    George about the horse “aaaaand it’s gone”
    I love the horse episode. And in his defense she called in for financial advice 💁🏼‍♀️and George gave her financial advice.

    George. Financial Planner here. Here’s a better argument against a 401k loan. Double taxation. When you pay the loan back, it comes from your net income, hence you’re taxed on it. Then, later in life, when you take it out, you’re taxed again. I pay over 30% in taxes. So, if I took out a 401k loan, I’d pay 30% on my income to get the money to make the repayments. Then I’d pay 30% when I withdraw later in life. 60% on that money is worse than the 9% debt she has. Your advice was good, but your reason for the advice was flawed. I appreciate what you guys do! I don’t think people realize how much of a skill it is to give advice on the fly like this.

    My favorite part about the horse episode was how George brought up selling the horse and then said “this is the Ramsey Show” like it was a mic drop 😂 This episode was amazing! I laughed so hard! You guys are great! ❤

      @Suits334 it's obviously intentional to include the sound in the final video rather than to mix it out (or set up mics that don't capture it), but people laugh at things that aren't particularly funny when they're with people they enjoy being around and having a good time -- this is part of why everyone thinks they're funny, because their friends laugh at their jokes.

    I don’t disagree with George’s advice. Pets are a luxury, and if a person is financially struggling, why put an animal over a humans needs? I love my animals. We have over 100 large animals, but I wouldn’t value them over my wife and kids future.

    I think it's great that you all did this. It shows your human and can actually admit when you would have maybe handled a situation differently. Or (heaven forbid) admit that you were wrong! 😉
    I think all the personalities should do this. Inclyding Dave. And listen back to themselves and how they speak to the callers sometimes.
    Rachel, you are the kindest of the personalities and just genuinely answer the caller's questions without chastising them ... ever!! I love you and way with the callers. Please keep that quality about you and don't get like the other personalities.
    Other than that, I LOVE all things Ramsey and the content. 😊

    For the question at the end, folks please put items back where you found them. I've had to throw away so much food just because someone left it where it wasn't supposed to go thinking it will be okay. Like strawberries need to be in a cold area because if it's left out it can mold quickly. There have been people who put frozen items in fridges that aren't cold enough to keep it frozen. Also if you put a chemical item like bleach near food, the store can get in trouble with a health inspection because those items have to be separated.

    Really hoping the elephant in the room about the retirement withdrawal conflict between George and Dave would just be directly addressed. It really seems disingenuous when Dave and George seem to skirt around this disagreement especially since it was so public. Regardless of whether they agree with each other, sweeping it under the rug hoping it will go away rarely ever works, especially when blunt honesty and respect has been a large part of the Ramsey brand. No one is perfect or is fully knowledgeable on everything and showing the mutual respect and discussing it would go a long way for me.

    • @margie909
      @margie909 9 місяців тому +5

      @mofarmmomoney3009
      I'm curious about something regarding the many folks who are waiting for an apology/discussion. Maybe you can answer it for me? Does any of the following make a difference . . . .
      The man on that Nov 2nd call repeated to Dave George's comments from a video where George was referencing the FIRE movement. George was not talking about Ramsey principles. The caller took George's words out of context, purposefully, and presented it to Dave as if George was advocating for much lower withdrawl rates than Dave suggests. The caller was hoping to debate Dave and misrepresented George's video in order to bait him into it.
      The caller filmed his call with Dave. The caller uploaded the video to his own channel. The caller has a financial podcast with a few hundred followers. He has managed to grow his channel a bit now by proudly advertising himself as the humble, aw shucks man who simply wanted a chance to change Dave's mind. (Meanwhile, he watches the Ramsey Show DAILY. He knows Dave doesnt change his mind.) So, rather than calling Dave and honestly saying, "I would like to challenge you Dave on your retirement withdrawl stance", the caller took George's words out of context to make it appear that even George thinks Dave is wrong. Seems to me, and many other viewers that the person who "threw George under the bus" was the caller.
      Could Dave had handled it better, yes. Is Dave reckless regarding retirement withdrawl rates, yes. Was Dave mislead by this caller, yes. Did this caller use The Ramsey Show as a way to gain some fame and gain subscribers to his podcast, yes.
      Does any of this make a difference? Maybe just to me.

    • @mofarmmomoney3009
      @mofarmmomoney3009 9 місяців тому

      @@margie909 A situation like this is not about blame but of mutual respect. I'm more surprised Dave reverted to putting an employee down as an immediate reaction to his self admitted lack of clarity on the context. He also was quite insulting to those who disagree regardless of whether there is merit to the argument. His reaction directly disagrees with his own advice on leadership which is why I was hoping for a smoothing over of sorts. I am personally a huge fan of Dave and so was the caller who accidently stepped into this one. I do not believe the caller intended to cause this disagreement and actually listened to all videos from every perspective in their entirety before feeling this way. I personally am a thinker and prefer to fully understand the context before a conclusion. Dave has previously mentioned that he will retire if he starts saying dumb things on the air...sure hope that never happens as we still need Uncle Dave's advice, perspective, and motivation.

    Here to hear the “sell the horse”. Such a memorable moment. Still agree with George: sell the horse

    I would have asked more questions about the horses (she has 2), like do they live on your property, do you cut your own hay to feed them, etc. Find out how expensive they are to keep, do the lessons make any profit or do they just pay for horse care, maybe get rid of the horse not bringing in income....

    I love you both and I appreciate your 20 cents worth. Please make these shorter so I can continue to watch, listen and learn. Thanks

    I worked in tax collections and a lady asked me if she should "sell her horse." I thought she was joking and chuckled. Then she blew up. We were able to work it out.

    As an ex horse person I can confirm that horses are expensive and broke people shouldn't own them.

    401k loans are terrible for other reasons. The loaned amount isn’t invested until it’s repaid. You also may be required to pay it back before leaving an employer

    Circular saws range from $35-$50 for a cost-effective one. Even an expensive one is only $250

    Hilarious! They are a good duo - both on here and on the Ramsey Show. Publix and Walmart remark - so funny! Rachel is the same on both shows, but George has a completely different personality on this show compared with the Ramsey Show.
