I am from and live in Queretaro, which is one of the safest cities in Mexico. It is very safe here, but in other places awful things happen. The difference is, here in Mexico we know who to stay away from. In the US you could be in church or anywhere.
In mx right now for the first time as a nomad. I can figure out what areas to avoid here, can’t figure out what mall, school, church, synagogue, theater, gas station etc is going to be shot up next in America. Cops might shake a couple people down here sometimes but they generally won’t gun you down like could happen in the usa. Food is good here too 😉
My wife took some of our college students to Juarez a month or so ago. It was a week after those Americans got killed in a different city. My wife and our students never felt in any danger while in Juarez. You just have to be smart about where you go and what time you go places. It also helps to just not be involved with bad things. If you're into bad things, you increase your chances of running into bad people greatly. That's just true anywhere in the world.
There are companies that offer similar (if not the same) travel assessments as the President gets. But yeah being a Muslim in Texas is far riskier than being a white person in Kansas. Security can actually make you MORE of a target.

I follow your videos with interest and learn a lot. I'm Mexican, and I think it's important to remember that Mexico had 8 of the top 10 cities with the most homicides in the world in 2022, there's an impunity rate of about 94%, and if you open a business in a big city you WILL be "offered" "protection" by the organised crime; not to mention the growing societal polarisation and xenophobia (especially in big cities).

I actually live in Mexico and work in San Diego. I cross the border from Tijuana to San Diego everyday for work and it is so much better in Tijuana. you don't see half as many homeless people. you don't see homeless tents on the street. I highly encourage people who are tired of the California life to take a residency in Tijuana. My rent is $350 per month and I get paid close to $20 an hour in San Diego I'm practically Rich living in Mexico.
Also prostitution is legal... 😅 My weekends are great
I love Tijuana!!!
In 2022 Tijuana ranked #5 most dangerous city in the world. In 2018 it was #1. Enjoy your stay.
HK FTW!
What about women getting trafficked?
Do you walk over the border or drive? Does the crossing take a long time?
The President of Mexico also says that there is more freedom and democracy in Mexico than in the United States and he can prove it to you and I support him.
he not wrong, women are getting arrested for abortions, people getting arrest going to the restrooms in usa yall lost freedom many years ago
The president of Mexico is a moron
Well i'm mexican and he's liying anyone who dosent follow his ideas is labeled a traitor. Thats not freedom neither democracy, is tyrany
The American dream is sadly over😢
Very deplorable but you're absolutely right
You right in Mexico we tend to say Americans are crazier than u.s

Canada: I stayed at a nice new downtown hotel in a decent medium-sized city here in BC. A couple walked into the lobby later in the evening. "Nice night for a walk" I said to them on the elevator. "Yes, but last week a couple of our employees staying here got mugged on the way back." 😳 It is not just the U.S.! Canada is declining rapidly...😬
For the folks asking the safest places to live in Mexico here is a list. I am a Mexican citizen that's lived in different parts of Mexico and these are my recommendations in no particular order:
Monterrey-San Pedro Garza García
Guanajuato-San Miguel de Allende
Guadalajara- Zapopan
Mexico City- Polanco, Santa Fe, Roma Norte, Cuahutemoc, Lomas de Chapultepec
Querétaro
Mérida
Cancún Zona Hotelera
Puerto Vallarta
Aguascalientes
@@MaxvonHapsburg Ah yes, how could I forget Aguascalientes. Thank you sir!
My wife and I have been to Mexico many times (Guadalajara, Jalisco, CDMX, Yucatan, Baja Sur, Rocky Point, and a few others). We have been able to stay safe and have a good time.
Is Puebla,Morelia, and Oaxaca safe? I also like Guadalajara! Mexico sounds like a fun place to live, get residency.

yes mexico definitely safer, I am currently in playa del Carmen an di am from NY, but areas like Merida, playa, Roma Norte and palanco, safer than any USA city, been here 4 slyears since pandemic I moved, lived all over never seen not even a petty crime, not even fighting, you would only see that if you go to areas where locals are not even going, like living in Manhattan and going to the Bronx, and Americans love to go to bad areas to buy drugs,
Mérida is one of the safest cities.

After traveling the world for the past 4 years i couldn't help noticing how little Americans travel compared to people from other nations. It makes perfect sense; so many Americans live in their own bubble, never leaving the country, and the news and politics aren't helping either.
The USA is huge. Most Americans don't need to travel to other countries as we have a geographically diverse country so you can see a bit of everything. I love how people think you have to travel to other countries to experience different culture.

You said it very well Andrew! I live in Tijuana, Mexico and the biggest advice I can give someone is to choose wisely what part of town you live in. If you work in the US you can easily get a spot in the nice parts of town or city so you're pretty much good to go.
I used to live in a nasty part of town and even had a very dangerous situations with a home invasion. (Rent was $200 a month for a 3 bedroom house but it was in the hood)
Long story short. I was able to get an apt for $700 that's basically 2 blocks from these huge 2K month condo buildings with everything good close at walking distance and even a police vehicle almost in front of my spot the majority of the day. It's hard to descibe it but it's an overwhelming feeling of safety. So say you don't get a spot in the Big Condo, but if you go a couple of blocks from there you can get a good deal and still get the safety benefits of living in a nice area.

They don’t need to carry guns and stand your ground over their, cuz those countries are actually more civilized then America.
My neighbors are Mexican and they stated they would never live in Mexico the way it is now.
They're right
I am a Mexican and if you guys wanna come over here well my best advice is to look tough and well never lower your head.

For all the people commenting about how Mexico can be safer than the US: yes, the US did decline and it's still declining to this day. But obviously, if you're making good money on Mexico, while being able to live far from poor regions, it's obvious that you'll be fine. It's the same logic for every country, really...

YES ! talk about the safest towns in Mexico.
Thank you very much. As a former US person, happily enjoying my permanent life in Mexico.
Spot on, extreme cases are Juarez and Nuevo Laredo
I live part of the year around Lake Chapala and feel safe. Actually moving to Mexico is basically what we did.

As a Mexican who has relatives in the U.S. who are too afraid to come visit him, I agree with this video...
In the US, it used to be crime was isolated
now it seems to be random and all over the country in areas you used to not have to worry about
that's what is really sad 😢
That is the reality of living in an expat destination.
places like ajijic and sma are super expensive imo... cheaper than the us for sure, but I def wouldn't say it's cheap to live.
A 2 bed in Texas will run you 1300 nowadays so that's still a big deal. That's a months groceries in difference
I’ve been to Mexico many times with zero problems. I really liked San Miguel De Allende.
Yes, MORE about MEXICO 🇲🇽 Please
2:10 I'm from Mexico and agree with your statement about having a lower chance of being shot in Mexico than in the United States despite all the cartel problems. I admit it Mexico can sometimes be scary but I would be more scared if I was in a place I knew everyone or most people were carrying a gun even if they were sane. Nonetheless, you need to still avoid some places to avoid getting in trouble like in every other country.
Another great video, thankful for information I wouldn’t know or think of otherwise!
Saludos desde México... Fuerte abrazo.... Si vivimos con más libertades...
7 counties have a travel advisory against the USA . I'm wondering how this is affecting tourism here.
The opposite of that, tourism it’s growing fast:)
Is is nice to hear the opinión of a US citizen who is well informed. Mexico is a great country, theres is a reason why many americans are coming to live in México.
Because is Cheaper and some cities and People look like Spain
Thank you!
And 9 states in the USA were part of Mexico in the not so distant past too!!
Yes, please talk about safer cities in Mexico.
Food is good here too 😉
Pero en México sí han habido casos en los que la policía te dispara, que no se den a conocer es otra cosa.
And Juarez is has a very high crime rate, so that tells you how some politicians distort reality to get votes.
@@rodiculous9464 Everyone made it back safe and sound with no issues; therefore, they were as safe as they felt.
Yes please more Mexico information please!
Mexico is a great place that is booming right now. People are flocking here esp. to the Yucatan Merida area.
@@2GringosOnTheGulf I'm Canadian thinking of doing the same thing. Hoping to spend a month in Mexico next winter to check some areas out!
@@raija9838 That is awesome where are you thinking of going first?
This was the video I was waiting for from you. I think it speaks to a more diverse group of people. Please elaborate 🙌🏽
Depends where U live, your ethnicity, age, gender, how much you can afford security etc. I would personally trust Mexico a little more.
There are companies that offer similar (if not the same) travel assessments as the President gets. But yeah being a Muslim in Texas is far riskier than being a white person in Kansas. Security can actually make you MORE of a target.
Adrew please do more content on Mexico.... I' d like to know about the Baja peninsula also Monterrey and Guadalajara. Maybe places that are safe to drive to from the states.
