"I got out, I shot some friends."
Pure gold.
Loved the video, the ice cream van shot is definitely a personal favourite!
Holy cow. I just picked up my first SX-70 today and I put a pack of 600 in it while I wait on my SX-70 film. This is awesome.
Annnnnd it's broken. Focus wheel was stuck. My people said to just pry off the front panel. Actually had to remove six screws. I broke the circuit board trying to pry off the cover.
Crap. My Sonar SX70 also has a stuck focus wheel
I haven't really been interested in instant photography, but the SX-70 has gotten me somewhat interested
I love my sx-70 it’s the cream white with brown skins.. bought it off eBay years ago for about 60$ or something.. it had issues but I sent it in to impossible project to have it repaired.. I used 600 film in my sx70 when I didn’t have any film for the camera or because it wasn’t being sold in stores at the time.. so happy Polaroid is back in business!
Love your videos man. I shot my first pack of film on an sx-70 I inherited from my father this past weekend. I've never shot a poloroid let alone any instant film camera, and I must say I might be hooked. Again appreciate your videos because they help my dumb ass out a lot
I feel so called out whenever they say your name, Noah
Yoo same
Polaroid's color chemistry has changed a bit recently. The Polaroid Go film is significantly better than the 600 film I have, which is cool but also kinda frustrating. I wish they would release another SLR camera
I actually wanted to do this when i went to my graduation like a hour a go lol
I shoot 600 in my sx-70 sometimes, love the form of the camera over my regular 600, but it’s shakey sometimes
I like how you went for a walk and shot some photos of your friends. It is nice to see you use camera collection as living museum . Oh yeah I like the book bag I bought I framed it and hung it on the wall, it is a nice piece of art
I've been using the Polaroid ND filters for quite some time now. So far I haven't had any issues with them.
When I first started shooting Polaroid, the films used to have little plastic blocks on so that you couldn’t load the wrong film by mistake. But thanks for all the videos. There’s always something interesting for me to watch on your channel.
Yes! The old 600 film wouldn’t fit normally in the SX70, but they must have changed the little tabs on the cartridges at some point when the film was resurrected
@@AnalogResurgence resurrected (angel choir holy singing)
To anyone reading this with any proclivity to mess with electronics, a real SX-70 600 conversion isn't super difficult. The hardest thing is getting the damn thing open since after the first year or so, Polaroid switched to proprietary square-bit screws. You can either modify an existing screwdriver or buy one. Google "SX-70 600 conversion" and find the opensx70.com blog post if you're interested.
I love doing this with my SX-70 model 2. Itype film is rather clutch for this. Great video love the Polaroid related content.
always love these videos, they're so simple in concept but you execute them really well :)
It so good you make these as I worry Polaroid will stop SX-70. I took mine out today too! A Polaroid day
“Just hanging out in my garage with my Lamborghini. Do you know what I like more than my Lamborghini? Knowledge!”
I’ve been shooting small instax pics inside my Polaroid swinger and then putting them through the rollers of my Polaroid land camera 1500 SX-70. Lol
I'm waiting to get some round framed film .. looks awesome
Oh it is perfect for the cherry blossom season!
@@timekillerone 🌸🍒❤️
Awesome video. I like little hacks, that promise to get more use out of something.
Thanks Noah!
Good video. I agree with exposure dial trick that it is a hit & miss. I took photo of city street view in day time with 600 film in SX70, and it is overexposed. the ND lens filter is the best way.
Cool -- did not know about this, thank you for the real-world testing of the various methods! Now I just need to find a working *AFFORDABLE* SX-70 camera!!! (I have a batch of various 600-ish models, and I do really like the Polaroid Impulse AF models -- but the actual "SLR" functioning and focus of an SX-70 is what I want!
I really enjoyed the approach of this video! Great job 😁
Been considering doing this for awhile with an old sx70 model 2 I picked up for $30. Gonna get it fixed up as a birthday present :)
Another fun video. Hope you continue this. Mint Flashbar 2 has a “use 600 film” setting
That’s so funny. I just bought 600 film and the nd filter to try it out.
I personally prefer shooting with the Polaroid ND Filter on the pack; just is easy and less hassle
Great info!!! I have ND filters and have yet to use them ... will soon!!!
For a better contrast and beautiful colors, put the photos in the dark and away from heat during development. ;)
So can I use 600 film with Vintage Polaroid Land Camera SX-70 OneStep White Rainbow Stripe Instant
logan’s so adorable gdi
Would the 600 film in the sx 70 with no mods be very good for low light no flash?
Just one question Noah, when u took the picture with nd filters, how much towards light or dark did u move the exposure dial? Also i wanted to know would the mint flash half power mode be a bit too much light for 600 film in bright day outdoor? Appreciated
Great video, what page size should I print the nd filter template?
10:22 I’m shooting Recaptured Blue 600 on the SX-70 with just adjusting the exposure dial with some “happy accidents.”
Was a helpful and fun video, thank you.
Man you are the best
No u are
I love both sx-70 and 600 film but man the development time for the current film Is still a bummer
Yeah, especially for sunrises and sunsets. By the time you know if first shot worked the light has changed
@@the_lomographer4047 yeah it sucks because literally everything else about the films are amazing. The chemistry is probably the best it's ever been
I also bought the film shield recently and feel really weird that the shield will just hang outside the camera, but after watching this video I guess this is the only way to use it. My only concern is that it will be damaged if I put it in my bag.
update: it is damaged.
What company do you recommend for an SLR 680 restoration? Retrospekt or Brooklyn Film Camera? Both are same price for resto.
Good work.
Just one small question. Couldn’t find it in the comments below. Did you add a battery tomthe 600 film pack? Where did you get the power from?
Polaroid 600 film has a battery in the pack. Only the i-Type 600 film does not.
@@AnalogResurgence thank you. I was a bit confused by all those instant film types.
Does the Mint Flash 2 ND mode work outside as well?
Hey, you have very nice and informative videos for polaroid and whole analog photography, thanks for that! Just have one question.. what is the point to shoot 600 in sx70? Beacuse shutter speed stays the same, you arent taking advantage of faster film? Are there any shutter speed conversion for sx70?
Polaroid 640 iso
Sx70 film
Underexpose in 600 camera
And 600 in sx overexp. Dark dial for sx70 w no other hacks.
Thank you so much been very helpful
Great video Noah 😎
On the subject of the frog tongue, do you ever have issues with it jamming film or not catching photos as they eject ?
A MiNT Slr670 is the best way to shoot 600 film in a sx70. Unfortunately it’s also the most expensive !!
I’ve had nothing but good results with the frog tongue on this camera. I’ve had it on there for a few years and it’s a little rough around the edges but still working working well! It holds the photos in place as they eject every time
I was expecting to see how it makes it work at night without the flash. Why would you use fast film outside? They have same price
Another great video, Noah.
Many years ago, I bought a 1950's or 1960's Polaroid Land Camera complete with attachable flash, unused flash bulbs, case, etc. I wonder if there is film available for it or if it even works after all these years?
Go buy some 4x5 darkroom paper and you can shoot and develop the stuff at home :)
side note: YAY for sunscreen!!!!
1:13 at what time in this video did you “trick” the camera?
(As of 2022)
Availability isn’t a huge issue. I always see people saying it’s harder to get proper film, and it’s easier to get 600. You can get SX70 readily available on Amazon, and it’s prime shipping. If cost is the issue 600 and SX70 both cost the same ($19.99). iType is cheaper so taping a battery to a pack, and a ND filter would be the cheaper route.
what if you tape the gel filter to the front of the lens?
Darkens the view in the viewfinder
I was waiting for the yoddle....
I think the last one you shot with the blue-ish stripe on one side was just a film defect in this case, not exposure related.
yep - looks like pod failure
I wonder can l use 600 in polaroid 1000 camera?
I would love a video about developing E-6 film at home!
Hoping to shoot a lot of slide film this summer so I can get some kits and develop in a few months!
@@AnalogResurgence Looking forward to seeing that!
7:25 I got this with expired film that hadn’t been sealed for a long while.
So cute!!
If the 600 film is about a stop and a half faster than the SX70 film, why not just shoot it in lower light situations? Without any hacks.
How is it that you and Kasey from Camera Conspiracies are out in the same parks and neighborhoods and never run across each other?!?!?!?!?!?! :-)
I honestly think the only reason I'd ever do this is cus they don't make coloured frames for SX-70... I prefer the 160 iso punch, but also purple best colour
Is there any reason, at all, to shoot SX-70 film (as opposed to 600)?
more control with focus and constrast in photos
Halfway through the video I hope you try it without doing anything just regular sx70 with 600
whoaaaaaaaaaaat?!
I don’t get it , if 600 film is inside , isn’t it already two, three stops overexposed? Then why add the mint flash ?
Are you saying for indoor shoots that are too dark for SX-70 , can use a 600 film with some fill flash and hope it was originally like 3 stops too dark for ASA 160 ?
Thanks for the info! :)
Ben is a roommate? Nice.
How do you scan Polaroids?
Checkout the official Polaroid app. It gives pretty good scans. Or you can try PhotoScan by Google.
5:33 wow that was a little awkward lmao.
10:32 You mean to tell us that correctly exposed images exhibit better colour fidelity and contrast than those that are over exposed? Do you think, for just 1 second, that the ice-cream truck’s tonal value may have played a role in the camera’s center weighted exposure calculation for that image? 🤦🏽🤦🏽🤦🏽
Had this camera. Loved it... until someone dropped it.
Noice
Too much sun
Never enough sun
I don’t wanna see people with musks in videos. Dislike
