: killing joke
One of history's most underrated bands...
👍Agreed! 🎶🔑
@@donatocapurso784 Strongly disagree.
@@Punkadelic2112 ???
How cool is the guitar player with his 'moves!'
Geordie Walker is his name, sounds like hhe was playing one , two sometimes three chords at the same time.Great guitar player.
Yeah and he was stylish as hell to boot , sure, tucked into his pants tapered leg, dress pants, hair parted on the side. Very cool demeanor. Yeah he was great farewell to him
What a band , lovin Geordies playing it’s so relaxed
That guitar.....incredible.
Erichhh: It's like a Les Paul and a wide-bodied Gretch Frankensteined together!
Those Burman amps roar brother.....RIP Geordie Walker
@@-doggy-6670what do you mean the guitar, doesn't he mean the two guitars? I swear Walker made it sound as if there were another unseen guitarist somewhere that guy could layer and echo and layer some more
@@decimated550 Geordie used really loud Burman amplifiers with his Gibson hollow body....I believe he also used Electro Harmonix delays to get his echoes 👍👍
This was recorded @ Rockpalast Festival in Loreley (West) Germany in 1985. Other bands were on that festival were Chris Rea, Deep Purple, RHCP, George Clinton & Funkadelic et al.
He dances with that guitar so gracefully.
Yeaaah! And still they are in action! In 2019!(Except Raven;RIP my friend)!KJ - love them more than 34 years, never disapointed, never!!!
Such Unflinching Apocalyptic Power (in broad Daylight too). They're so Focused here... Playing with Military Precision in the face of a largely Indifferent Audience. My Fave version of Bloodsport ever ~"Thousands of Armies East and West... and we wait!"~ Some of the Audience get where they're coming from, while most seem Gobsmacked. American Bases nearby bound to be some Service Personel in the Crowd... Saw The Joke again last year and they're Still Tremendous. R.I.P Paul Vincent Raven.
I love how the intro music is the Sensational Alex Harvey Band!
This is so damned good, thanks for posting this great concert!
Notice how cool Geordie looks here? He's absolutely loving the sound he's producing during this gig!!!
he's not the only one. that intro could have gone on all night for me.
When I saw them in 1982 they opened with this at The Whisky in Hollywood , CA . The Hum 🎸 !
The whiskey? Jealous regards from west london. 😆 great song. Plenty more where we come from!
nice to see Geordie so happy ...
this is superb , a real time capsule , killing joke are so tight here , thanks for the upload.
That sunny afternoon crowd 🤣🤣🤣 holy shit. Opening with The Hum no less! Thank you for posting.
Geordie's moves always remind me of a medieval lute player bursting for a piss.
I was 5 months old when they filmed this gig! I love it!!
bluray edition, now!!!!!
❤️RAVEN KING❤️
1961-2007
RIP
Rip Geordie
@@3rdPlaya0709 - sad news...he had a unique textured tone with his guitar playing that gave Killing Joke their sound....RIP 😓
R.i.P. Geordie Prague never forgets💥
There aren't a lot of bands that are around decades at a time and never suck even once.
Watched this on a bad VHS copy for years, great gig especially when Bloodsport kicks in/ I was seeing them a lot during this time Thanx for posting
Yeah Bloodsport is great here, always a welcome oppertunity for Jaz to tell us verbally what's on their collective minds. "Winter, forever more!..." 🤡🎶✊.
I love Killing Joke ❤😊
HOLY FUCK Paul tears up "Night Time"
jmiester25 he really does
I have never understood why they never played anything from Fire Dances in their live sets. It's my favorite K.J. album.
ifutureman agreed, Feast of Blaze and Fun And Games are fully deserving of permanent residency in the setlist. However they have a habit of not playing some of their great songs - presumably its a way of proving they have such a strong back catalogue they can drop songs that would make a whole career for some bands!
+ifutureman I've seen them do "Song And Dance", "Frenzy" and "Dominator" live.
There's a video up of December 83 where they play dominator and an incomplete version of 80s.. it's a damn good video
Wished Rejuvenation was in this set. Would’ve fit in nicely
You are right. Remember Geordie ❤️🎸🌹
'It's great to be back in the US' is how he greets his German audience
think it was because it was all american bands billed that rockpalast, aside from them
Finally a Killing Joke concert that sounds good 👍
17.08.1985 to be exact!
This sounds great now even if was from a while back; very contemporary! The guitarist has some original and cool moves; reminescent of a Paul Simonon-type!
I wonder where the Manic Street Preachers stole their 1994 look from??? Any ideas?
Echo and the Bunnymen circa 1979.
You forgot "Good Samaritan" played between "Kings and Queens" and "Love Like Blood"
Easily done... not the best of choices for a live concert...
Thank You 🙏
Thamx for the upload.....!! I was surching this gig for a long time!
hi i just want to make a correction to the setlist, you forgot good samaritan (damn good song) in between kings and queens, and love like blood. amazing concert thanks for upload
Great gig. Musically they were very tight during this era. Saw them in 2012 and will do in a few weeks in 2013. Ironically their later songs and hence their sound is much more aggressive!! Not bad for 50+_ old farts!!
En mi podio siempreeeeeeeeee
🎸🔥🎸🔥🎸🔥🎸🔥🎸 ...... !!!!
Hey, it is the 33rd anniversary of this amazing performance!
Time 31:30 Love like Blood. Geordie the coolest guitar hero, he looks on the stage like he's doing anything, but those riffs are monumental. Geordie had a great presence and tremendous range. His guitar was aggressive, abrasive, eerie, but also ethereal and magic, all at the same time. R.i.P. Geordie. Prague never forgets 🙏
Long live KJ and tribal rock ! Still on the run still alive as ever ! Watch them on tour 2013 !
Their playing in london this Saturday & i cant get there & I'm pissed off.
London is a difficult place to navigate through 😣☠
The vocalist said "It's great to be back in the U.S.A.!" right before the band starts the first song, but isn't Rockpalast a German music festival -- was he being ironic/sarcastic?
Yes
I think Jaz was just f*cking around.
Maybe this festival was taking place near Ramstein Airbase or one of the other military sites the U.S. had in West Germany back then, and he was making a tongue-in -cheek reference?
Shruggz Da Str8-Faced Clown -
I was actually there. It was in Lorelei, Germany. No airbase around. But, almost all the other bands were American, so maybe that’s why.
"Germany is an occupied country!" Jaz said on MTV Europe, I seem to recall. 🤡🎶✊.
This period seems so much more polished, perhaps Jaz & Co were trying to add a bit of mainstream into their act. NOT A CRITICISM .
K.J. have always been awesome. Period.
The audience looked a bit baffled too.
Awesome performance. Lame crowd.
Just found my prezzie, ty!🍻🍻🍻🖖
7:40 that man is manic. Jaz Coleman propel himself into a mental states experienced by few people
What Is Geordie wearing ??
Clothes
@@fatchinamangaming4036 you're a fantastic comedian.
Killing joke tiene su cima en brighter than an thousands suns
Geordie is like a more talented Josh Homme
Holy shit, you are right 🇨🇦
I've had this one a while as well.
Amazing
80s
Why would you spend money and time to go to A concert, just to stand there like ZOMBIES ?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
great gig--where and when ??
It was Rockpalast Festival, Lorelei, Germany- August 17 1985
Was the keyboardist an effective member of the band? I knew Jaz used to play It...
Its David Kovacevic. Joined as a touring keyboard player for the Night Time tour in 1985. Left circa 1990
'the final conflict...'
Was this 1988?
1985
Youth. The bass.....
You must be a big fan. Youth left the band 3 years before this gig.
that's Paul Raven
Rutger Hauer on guitar
Tailgaters at a KJ gig? ha ha
Lol love iol

Alot of color in the crowd for a goth concert.
That’s because it wasn’t a goth concert.
I love how the intro music is the Sensational Alex Harvey Band!
