Make sure you check the air pollution because it can be harmful to your body so if you do wanna go out make sure to have on your mask , Check to see if there's an air purifier where you'll be staying , When you get your food you have to eat it the way it is made , drink the bottled water , don't cook anything that requires an oven and Don't flush your toilet paper down cause of weak pipes .

Also , When it's hot be prepared for random nasty smells cause it is hot and there is toilet paper out with urine and feces. How much information do you know about South Korea regardless of their culture ? Are you aware of their problems with Japan ? ( Even though it ain't even a problem cause they should be treated normal instead of favored like everyone else ) The problem with pollution ? The hygiene problem ? The Flu tend to last longer due to improper treatment of the person and hygiene ... Cause this happens to a lot of multiple individuals even if you over come it you'll just get sick again ( there's a reason when a kdrama shows a person being sick and its longer than usual ) You need to do more proper research with any foriegn society besides in South Korea when going there .

    It’s really nice to see Koreans still preserving their traditional ethnic dress, the Hanbok (韓服 / 한복). Not many people are aware of this but the traditional Chinese dress, the Hanfu (漢服) completely vanished in China since the fall of the last Chinese ruled dynasty, the Ming Dynasty (明朝). Ming means “brightness”, and it was so named because it represented the return of Chinese rule to China after a period of Mongol occupation. The Manchus who lived in what is today northeastern China were the second non-Chinese ethnicity to conquer the whole of China (the first being the Mongols). They successfully invaded China in 1644 AD and began a slew of policies to eradicate and erase traditional Chinese culture by forcing everyone to stop wearing the traditional Chinese hanfu, instead everyone was forced to wear the traditional Manchu dress known as qipao (旗袍; “clothes of the bannermen”) or magua (馬褂). Men in ancient China did not ever cut their hair since it was seen as a part of the body given to us by our parents and they tied it up in a topknot style, however the Manchus forced men to shave the front of their heads and plait it into queues, in the traditional Manchu style known as “golden money rats tail” (金錢鼠尾). This purging of traditional Chinese dress and hairstyle was known as “the order to shave hair and simplify dress” (剃髮易服令). Anyone who did not conform to the Manchu style of dress in China were beheaded in a saying that said “if you leave your hair on your head will go off” (留髮不留頭). Many Chinese people were unwilling to adopt the Manchu dress and hairstyle which were seen as barbaric, and the Manchus ended up massacring many Chinese people in the process. Unfortunately it seems that the Manchu dress has been so often misunderstood as being “Chinese”, even by the Chinese themselves, that even the first lady of China, Peng Liyuan wore a traditional Manchu qipao to meet foreign leaders and ministers. It sounds incredibly sad but on Chinese New Year (or the Lunar New Year), men and women still wear the traditional Manchu qipao and magua with the misunderstanding that these are traditional Chinese costumes when these are in fact the clothes of our invaders and it represents a sad, sad chapter in Chinese history. This has occurred mainly because the Manchus have also assimilated into Chinese society and the Manchu language is considered critically endangered, with very very few people left being able to speak it. In the waning years of the Manchu ruled Qing Dynasty (1644 - 1911), even the Manchu royal family were unable to speak Manchu any longer and all court processes were in the Chinese language. (Both Manchu and Chinese are very different languages. Manchu is written in the traditional Mongolian script, it is a Tungusic language which makes it closer to Evenk, Oroqen and other languages spoken in Northeastern China and Siberia by non-Chinese minorities, whereas the Chinese language belongs to the Sino-Tibetan language family). Korea was also subject to these Manchu raids and invasions and despite Joseon Korea being a very close ally of the Chinese Ming Dynasty (because the Chinese Ming Dynasty helped to repel Japanese invasions of Korea during the 1592 Imjin War) and refusing to pay tribute to the Manchu Qing Dynasty, the Manchus invaded Korea so many times the Korean king eventually had to pay tribute to the Manchus, essentially becoming a vassal state. There are some movies in South Korea depicting some of these Manchu invasions in history as well, the most famous being 丙子胡亂 (병자호란).
    Fortunately in recent years there has been a revival of the true Chinese traditional Hanfu in China and across Chinese communities worldwide known as the Hanfu Revival Movement (漢服復興運動), aimed at increasing Chinese national consciousness of our own traditional dress. This movement has ramped up following an incident in which a woman who was wearing the traditional Chinese hanfu in the Chinese city of Chengdu (成都) was attacked by a group of anti-Japanese mobs who thought she was wearing a Japanese kimono. They forced her to change out of her Chinese hanfu immediately and the anti-Japanese mob began burning the traditional Chinese hanfu on the streets as a sign of protest for the Japanese atrocities committed against China during World War II. This drew a lot of flak not just from the media but Chinese netizens as well which saw this as plain ignorance for one’s own culture. The traditional Chinese hanfu influenced both the Korean hanbok and Japanese kimono in many ways, hence people tend to often mistake the hanfu as being Korean or Japanese, even within China. While the Korean hanbok more closely resembles Ming Dynasty styles of Chinese hanfu, the Japanese kimono closely resembles Tang or Song Dynasty hanfu. One of these influences includes wearing the right collar over left (交領右衽); in China by wearing the left collar over right it was a sign of barbarism, whereas in Japan it is reserved for the dead (so be careful when wearing the hanbok!). 1:53 Dangui (唐衣 / 당의) means “clothes of the Tang” which suggests that it draws influence from the Chinese Tang Dynasty (618 - 907).

    • @khlee6635
      @khlee6635 4 роки тому +4

      For the origin of Dangui, it was based upon a design that derivated from the long Jeogori jacket that worn in 14th to 17th century. So, It is a kind of reforming the design.
      In May 7th, 1610, the Prince Gwanghae(光海君); who was the king during that time ordered to wear the Dangui for the noble women’s group meeting in the royal palace instead of the preparing and wearing Jangsam long coat (長衫, 장삼) like what they have done in 1602.
      This is the Korean court record in May 7th, 1610.
      광해 2년(1610년) 5월 7일
      명부(命婦)의 모임에 참석하는 사람의 복식은, 평시에 있어서는 마땅히 장삼(長衫)을 입고 머리를 수식해야 할 것이다. 그러나 이번에는 기일이 촉박하여 형편상 구비하기가 어려울 듯하니, 임인년 가례(嘉禮) 때에 행했던 예에 따라 양이엄(涼耳掩)에 당의(唐衣)를 입고 입시하도록 하라. ("會命婦時入參人服飾, 在平時則當用長衫首飾矣。 今則日期臨迫, 勢難及措, 依壬寅年嘉禮時禮, 以涼耳掩唐衣, 使之戴着入侍。", in classic Chinese grammar)
      So, it is not related with Tang china :)

    I did this with my mom when I went to South Korea about 5 weeks ago!!! I had a blast getting all traditional wearing the traditional hanbok and getting my hair done. After, we explored Gyeongbokgung Palace! It definitely though was a very humid day so we only wore them for about 2 hours before we had to return them. Will definitely recommend doing when visiting South Korea!!

    Queen Mommy Oh and Princess Mina reign supreme! You guys looked beautiful. The hanbok is gorgeous. That was so sweet for him to customize and create them just for you two! I hope you get many occasions to wear them, because they are too beautiful to be put away in a closet somewhere. I hope I can go to South Korea some day and try this experience. It looks wonderful! Thank you for sharing this video with us, Mina! Keep up the great work, and can't wait for the next one!

      Thank you so much ❤️ We want to wear it out everyday! It's the balance between trying to preserve them so they last awhile, but also we must take them out for some fresh air! 😄
