He’s such a humble, nice, and genuine dude too. Gave me a drumstick after the show the one night because he caught me hiding after it ended trying to get an autograph 😭
I’m almost positive that they’ll go out on a headlining tour for PV after this run with Underoath. Shit I saw Erra on a headlining run almost a year after their self titled came out
They do headline... No room for egos in metal music, it's not about whos "better". If you get an opportunity to open for a bigger band to a larger audience than you'd usually gather yourself, you'd be stupid not to take it
It’s ridiculous how good this new album is. They knocked it out of the park. Easily my favorite modern djent group. Fingers crossed they come back to Salt Lake City
@@tehsimo As a guitarist, following the complex rhythm in this song is a bastard lmao. They may look like statues because they’re trying to make sure they don’t mess up the rhythm.

I was at this concert, front left on the balcony seats. I remember saying in the car "god I hope they play Ragnarok and some new stuff." and I got both of my wishes! They're insanely good live, I was very surprised.
They were always great live, but they’ve matured as a band and gotten so much better lately that it’s unbelievable. I can’t wait for the next time they’re in the NY area!
It's suuuper fast. There's a part in the documentary where they're all like I'M not playing that part live, YOU do it! Guess no one is comfortable with doing it yet 😂

I was there for Periphery but my buddys girl was super into Underoath. Having only listened to a few of their of songs prior to this show, they absolutely fucking killed it too. Great presence and way more pit violence than I expected XD
I watched the "making of" P5 video (ua-cam.com/video/xlB6dGIRutY/v-deo.html at the 3:03 mark). I thought Mark was going to play that lead part. I guess he chickened out! LOL
It's pretty hard to pull off perfectly live so maybe they just haven't practised it enough yet, I hope they will eventually play the sweeps live though
@@whatisahandleplz yeah that's what im hoping for. I'm all for backing tracks for electronic, orchestral parts and guitar parts if they're pretty subtle but to not actually play the main lead is a bit too far imo.
1:20 was really awkward that nobody played the guitar solo after the chorus, backing tracks are awkward, if there are 3 guitarists then at least one of them should play it?
I love my boys, but 3 very talented guitar players, and no sweep guitar in Atropos ? synth or not, it sure does sound like a guitar, so they might as well start practicing that solo and play it live or people will be disappointed lol
its disgusting how good of a drummer matt is

I'm not a drummer but I'm absolutely in love with his playing.
can you imagine if him and John Bonham ever collabed
He is , disgustingly, disgustingly, incredibly, disgustingly good at drums, o my days don't get me started on the rest of em
I heard he's so good that he was playing the sweeps with his feet around 1.20 that the guitarists were too lazy to play.
Jake is turning more and more into his uncle with that look
Spencer is a gift to this earth.
How that dude has the breath to get through this song is beyond me. Has to be so difficult to sing live.
why periphery isn't headlining their own tour is beyond me.

Love this song, love these guys, but backing tracks playing the solo at the 1:20 mark in the song?! No bueno. Why?
Why they no play the sweeps at 1:21 :(
Oh man the guitar arpeggios are backing tracked
One of my favorite bands of all time but that is pretty disappointing.
because it's a synth. The guitar tab book doesn't have that part either
You realise that the band only has 2 guitarists at the moment for live tracks
Misha said it's synth, I think np at all, many band do this.
A fucking shame. They are professionals.
I guess no one wanted to play the synth/arpeggio on guitar lol, also don't blame em
