- How to setup The Yolink smart water valve and leak detection. In my research this is the most economical and feature rich leak detection system you'll find. The big selling point is it doesn't need house power, internet or even the app to protect your home from water leaks!

Hello, I have a question on the length of the ball valve (1" valve) from one end to the opposite end without any fittings. Thanks.
We installed the three-quarter inch valve. I’m not sure it’s the same as the 1 inch valve would recommend calling YoLink Tech Support and asking that specific question. Thank you for supporting the channel by coming and giving a video thumbs up. Please consider updating us to install the valve. let us know if you have any other questions.
Wow nice

I love YoLink...But what if you have fire sprinklers in your house, and a fire breaks out, and the sprinklers flood a sensor... and YoLink turns your fire sprinklers off. ?
Excellent question. In that case you would want to put in a bypass valve to go around the house shut-off valve so that water would always be present at the sprinkler heads. The bypass valve could be tied to a separate set of sensors that would alarm only when there was a malfunction with the sprinkler system. For example if a pipe had broken and water was detected then it could shut off water to the sprinkler heads. Would you please like the video and subscribe to the channel which supports our efforts to helpi others? Thanks for commenting and let us know if you have any other questions

It was soo cool. Definitely i will buy that too. Thanks for the instructions.
Can one sensor work with 2 valves? One to turn off water another to drain ?
You would need two sensors. One of the sensors would be programmed to open the valve, and the other sensor would be programmed to close the valve.

Hello! Tamsak na at dikit pa. may ayuda kana ❤️👌👍, sukli ko ha? Tnx God bless
Hey i know im late to this video, but do you think his would be worth using as a hot water bridge valve for long distance recirculating?
Do you know what's the protocol it uses to communicate with the hub?
This would be great to use with a smart outlet to turn on the recirculator pump and also some temperature sensors clamped onto the copper piping!
Thank you for the comment/questions. I've included some useful links for you below.
The hub communicates withe the device via the LoRa profile. Yolink products can communicate device to device up to a 1/4 mile (approx. 1300 ft).
The valve functions like a normal ball-cock valve, with the addition of a smart controller. Yolink also has an AC power supply for the valve.

How do you know when it's time to replace a sensor? They're advertised as 5 year internal battery life, then discard, as sensor is fully sealed non serviceable.
You can check the battery level in the application for yoLink. You can open them up and replace the battery. We have done this. It might affect the water resistance of the sensor, but it will still work.
@@CyberMedics Good to know, thank you
Let us know if you implement the water valve and any lessons learned
I’m upgrading my water heater & softener soon, wanting to incorporate a system like this. I’m strongly considering yolink! Is there any indication on the unit that it’s open or shut? Does the app know if the valve is open or shut? I like this built in ball valve actuator, seems more reliable than mounting an external actuator for the lever. I just want to know when the valve is open or shut lol
Sorry for the late reply. There is not an indication on the valve. But if you have the Yolink Hub it will show in the app the status of the valve and all of the sensors. I agree strongly that the integrated ball valve is much more secure. Please let us know if you need help or have any other questions. Thanks for commenting and subscribing!
How do I set up that sensor without the wire? It is in the app but say offline. Same for my valve, but I got the speaker hub to connect because it had the button and voice that speaks. I pushed the set on the valve and the sensor, but both kept blinking green but never paired???
You are referring to water link sensor 1? You have to hold the set button until the sensor blinks green, then hold the set button on the water valve until it blinks green. Make sure the valve is in the closed position before starting the paring. Here is a link to Yolink's tutorial: ua-cam.com/video/dD6oNUzuxSE/v-deo.htmlsi=0KbAcO-M6Q8F4mEM If that doesn't work you may have to do a factory reset on both. Let us know if you need further assistance.
@@CyberMedics Yolink walked me through it, but thank you too!
Glad you got it sorted. Thank you for commenting, giving the video a thumbs up and subscribing to the channel. We appreciate the support. Done a lot of content on account and device hardening if you're interested in that let us know we'll send you links to the videos.
Why this gray one has a wire and a black box? Why noone ever talks about that newer blue one like this that does not need that wired black box!!!???🤔😳
Thank you for coming and subscribing. The Black Box provides power to actuate the valve
😱😱😱 nice
hello friend
hello frm mayora
How reliable is it ? Thanks for the video.
The valve seems reliable. Haven't installed yet, but have opened and closed 50+ times testing. Will update once it is installed. Thanks for commenting and subscribing! Let me know if you have any other questions.
I like it 😚😊😍
Hello
Rename your video. I wanted information to set up my system and your video was high tech bullshit. Simple how to do is not what I wanted. I didn’t get it. Sorry.
No problem. It can be frustrating when a video doesn't meet your expectations. We have other videos on Yolink, and would be happy to help answer any questions. Please let us know what wasn't covered for you & maybe we can help.
