I find that using 2 scrubbers to be cheating really; 1 scrubber can already massively reduce maintenance costs. But I suppose it's necessary if you make giant colonies that fill the entire map. Other than that, I can manage single scrubbers strategically placed around the map with maintenance-hungry buildings.
@@okamishiranui7841 I can def see your point after trying that out. But I did notice I was blowing through electronics with using 2. Might dial it back to increased the difficultly as I did hit that point where the playthrough is getting easier.
@okamishiranui7841 screw that. After spending the bulk of the game struggling with maintenance and not enough resources, I feel I've paid my dues and deserve to inundate the area with more scrubbers than you can shake a stick at. They eliminate nearly all maintenance, even for themselves. If I can provide the electricity to cover their demand, then I say go for broke.
I was wondering if 2 scrubbers would clean each other. I usually only place a scrubber in a place where it covers at least two other buildings that require electronics to maintain. That way, it ends up saving me at least one electronic in the end.
Couldn't agree more. Triboelectric scrubber tech is one of those I try to research as soon as possible above all else. Trying to deal with the maintenance demand can quickly kill a playthrough.
#16 Drone hubs are cheaper to import than drones when you have researched the technology "Drone Swarm". Proof: Drone Hub prefab (containing 6 drones): 150 M 6 Drones: 180 M Furthermore, you can also salvage the drone hub for 6 metals and 4 electronics (60 M +80 M = 140 M), whereas salvaging 6 drones will only give you 6 metals (60 M). So, if you need more drones and creating them yourself is not an option, it's much better to import a Drone Hub prefab and salvage it as you keep the 6 drones + get valuable electronics.
@@reallythateasy At the moment, I place one at each "cluster" of domes. Not far away are a few universal depots, and a Shuttle hanger to feed the remote areas. Still learning.

Build 3 Carbonate Processor and 3 Core Heat Convector to get breathable atmosphere. and you'll never need more Moxies and if you build open farms you don`t need farms in dome
I have recently been revisiting games I have not played in a long time (one I was playing recently, Steam showed I last played in 2021, I found a lot of new content added since the last time I loaded) I played this game for quite a while, I'm not sure if any of the things you mentioned were in place last time I played, but you've taught me things I didn't know (whether they were there or not, I'm uncertain) But, for example, placing the solar panels or sterling generators inside a dome never occurred to me. I knew the Sterlings could be opened for more power, but that dust storm was such a pain, I used them open only when I really needed power. Also had no idea about the Paradox sponsorship.
Lol i was playing church of N.A with all events on max level (dust storms, cold waves, meteors, dust devils). It was incredibly challenging in the beggining
I like to build small drones And fill them with sterling generators Or the super generators the large generators and keep them open all the time even at dust storms the only thing is y So place a drone hub and a good couple of supply depots Next to it ou are required to pump them with oxygen and water supply Otherwise they won't work But it's well worth it for the energy that's uncorruptible Can't be bothered by a dust storm the only thing you could really affect them is if you have a meteorite Strike In maintenance
best tip is to use stuff that requires less or almost no mainenance. solar panes are nice but you need batteries and batteries need mainenance - no good
Do you know of any sites that have saved games that I can download to get inspiration and ideas for my own colony build outs? Please advise as soon as you can. Thank you!!!
is there something i can do to make specialist automatically asign to their specialized workplace, because they alway go to a different workplace then there speciality.
In building is a button in shape of 'university hat'. It allows only specialist at work (botanics at farms, geologist in metals and rare metals mines, engineers at factories and drone assemblers...).
@@jac6111, to prevent this exist officer stations. Game rule 'rebel yell' in large colony make renegade colonists inevitable part of a colony so game forces you to build stations.
This is a bit of a newbie’s guide and not that great. This game runs on 2 things - money and research. So you want scan until you find rare metals and BUY research immediately. Initially, forget about providing food, you have few colonists and is cheap to buy. Make sure you find rare metals from your initial scanning- that’s where you want build your first dome. Nothing is more important. The next to think about is maintenance. BY FAR the biggest cost is Machine Parts. BUY a factory immediately while you have money - you need to research it to build it, it’s far easier to buy one straight up. First up (before even landing), place down your first dome (I prefer the long ones, but they cost a few polymers, buy them). You want to be able to reach rare metals and place down all your concrete mines. If you’re lucky enough to find water, set out your water collectors. Attach all your power cables and pipes. Set out a solar farm and a battery or two next to the dome so power can’t be interrupted by cables breaks. You now have all your initial buildings set out, turn them all off and activate as needed later. Plan where to land your ship keeping in mind a drone hub will replace that. Your first crew should be enough unskilled people for amenities, a doctor and 3 miners, and 3 researchers. If possible they should have the sexy trait. When you get crew 2, get more miners and researchers, and get started on machine parts. Don’t build anything that requires electronics as they are expensive for maintenance. Once you’ve got machine part, slowly switch power over to windmills. You get more power by converting metals into MP than solar, Plus you save on polymers for battery maintenance AND you can upgrade them, PLUS you get more power from them from elevation. Now it’s time to build a farm, plastic factory and another dome, do the planetary missions, and look for more rare metals. Maybe start an electronics factory. Focus on improving research and finding more money. If you find more rare metals you’re going to need shuttles to setup a new area.. Lastly you want triboelectic scrubbers to cover your windmills and each other. It’s easy street from here, get the Mohole and you can do anything from there. This works every time regardless of map or difficulty.
Another good one: Accepting tourists will give more applicants once they depart. So it actually helps out! They're not useless
#0: A triboelectric scrubber can clean everything except the scrubber itself. Two scrubbers can clean everything.
Wait 2 ? How did I not think of that?

I really like to put a full triangle of Stirling Gennies inside a dome. Excellent for back up power during a dust storm. :)
Place a fuel, food and rare metal depot next to rocket landing pads. Makes shorter work for drones.

Why shouldn't I put vapour moistrisers close to each other? Does it decrease water production or sth? Great video btw
Yes it does, each vaporator has area of effect and they lose efficiency when placed less then 6 spaces appart.
Yes, they produce less water that way like Magellic26 said!
how do you put rc comander in autao but for all the map wtf ?
Once in auto, it will do it’s tasks all around the map
