Why doesn't your line of Sony Master Series TV's come with 3D (i.e., 3D Frame Packing) in order to watch 3D Blu Ray discs? I understand if the rest of your TV's do not offer 3D support but your ultimate home theater TV's (i.e., Master Series) should.

Sony would corner the entire market if their Master Series TV's were both 3D and 4K.

    *3D Firmware Update*
3D technology has the potential to be far more superior now than at any other point in history due to 4K-UHD-BLU-RAY disc technology. 3D's past issues were that people didn't want to spend big money on 'Active 3D glasses' (battery operated), or a small minority of people received a headache from them while viewing 1080p 3D movies.
The only problem with wearing 'Passive 3D glasses' (like the kind that you find in movie theaters) is that when watching a 3D-BLU-RAY disc, each eye only sees DVD quality video. But if they were to make 4K-3D-UHD-BLU-RAY discs than each eye would see 2K quality which is double that of a standard BLU-RAY disc (i.e., SDR). And for those who don't mind wearing 3D Active glasses, they would experience the full 4K quality of 3D movies.
The thing that I don't understand is that a TV manufacturer like Sony doesn't want to put '3D Frame Packing' on their line of Sony Master Series TV's for 3D home theater movie viewing. How can you call your ultimate line of TV's 'MASTER SERIES' if they don't even have 3D technology???

Thank you for contacting Sony support, we're glad to assist you! @@heatwaveps5 I agree with you one hundred percent. If the TV's are based on the same processor(s) , and all signs point to them being the same specs wise, then there is no reason not to back port these features. Sony needs to do the right thing here!

I appreciate the Eco Dashboard and its a nice feature to have for those of us who are energy saving minded. However, Sony needs to bring the Game Bar to the A90J as it has the same SOC as 2022 TVs. What's stopping Sony from delivering the game bar on 2021 Master Series models?

Would it ever be possible to build surge and spike measurement intelligence into Sony TVs in the future? Customers are always encouraged to use good quality surge protectors with their expensive home theater equipment to protect it from surges and spikes, but none of that equipment ever provides any type of actual information, measurement data or statistics about how many surges and spikes are intercepted or the type/level of severity of those surges and spikes. It would be very interesting as a TV owner to be able to go to a page inside of the Eco Menu and see just exactly how many surges or spikes have been received by the TV and what their actual degree of intensity, severity and duration where. Then, with that type of information and statistics, customers could have a tool to gauge a.) just how "dirty" their AC power was in their home and b.) how effective any surge protection solution they had purchased to protect their equipment actually was. As of today, no customer has ANY visibility at all into this type of thing - at any level. If Sony where to be able to provide that type of surge and spike monitoring intelligence inside their TVs (to at least one degree or another) that could provide a very interesting key differentiator that would allow them to further set themselves apart from their competition in the marketplace.

Very interesting idea. I can't speak to the possibility of it happening but considering our drive to deliver the most premium picture and audio quality, power line noise can play a factor, though it's an outside source from the TV. I like this thinking!

This is a great feature and I think people are really going to enjoy using it. In the future, would it be possible to update the app to also be able to show the actual amount of wattage that the TV is presently using or drawing in real time? Might that same app also be able to show cumulative wattage statistics that would show the user how many watts of power have been consumed by the TV since the last time it was powered on or even show a running cumulative total of how much wattage it has used since it was first plugged in as a new device?

Avatar 2 came out on 3D-BLU-RAY this year... ...so I'm not sure what year you're living in but I'm living in 2023. Maybe you don't like 3D movies, and that's fine. I don't like video games, but I don't tell Sony that their VRR update for their Master Series TV's is unnecessary. To each their own.

I'm not an emotional Man, so there is/was no need to cry or to be offended. Not sure why you're being irrational and illogical when they are still clearly releasing new movies on 3D-BLU-RAY disc here in 2023. Maybe that makes you mad or emotional. Or maybe you're one of those guys who likes to troll and to try to get a rise out of people. Or maybe you're simply anti-freedom when something doesn't appeal to you. Not sure what country you live in but here in America🇺🇸 we have freedom of choice. 🗽
