For change Medtner 3 has one of the most loveliest intro!
Trifonov's Piano Concerto is also really good

A few others you may know/like that qualify to various degrees: Stanford No. 2, Stenhammar No. 1, Liszt No. 1, Malling’s in C Minor, perhaps even Mendelssohn No. 1. Pierné’s in C Minor is worth a mention though it builds a little slower than the rest.
Both of Adolf Wiklunds piano concertos are so good!
YELLOW RIVER PC IS SO UNDERRATED the opening is soo epic
You cut a little too soon in the Medtner 2, the timpani hits a little further are just the best (after the orchestra's repeat of the motive, but not every recording marks them adequately).
Bortkiewicz 2 is one of my favorite openings too !

@@teodorb.p.composer sicuramente un compositore tardo romantico molto importante e impegnativo,meglio che tutti quei Bartok o prokofiev che x rinnovare hanno rinunciato ai valori musicali importanti e basilari però rach,poi anche se non il primo concerto,ma in generale rach rimane appena sopra..

Intro to Scharwenka's No. 4 is also quite flashy and energetic.

Loved it.... But I wish you would let the theme play out a little bit after the introduction, because that's the point of the introduction, isn't it? Rachmaninoff 's 1st let's you hanging, it's cruel...😂
They actually let the Tschaikowsky theme play out after the (short, but oh so effective) orchestral intro...
When I think of composers who had in their first piano concertos beginnings saying "here comes the boss", then it's Bach, Brahms, Tchaikowsky and Prokofiev.

Since others are making suggestions for a part 2, may I recommend Arthur Bliss and Józef Wieniawski’s concertos? Also coming to mind are Adolf von Henselt’s, Paul Pabst’s, and any of Xaver Scharwenka’s, but definitely Bliss/Wieniawski are the ones up at the top tier for flashiness
