Thank you. Today I was looking for a good video to pass on to artist friends who have asked me about mine. This is it. I bought it several years ago after having seen it in another artist's studio. I finally took the plunge. I retired early to pursue full-time fine art. When a significant museum found me online and purchased my art, I thought, if they're willing to invest in my dream, then it's time for me to put my money where my dreams were. I suggest that merely thinking this way moves you forward in that endeavor. It's worth every penny if you spend a good bit of time in the studio as I do. In a time when SO much is so cheaply made, this was a huge surprise.
First thing I noticed in the video was your happiness with the easel. No wonder though. I’m glad you’re still enjoying it. It’s nice to see someone happy with something.
Congrats Roger! That really is a NICE easel...creme d' la creme! I'm in the process of designing my own easel using "T-Track" slide guides and hard rock maple wood...not quite that big as I will be painting from an electric mobility chair. It will have an "L" shaped base with an acrylic/plexiglass surface to mix paints on plus brush holders and water or fluid containers. On the side will be my straight-round for painting lines and to anchor my wrists while painting. I am familiar with the maker of your easel and that IS the finest available that I've seen. Now let's see some painting!!! All the best..Doc
NIce review, these "Santa Fé" models are brazilian made and it´s really like you said, the "Rolls-Royce of the Easels", I am ordering one very soon, here in Brazil it costs about an awesome ridiculous insane U$ 4OO,°° ( of course, I´ll change it all the 4 casters ), thanks to share.
@@Bansemer You are 1OO% correct, I contacted the factory here and she confirmed to me the various partnerships (some already more than 25 years old), including informing me which stores of supply of high-end artistic materials where the item "Santa Fé ll" can be found, in these cases (from the store´s list), all identified with a small additional plate from the distributor for the Continental USA, with the distinction of "Made in Brazil" inscribed on it, so, thank you very much for your precisely update here.
I bought my easel some time ago and since I'm not a seller or distributor of the easel I really don't know the price. Check on the sites that sell art supplies or with the Jack Richeson Company website.
It doesn’t take up very much more of a footprint than my radial easel. When I get my spare room fitted out into a studio, I will upgrade it to an H frame easel.
I just upgraded to this easel! After dealing with easels that constantly break from overuse, I decided to upgrade also. I was looking at this easel online thinking it was the one for me, so, I searched to see if there were any reviews and yours was the first to come up. I met you years ago in Clearwater. My family is from Tampa. I have since become a professional artist also, and am excited to begin working on a professional easel. You posted this back in 2013. It's now 2021. I am curious to learn what your experience has been like with it after this amount of time has passed. Is it still standing? Is it true they have a lifetime warranty? I hope you're doing well!
I love the easel. Make me feel like whatever painting I have on there and working on is part of something of good quality. I did change one thing... Instead of using the crank on the side, I put a weight on it so I can just slide the painting shelf up and down easier.
Richeson is a great company I use their Shiva Paintstiks, watercolors, and watercolor brushes. Alas, I paint on paper against the wall, so this wouldn't be of much use to me.
Great easel (I have one), first thing I did was to replace those cheesy casters, the original ones are horrible, maybe they do well with a small fish tank LOL
Hi Carl, I don't sell these easels so it was never meant to be a sales pitch. I simply love the easel and wanted to show it. I'm sure you can find prices online.
Dear Carl, the Santa Fé II model it´s Made in Brazil (importers puts a local tag glued on for his market purposes) and here costs about an incredible U$ 4OO,°° on Specialized Art Suply Stores.

That easel is a beast! I bet you got a ton of use out of it!!!!
What a beautiful easel. Congratulations!
It really is!
Awww. You look SO HAPPY! I'm at that point, too, upgrading instruments, studio furniure, etc. Be safe!
Thank Blake

You show how to raise it with the winch, but how do you lower it?
There's a small lever on the winch. You flip it to lower it. Flip it again to go up.

Hi Christian, The easels are actually made in Wisconsin. We were there at the factory and watched them being made entirely in their large facility.

How low off the ground can the pulleys take the easel? I am short and often sit while painting, can I adjust the easel low enough to do that ?
It goes quite low. Lower than any chair would be.
So cool! Thanks.
I'm so jealous! This is a great video review
It's GORGEOUS
Hello dear friend I'm very much interested in that easels that you're showing, and how much am I looking at, are if it maybe on sale by any chance.

It would be interesting to see how you retrofitted the counterweight. Thank you. @@Bansemer
Hey bud, does the bottom tray lowers all the way to the ground by any chance? I need one that drops as low as possible...

A Rolls Royce of easels.
hermosos modelos.
How much Roger?

Exactly, it's ridiculous.
I can’t live with those casters either. Other than than that, it’s an amazing easel.
You never did say how much it costs - or is it so much to be embarrassing? I'm on a fixed limited budget - would be nice to know up front. Bye!

About $835 plus shipping at Jerry's Artarama.
