Same type of concept as Salem with a few different element. I am a bit intrigued by these games I have to confess. I am an old school board game player (I am almost 60) and the hardest thing for me in recent years as been cards added to so many games. I’ve only started to get use to the idea of cards in so many games, mostly because it’s a bit more difficult to find people to play with and been exploring more solitary games and those really use a lot of the card system.

I am also an older board game play. But these games stick out as something I think that can bridge older and new players alike. I like the larger groups being able to all sit down to a game. If you like solitary games, I would check out Bristol 1350 when it drops in 2 weeks as that can be played solo as well. Thanks for watching. Cheers!

@@GamersCloset my wife say I am just an old guy set in my ways 😂 she is probably right. I just expected or wanted my games to remain like the old Avalon Hill games of the 70’s and 80’s I suppose. I am an actual hardcore Advance Squad Leader player but it’s hard to find players to play with now a days, specially for a game as complicated as ASL. My search for solitaire games as made appreciate, if slowly the use of cards in games. I just got recently one where to play a campaign as a Stuka pilot in different WWII theatres, it’s actually a lot of fun

While I’ve played many board games over the years, I am also a sailor, and sailing instructor of some forty years to young and old. I have sailed the waters of pirates Jean Lafayette, Captain Kidd, Blackbeard, the waters of Treasure Island, and the crystal clear fjords of my Viking ancestors. - - As one immersed in sailing and sailing history, I was taken aback when I looked closely at this game. And confused. The CAPTAIN hangs out at the stern (back) of a ship (is that not where Jack Sparrow and Captain Barbosa always are? Du?) I have this game on order, but in looking at yours and other UA-cams, they at first sight totally screwed up this simple order of the sea. But on studying your UA-cam, I see that they have two versions of the board. Some have the captain and first mate at the stern, but most videos I’m seeing has that reversed. - - Do you know if the current version has the captain at the stern? The game I ordered is to arrive today. It sure had better have the captain where he should be. - - Do you know the history of the game? Did they do it incorrectly at first but now corrected it? - Captain, Sailing Master & Pirate with parrot, Clifton Bencke

Could be yar! The theme is intriguing and the components (including box!) are excellent as per Façadeʼs usual, but to be frank my head spun the first time I viewed the rules explanation. But upon rewatching I think Iʼve begun to get it, and I imagine the rules could be absorbed without too much difficulty during actual play. Itʼs nice that the game scales for such a wide range of number of players.
