I'm the same! I love TV shows with unsolved mysteries and researching the cases so it works perfectly for me! Lol

I don’t think Patsy wrote the note because it makes no sense to use John’s Christmas bonus as the ransom amount. Also, there is no evidence of a kidnapping/ransom. The note was addressed to John but it was really intended to misguide police. I see no reason for a smart woman like Patsy to fabricate evidence that points the finger back at herself. Moreover, JonBenet was the subject of that note but she was never mentioned by name. I can think of only 2 plausible explanations: The killer didn’t know JonBenet’s name or he couldn’t spell it. Some people believe Patsy wrote the note as a coverup to protect her son Burke but if that is true, she wouldn’t tell Burke to go to a friend’s house before JonBenet’s body was found. Like, if Burke tells his friend that his sister is dead in the basement before anybody knows, well obviously that’s not a good coverup. I also don’t think it’s strange that Patsy wasn’t ruled out as the author of the note. Handwriting is an inexact science, and if Patsy is ruled out the case against the Ramseys falls apart. Just my 2 cents.

Patsy might have not written it but it could have only been someone who knew the exact amount of his bonus. Or just the biggest coincidence. I do agree that she probably didn't write it but we can't completely excuse it. People do irrational things when in situations like this. And I agree that the handwriting thing was probably said so they couldn't be ruled out. I think they wanted to charge the parents so badly because of the note and where the body was found but they didn't have any concrete evidence.

Robyn Stephens Hi, thanks for replying. I suppose it’s possible that Patsy could incriminate herself if she wrote under stress. I get the sense however that whoever wrote this note took great pleasure in writing it, just as they took great pleasure in killing JonBenet. It is strange for the author to write such a specific amount and I confess that I don’t know what significance (if any) this number holds to the perpetrator. It could have been John’s Christmas bonus, but it also could have been something else. Perhaps a bible verse or maybe he killed JonBenet at 1:18am and this was his way of toying with police. According to Lou Smit, 118,000 US dollars came out to exactly 1 million Pesos in 1996. Some people have theorized that the killer was planning on fleeing the country, but I doubt that theory as well because I don’t think the killer had any intention of kidnapping JonBenet for ransom. That was just another coincidence. I think the killer intentionally wrote the note inside the Ramsey home to make police suspect the family. If I had to profile the killer based on the evidence I would say the killer was a narcissist, a pervert and a man. Would you agree?

That’s very true. They most likely wanted it to appear that someone in the family wrote the note. Possibly to throw the trail off of them (which clearly worked). By writing the note from a notepad in the house they really made it seem like it was a family member. I don’t think the murderer planned to ever kidnap her either. I think it was probably a man and definitely a pervert. BUT I don’t know whether or not it was someone they knew closely or not.

It *was* a atempted kidnapping,it wen't wrong and they never tested for a youth who did it *(Burke is innocent).

It wasn't a stranger, they don't remember the person ,as they only talked to the person by mail. They never thought it could be a youth and they didn't test a youth going through the broken basement window, avoiding the spider webs.4.5 out of 5 that Patsi *didn't* write it.200 pieces of evidence that they *didnt'* kill there daughter.only *two* videos I have seen have brought up about a super fan who was obsessed did it.

I love your little subscribe sound in the beginning! But anyways I’m obsessed with this case like every human in America. With that particular ransom note asking price, I completely understand why people think it’s the brother who killed her and the mom covered it up. Keep these coming!

Thank girl! And it's super suspicious. Definitely someone in or close to the immediate family. I can't believe it's still unsolved!
